Have just wasted over an hour on the phone trying to place an add, took 2 people the hole time trying to work it out. As time went on the price got higher, had what I asked for explained to me at least 10 times, after I had told them what I wanted. SO UNPROFESSIONAL. I thought the overseas call centre was bad , seriously these people are SO INCOMPETENT it is beyond belief and they wonder why their advertising sales are falling- easy answer- dumb staff- badly trained. DID NOT PLACE THE ADD- am looking elsewhere to advertise.

Wrote to Manager Subscription Services about delivery issues weeks ago but no reply. Sent a copy of the letter to the Editor of the SMH but again ignored. They have the hide to send you emails telling you how important you are as a subscriber. Lack of response would suggest hollow words.

Great company working really closely with Google to ensure innovation is at the forefront. I really like their simplification of their masthead publications online, much cleaner and better for both consumers and advertisers. Others should follow in their footsteps. They also have some great staff that are always willing to help. Security is also good

Have been overcharged $455 & they claim I still owe them money for ads that I never ran. Have had a dispute in place for two & a half years now yet they are not interested in resolving this matter. I have to keep wasting my time chasing them up & gotten nowhere....
Absolutely disgraceful!!!

I recently sent a letter to the the editor of the EXAMINER earlier this month.
I Received a response confirming that it had been received.
It was a non offensive item ,and certainly of interest to the local people of Port Stephens.
The piece was not published ,and when I communicated with the editor of the Examiner for some explanation ,no such communication was received.
As an ex employee of FAIRFAX it's disapointing that common courtesy
and standard's seem to have deteriorated.

I requested a name change notice to be published. They offered me two choices "The Sydney Herald" or "The Age" . I told them which is cheaper I can go for it. They said "The Age". I gave them my address in the Ad as "NSW". I told them that the requirement is that this should be published in a National Newspaper. I checked with them as to where I can get the hard copy. They told me I can get from any NewsAgency near me. They didnt inform me that The Age is a melbourne edition news paaper. When I called them today morning. They were very very rude. They said its not our problem and we need not say specifically that this is a melbourne edition. I dont know any customer facing instituation this rude.. They hang up the call just like that...

Terrible experience - paying for newspaper deliveries I don't receive and no fix despite many attempts. CS outsourced to Philippines who don't care. Obviously deliveries becoming a thing of the past but Fairfax should just can them rather than stringing us along....

As a business owner for more than 20 years I have found that the accounting skills at Fairfax Media are very ordinary at best.
I seem to have issues with this company and the fees associated with my local paper (how I wish the Naracoorte Herald didn't sell out) to this National company.
They have just been sent me an aggressive letter stating discontinuation of my account and my figures of accounts received and Paid add up monthly, very poor accounting by Fairfax Media.
Pay very close attention to your account and be aware of receiving your receipts and keep track of your own account, don't let them do that.

SEO Frauds. Do not go with fairfax for SEO or facebook ads. They simply don't do what they promise. Sales rep was sincere but had nothing to do with the campaign. He actually agreed that the seo devision had done nothing. I tracked the logins of my website Cpanel and wordpress and they logged in for the first month and that was it. Another thing they promised was a bing business listing but that didn't even happen. They recommended spending $1000 a month on facebook advertising which was a complete flop and not targeted. I was promised that someone would be actively looking at the stats and making changes to the settings to optimise the account but that was not done. 2 ads were approved and it was set and forget no changes made. When I brought this to their attention and told them it wasn't working they said it needs to go run for an extra 2 months as thats how much notice they needed to cancel. I said put it towards the SEO as its not logical wasting $2000 regardless of contracts but this fell on deaf ears. Absolute waste of time dealing with Fairfax. Now of course I have their disconnected out of touch robot like collections department chasing final payment for a service that was not provided at all. Must think their customers are dumb or to busy and dont look into a vague subject like SEO.

The accounting department of this company is the rudest, most unprofessional and unresponsive one I've never dealt with. They didn't identify the payment I made and mucked up our business's account. The problem remains unsolved despite my efforts of calling and emailing and providing the documents they requested. When I called the accounts again today to discuss the issues, the staff couldn't answer my questions but just hung up on me. Unbelievable!
