Nice little spot to grab a quick bite on the way to or from Machu Picchu. Service is pretty quick but the food is only so so. I got the bruschetta and it was nice and warm from the paninin press but slightly lacking in flavor. The other bakery items were ok as well but didn't blow me away.

Purchased a couple of sandwiches from here and both had rotten tomatoes in them. Very disappointed as we'd taken these up to Machu Picchu to enjoy on our walk back into town. Overall the place feels like it needs some TLC. It has clearly has succumbed to the Lonely Planet effect!!

My son and sister had a sandwich two days ago (June 12, 2015) and a few hours later they were intoxicated. We had the most horrible last vacation day back in Cusco after a very interesting train ride.

What can I say ... except if you have been traveling for a while and you miss French pastries ... go there with your eyes closed and your stomach empty !!!
The boss is a love, authentic and a real lesson in life between success and happiness :-)
The sandwiches are good and help out for the ascent of Macchu Pichu!

If you re after a decent cake, this is the place to go. Beautiful view over the driver and friendly service also. Coffees are machine made but come out beautifully presented in tall glasses. We were happy to find some more familiar pastries

Pretty good pastry, But the staff had to take 3 times for the addition forgetting half the stuff. Fortunately, the French are honest. In the end the waitresses forgot two teas, refusing the bill 3 times. The boss is very nice, friendly, sociable with his customers.

A superb pastry shop with a super friendly and welcoming boss and pastry chef! Always a word and a warm gesture for its customers. For this man who is the soul of the house and for the very hearty mille feuille and the lemon meringue pie wish (11.50 soles) it is worth the detour and especially to come back!

A little return to France!

A very varied choice of pastries (croissant from 3 soles 50) and pastries as in France but also sandwiches (from 6.50 to 15 soles), savory pies and pizzas (10.50 per share) and of course hot cold drinks (coffee espresso 5.50 soles, pisco sour 15.50, wine 14.50 ....).

A real treat with this strawberry mille feuille (13soles50) and the perfectly buttered cimarron roll (5.50).

Also ice cream. So a very varied menu

A very pleasant place that overlooks the Rio, the river, quite large, alone or in a group or with the family.

Convenient because wifi and socket.

A bit expensive especially for a traveler but these are the prices in all western places and we are in the village of Machu Pichu. So normal price for the corner. And a priori one of the cheapest for this kind of establishment.

Because hotel breakfast is not good, I visited this shop I searched on the net.
I visited at 6:30.
Because there is a sandwich and bread, asking for a sandwich, it was "Here? To go?" So we got it in the shop.
The sandwich baked so it was hot and it was very tasty.

The only French bakery? Uhh, no. The Almond croissant here was bready and the marzipan inside tasted the same as the croissant (more like oily bread). The pastry itself wasn t even crunchy in the slightest!

In the small town of Aguas Caliente it is hard to find much that really stands out. This quaint second floor shop did just that. So much that we came by twice, once for lunch and once for a final pastry. One nice note about the place is that there was no one out front enticing us to come in like many of he other eateries in town.

Home away from home. After climbing up and down the Macchu Pichu, we really appreciated finding delicious pastry (lemon pie ), a good croissant and a warm cappuccino!

Too bad our bellies were full because we would have eaten everything!

Maybe the listing (with a star) in the Lonely Planet and the Rough Guide ruined this place. Or it has got a new owner. But the baguette we ate here today is far from anything French or even decent...

I only review the food itself here. I know it is difficult to get good products in this region and particularly in agua calientes so this can explain my review.

But for a French boulangerie sorry the food is not at the correct level .. the sandwich complet is very poor .. the tarte citron meringue was poor as well look like not fresh. The meringue was not soft at all.

I am French so maybe I have big expectation.

Otherwise the place and atmospheres and employees are nice no issue on that !

Got two cappuccinos and two pan o chocolate before heading back to the train in the morning.
The food was terrible, completely dry, almost no chocolate. The coffee wasn t good either. And to top it off the merchant accidentally(..?) asked for 10 soles more only to be corrected by us. I d avoid it.

I think the Owner has to take his employees visit Paris for real and taste how what they are selling should taste like. Anyway, the meringue on a lemon meringue pie should not be like chewing gum... dissapointing, it looked nice but in the end it s all about flavour and preparations.

Coffee and pain au chocolate with a great view on the mountains. Really good coffee, only the pain au chocolate could be more crunchy.
I bought yesterday morning (20. April 2016) three big Panini Completo for Machu Picchu. They were good and and caused no problems today.
The open at 4 am for the early tourists.

The only good thing is the bakery, which tasted good. The service is slow, coffee arrived 10 min later after deserts was served, and tasted like someone added milk to espresso :( It is all about taste, but personally, it was the worst coffee I ever had. For such a high prices you will definitely find some better place.

A French touch in the middle of nowhere!
We had a late afternoon tea/cake here, and we had breakfast the following day. Pastries were good, fresh, chocolate was amazing, the chef is really French, so all this reminded us of France, really.

Cakes are nice we had the coconut tart, carrot cake, lemon meringue pie and all were pleasant. The coffee is not good, burnt to a crisp. I can t pass comment on the pastry but our experience in South American is that it s best avoided.

The previous opinions are indeed very hard. Go abroad while waiting for exactly the same benefits as in France is ridiculous. If you want to keep your little habits, stay home.
For our part, we had a great breakfast, the products are fresh and good, all at a price certainly not given, but well inscribed on the map, no one has put the knife under the throat to order.
Sandwiches are also ideal for an excursion to Machu Picchu.
Go there to make your own opinion, personally we loved it!

If you are looking for some great pastries after a long day on the mountain, this is the place. It is not the coziest place, but the specialty coffees are made great, the pastries are excellent with lots of butter between layers and the service is great. WiFi is also great.

We tried the baguettes, the Danish pastry and had a couple of coffees.

We really liked the food but found the coffee very average.

It s also reasonably priced compared to the rest of the options in town

Some options of French sweets and local foods. Maybe I chose poorly, but the Cinnamon Roll was cold, soft ... It wasn't as crunchy as the dough should be. The strong coffee was delicious. Nice place to spend time.
Edit 1: I came back the next day to test the bakery again and give it a second chance ... I was not served. I sat for 3 minutes and there was no one at the checkout or at the establishment. There was a child stirring the exposed foods and sweets (putting his hand and giving it back). Lack of professionalism.
