Exceeded my expectations. Really touching, enriching and exciting. As an avid museum guest, I am surprised by the communication, which is one of the best I have experienced in DK. Had my 4 year old son with me and he really got a lot out of it too.
A must visit.

Amazing story! As a museum, it is quite interesting to hear about the "castle's" history. But it is certainly best when there are concerts or other parties. For example, the weekend with a medieval festival there is 5

Really well made, it was also quite a movie. But at least it is not for smaller children, most of the time are really just texts to read. But it was really cool to see what the prison was like in the 1900s. It's really big so you get to spend a few hours in there. There was also a small souvenir shop. The staff was smiling and welcoming. And it might sound really boring, but it was actually really fun and exciting. Rejoice

Very impressive. The subject prison is prepared in many facets uncovered. A separate small area for the influence on children of prisoners with a space for reflection completes the picture. You get a good idea of what it can mean to be behind bars. Surely a former prisoner can judge that better. A great trip with my 7 year old son.

One of Denmark's most iconic prisons and a captivating experience of moving around. If you are interested in any of the notorious prisoners who have stayed here or the building in general and importance to the city, then it is worth a visit. You are allowed to experience a prisoner's history there, so also reason to go as a group or several times.

The prison was okay for dyslexic fair, but it could easily be found a better place, so also physical disability had an opportunity to hear others talk than there is at ground level.

The prison is NOT handicapped accessible.
Many stairs, no lift.

There was no seating in the cafe, but one could sit in a courtyard where the area is not handicap-friendly.

Super experience. One can go through quickly or slowly through. Depending on whether you read all the signs. We walked in between and it took 1.5 hours. When we came out, we thought we could have read a little more signs ..

The medieval festival sings on the last verse. What a goat market ... Literally: Goats were pulled around and money was pulled out of tourists' pockets.

Because there is not much authentic medieval atmosphere left (after moving the small cozy stalls up to concrete and barbed wire in Horsens prison - it just does not work). However, it has managed to attract many (especially foreign) visitors, is preserved, but the atmosphere and the exciting stalls are completely gone.

The real medieval people, who loved the atmosphere in the city center and around the monastery church, can now only be found in other Danish markets, where they like to tell why they stopped going to Horsens. So now we have to make do with scout clubs and Eastern European bras. Both are OK if there was something authentic too ... but Thorshamre and drinking horn and German-made mead just do not make it better. Unfortunately.

Horsens: You have lost the roof! You should either take your festival seriously so that the international performances, weddings, exciting choirs and orchestras, local specialties and good crafts return - or take the consequence and stop. Because what you are up to now is simply too little too much.

RIP Horsens Medieval Festival.

A good first time experience. Good room for a sold out concert. Fat "scenery". Lots of options for getting something to drink, however, the cows for coffee stalls were insanely long.
The sound could be a bit better, but definitely not the last time I get there

Fun experience, but not the best accommodation. It is a great idea to give us an opportunity for a single night in a prison (when it is now there and probably dog expensive to tear it down). When you sleep there you will first hear the sounds - institution sounds from the hallway. It is unfamiliar and not super fat. I would recommend a night, but not a number. Beds are ok, the toilets in the hallway and unfortunately the breakfast delivered outside and not super exciting.
