We have a family membership which is comparably very inexpensive and at first I wasn't sure how much we would use it, I mean, how many times would the kids actually enjoy going when most of the exhibits are permanent. They love this place! Even the permanent exhibits don't seem to get old for them. My kids are currently 11, 8, & 5 and we have been going for at least 4 years now. We all enjoy the traveling exhibits and especially the mini makers fair every July but the kids also enjoy the permanent exhibits and all the creative play options and for us adults it's a great option on rainy days when the kids need to get some energy out. Sometimes we bring friends and I can sit with my friend and watch the kids have fun while we talk. We have also enjoyed using the reciprocal membership in places like OK City, KC, Denver, and Indianapolis. Many of those museums have higher entrance fees than exploration place does but because we already had a membership here we got in free there and it made our vacation a little bit less expensive while giving us all great new experiences.

Very cool and interesting place! I haven't been in a few years but in the past they always had something new every time I came! I feel like I always take away something different from this place. It's fun for all ages. Would definitely recommend and will be going back! Such a great and pretty location, too.

Great place to take the kids and burn a few hours out of your day. Kids never seem to get bored with the activities available and there is a section that always changes every couple months. Those exhibits even keep me entertained. There is also movies to watch, a place to sit and have snacks, and a great program available for kids while school is out.

There is so much educational material packed into one place. It's hands on giving kids so much more than they could learn in just a classroom. They also have have attractions that change so it isn't just the same visit every time you go. Their aerospace section has really inspired my kids to look into aircraft careers.

The dome theater was amazing but freezing. There were so many activities and exibits I'm not even sure we saw them all in the 3 hours we were there. It was fun for all ages! If we lived in the area, we would buy a membership!

Bit expensive, but some events are fun. Ripley's believe it or not was fun and interesting. If they do any Halloween event this year, I hope they REALLY improve on it. Seemed like what they made most important, was the alcohol areas. Not really anything had fright to it. In a space like that, a haunted house type area would be great. Thought that's what the castle would be, but no jump scares, or very scary displays.

Great place for kids and adults. In addition to the awesome exhibits and shows, the Castle is amazing--the elementary kids will play there for hours. They also have a pre-school play area. Beautiful location, right by the Keeper of the Plains.

An awesome experience every time we visit! My kids, 3 & 6, love it here and ask to go every few days. They have a medieval castle with a dress up corner, play stockades & horse riding, a ball shooter, and three levels of castle floors that maze around. There are benches for the adults and video cameras to help keep track of the kids.
The best part (in my kids opinions is right next to the castle area. There are a few play areas specifically set up for babies while the oldest kids can have fun climbing the Kansas Skyline, building a tractor, playing shop keeper, pretend cooking & raising chickens, dress up, climb a grain elevator, and experiment with air currents by putting colorful handkerchiefs into the tunnels to watch where they shoot out.
There is also an aviation portion, miniature model of Kansas, prairie area with portions to explore bugs, rocks, dirt, vet care, dinosaurs, weather, and water play!
There is a gift store (doesn t carry much other than normal toys found in other stores), a cafe, and a very helpful and attentive staff!

One of our favorite Wichita attractions. My boys and I spend hours playing and learning even after dozen of visits. The new aviation exhibit has to be one of the best in the world (I saw it's far better than a comparable exhibit at the National Air & Space Museum). Love the travelling exhibit area keeps things fresh. Exploration Place has a huge picnic area, a fantastic playground (three structures for different ages/abilities), walking paths, and hills kids love. Great selection in the Explore Store; I greatly appreciate that you don't have to walk through the gift shop when you exit.

This place is sooo awesome I went for the first time as a kid and was amazed and i just recently went back with my younger siblings for a school activity and we had a blast. I absolutely love their model town. The only complaint I would have is that the gift shop prices are very high but with this place being as wonderful and informative as it is, that's not really a big deal.

We had an amazing time building gingerbread houses. We needed something to do while waiting for the ballet and found this just blocks from our hotel. Well organized and monitored. It was full of parents and children and until we stood up to leave had no idea how many had come in. Never felt crowded or rushed. Loved it. Wish we had more time to see the rest of the building.

We had so much fun visiting the museum today and look forward to a return trip. Our entire family had fun going through the castle, and the five and under room was perfect for our kids. Even on an extremely busy day there was more than enough to do and experience. Most everyone seemed to be having a great time.

This is basically a children's museum. The pre-school exhibits seemed basic for the size of the community and would benefit from closer supervision by staff or volunteers. Highlights are the Kansas in Miniature model-railroad exhibit and the aviation themed exhibits in the Boeing Pavilion. While this place is pretty good, I have seen better children museums that provide more immersive environments.

This place never ceases to amaze me. The kids love the castle and getting to dress up. The new aircraft section is amazing, my boys absolutely love it. The theater is pretty cool too and the traveling exhibits are always fun to go see.
