Exploration Place, The Sedgwick County Science and Discovery Center Review

Cool idea, wish there was re-entry for after naps. Pretty chaotic when we went, I like that it meshed museum with play, but for my age of kids (3 and 2) a lot of it was boring.

Nice show incredible movie but a bit pricy I would suggest going when not busy and pay the extra $2 for the movie even if you leave

A very good place for kids and adults and parents children and family's can go to all the time and have fun with their kids and family's and friends okay

Lots of great family activities. I love that they have a rotating exhibit so there's something new every 6 months. There have been lots of new additions and updates in the last 2 years. My only complaint is that the castle/kids area needs to see some of those updates and repairs.

Love Exploration Place, but they need to fix the littlee things. For example, the castle has multiple areas that have needed repair for months. These are maybe a few hours at most for said repairs. Overall positive family experience. For those with older kids, nap time is a great time to visit as things slow down a bit

This could be a fantastic venue - the building's beautiful, with great views of the river and an interesting design. But it's mostly empty, and many of the attractions feel thrown-together and shabby. I understand it may be worth the visit when special exhibitions are under way, but we won't be repeating the trip under other circumstances.

I love the exploration place because there is always something new

This actually nice place to take your kids there. Because there are so many things that kids can do. And also this place surrounded by nice natural environment. That environment make you relax down.

Great place. I wasnt sure about this place since we have a hands on kids museum where we live and we have visited it enough my daughter was bored of it. Not the case at all with exploration place. We went with my sister in law and all the kids. Everyone had a blast! My only regret is not getting there earlier in the day. Staff was great the place was very clean and it was do much fun !

Small but mighty, this museum has a lot to offer kids of every shape and size (and the young at heart)... It's hard not to love hands on science exhibits and a done theater (the image is projected onto a huge dome)?

Spent around 2 hours there. Plenty of stuff for the kid to see and learn about. Live science show was nice. Good amount of broken exhibits and some areas were pretty dirty. Regardless, a nice place to spend some time with the young ones.

So much fun and the traveling events always make it awesome.

Great learning experience, albeit from a very secular point of view.

We visited with 3 adults and 3 kids on a Monday. School kids on field trips were everywhere. The dome shows and the new exhibits were closed. Some of the exhibits were out of order, and the cool stuff was crowded. There was one small snack bar and the prices were high. It was clean though, even the bathrooms. The place was a hit for the elementary crowd. Prices were average for what you get. They offered a military discount.

Very informative staff. Tons of things to explore, even for adults!

It is definitely fun for younger children. We took our 2.5y/o son there and I think we stayed for nearly 3 hours! There is plenty to do to spark their imagination and peak their curiosity. We will definitely return.

Love going here with my family! Always a lot to learn, and the rotating exhibit makes it even better for going back time after time!

Fun, hands-on museum especially good for preschool and early elementary kids.

This place seems to just keep getting better and better. My kids had a blast, and it was fun watching them having fun.

This is a great place for fun learning. They really put time in to make it a great experiance for the whole family and price the experience for everyone to enjoy.

Brought 4 little girls under the age of 12, they all had a great time.

It'll never be the OKC Science Museum, but they've greatly improved and expanded over the years!! I am still pretty butthurt about them doing away with the cafe in favor of the awful snack cart, however they charge pretty fairly for the food.

We have a two year old and there was plenty to do for his age.

Fun, but old broken exhibits from their opening 15 years ago. The traveling exhibits are always fun, informative and fascinating.

My 10 month old loves the little kid play area, it's a perfect place for little ones to interact and play!

Ample parking, along the river walk, clean restrooms, a snack bar and tons of exhibits to keep children busy and having fun. My 8 year old would've been happy staying all day, however the 14 yo was bored after a couple of hours . Exhibits included learning about weather, airplanes, fossils, animal and plant science, Kansas native animals and plants, geology, erosion, damming water, lots of puzzles with different types of challenges, an area for pretend play and lots more.

It was cool for the kids but not what what it was when I was a kid.

Children can play with all kind of things and learn from them it's. fabulous!!!!

Really cute place. Not excellent for babies under 2 but kids 2+ there is tons of things to do. They do a great job with hands on activities and the exhibits are all in working condition and are a large variety of types.

I've only been to the dome theater, but I love it! We've seen several presentations in this theater with the most recent being Rock the Dome! It was a compilation of three Pink Floyd albums with graphics on the screen which were kaleidescope type images flowing in sync with the music. It was an incredible experience! There are several events coming up that sound like a great date night. Death by Chocolate in February and EP21 in January. We don't have children so I like that Exploration Place allows adults to enjoy the space kid free.

They opened the place just for middle schoolers, we had a great time. The place has changed so much since the last time we went many years ago.

Kids really like this museum. My favorite is the medieval castle area.

Great place for all ages with lots to do. I would recommend bringing a sack lunch.

The music exhibit was awesome! I wish there was a permanent dinosaur exhibit there with animatronic dinosaurs.

Very fun place! Good place to take children to learn! And, play a little also

The museum is housed in a unique building right on the river. We only explored the museum and didn t catch a show. It s a large hands on museum with plenty of educational opportunities for little ones. The staff was friendly enough, but done didn t seem like they cared and were just going through the motions of a job. The castle areas items were scattered everywhere. The Ripley s Believe It or Not section was super interesting and everyone was impressed with the robotic tallest man! Their flight area was informative and had lots of hands on activities with computerized education displays. Plus they had a remote control forklift that the kids could take turns driving. We spent an entire day here and had a blast!

i have yet to go to this place....and i can tell you i wont...I thought it would be funn because of the star warrs thing...so i got online to look into it and i was blow away by the prices REALLY. for a family place to visit the prices are way high......so i can tell you we will never be going to this place

Kids enjoyed their school field trip here. Lots of fun things to do! Only complaint being the prices of food and drinks as well as gift shop. Otherwise a great time!

Great interactive center that is entertaining for all ages.

Always a wonderful place to take the kids. There really is so much to do. You can get lost in the medieval castle for quite a while. If you have a super little one. The 5 and under area is always a blast! As a professional in the aerospace field, the aircraft manufacturing exhibit is extremely well thought out and interesting.
