Awesome fun for my family. Me and my kids had a blast
Definitely geared towards the kids so make sure you bring one with you
Theater is amazing
Property around is beautiful
favorite place ever totally worth a year membership exhibits change all the time my kids ask to go here at least twice a month
Good concept. Could be great. But its expensive and almost every interactive screen was broken or not working. Wasnt worth the money.
Fun place to spend the day with family. Rotating and fixed exhibits. Awesome play areas for the kids including a medieval castle and a farm/market area to play pretend and dress up. Recently updated exhibit for aerospace even has a flight simulator! Other great exhibits as well as an eatery and gift shop. Theatre for educational movies and a Pink FloydPrices are decent. Can take family of 4 for a whole day or fun for around $50. Outside is the Wichita Riverwalk, a playground with picnic tables and a mini golf course. Tons of fun to be had! Special events like Octoberfest for adults and Santa visits for the kids!!
I visited here with my 3 year old. I loved this place, it was just as much fun for me as it was for him. It's all about learning but in a fun way. They added the Kansas Kids Connect which is an area just for toddlers and babies. Everything is very hands on. We could spend all day in the Kids Connect. I just wish it was a larger space.
If you visit frequently, I'd recommend getting a membership. You will save a tremendous amount of money. Believe I paid $85 for mine..but that's good for a year, plus I can bring up to 10 kids!!! Need I say more?
Our family loves going to Exploration Place! Our kiddos are two and four and there is plenty for them to do! The "castle" area is huge and often has older kids playing in it. It's adult- sized, though, so I'm able to follow the kids around into the exhibit. It's got three levels to the castle area, so there is plenty of room to run and play. My kids like the Kansas Kids area the best. It's designed for children five and under, which keeps them from being run over by older kids. They have a market, hen house, air tunnels, climbing tree house area, even an infant circle. As a parent one of the things I love is that is enclosed with only one entrance. I can position myself there to ensure my kids can't escape and let them run and play. Other areas of Exploration Place will be gra when my kids get older and have more of an attention span. I like the airplane room and how it pertains to Wichita. The water exhibits, though small, are big hits with our kids. Finally, the miniature Kansas room is great, I especially love how is decorated for the holidays right now. A highly educational environment! Well worth the money of a membership if you live in Wichita! (Although a little pricey for a single day.)
Great place to go when it is really cold outside! (Or when it is really hot outside.)
Very fun and exciting for all my kids. Even the baby had a place to play. Price is a bit much but the exhibits are great and interactive.
I love this place it is a lot of fun. With my brother and sister and friends
Spooky science combined Halloween fun with educational tie ins. Kids loved it. Another win at Exploration Place.
So much fun! Educational, exciting, and everything a children s museum should be. Will most likely get a membership so we can come all the time!
So fun. Great on hot days, cold days or any day. Hands on fun for the kids! A place you don't have to say keep your hands to your self!
Nice place to spend time with family and friends but some facilities were not well-maintained.
Always such a fun time and get to learn at the same time!
Wonderful place for the family :)
I have always loved Exploration Place. I remember having a birthday party here as a kid and now I go with children I nanny. They are constantly changing and updating things. Love the new flight room, it was definitely time for an update in there. The travel exhibits are always super interesting and make the season pass worth it. Great for year round fun!
Love this place!! Amazing people and awesome exhibits for kids of every age!!!!
Great for big and small kids. Fun for adults too. Lots of interesting and hands on stuff. Free parking, easy to find. Close to down town and the water walk. It's in the same parking lot as the "keeper of the plains" a 400 plus foot metal statue at the fork of the river. Also worth looking at and is free too. Excellent place to spend a day at.
It's keeps the kids entertained with educational activities.
Kids had so much fun, employees were very informative also
The grands enjoyed the freedom to move around and touch everything. They played hard and even learned some new things!
I used to go here all the time as a kid. I would love to be able to start bringing my kids here one day. This place has a ton of exciting and fun things to do! I can literally spend all day here and probably never get bored or tired of the neat stuff.
Great experience, the sharks exhibit was cool and informative. Highly recommend
We visited with our two children and our nephew (ages 1, 2, and 8). They had ample areas for the toddlers to run and play. They had displays for Ripley's Believe it or Not that were awesome. The volunteers and staff were also really nice. They have a military and police officer discount too.
A mindfully curated place to open yourself to scientific concepts and ways of application.
My kids will happily play and explore here for hours! They are learning almost without realizing it! Not only are the permanent exhibits awesome, but the traveling exhibits and special events are fantastic! We love it so much we became members! Totally worth the money!!
A lot of interesting exhibits to check out. We
Came to see the rescue exhibit but wasn't as Good as I anticipated.
Love Exploration Place! We have the family pass. Great for too cold, too hot or rainy days...or when you have an hour or two between things and just don't want to go home to messy the house or spend money my husband also loves to bring the kids here when he's with them. My only complaint is that we have had to pay for a babysitter if she's bringing them by herself.
Exploration Place is great place for kids. There are plenty of hands on activities for children. We enjoyed the Super hero exhibit. You can take pictures with Batman, Ironman, and the Hulk. The wind tunnel was fun.The Kansas exhibit was neat. I liked the buffalo display.Exploration Place is reasonably priced for families. Also, it is near the Keeper of the plains. I would recommend that you do both.
We took our visiting 9 year old grandson & 4 hours flew by!! All three (Yes...Grandpa & Grandma too!!) of us had a blast!!! Our grandson keeps saying as we were leaving that he had soo much fun!!
Fun. Always something more. Much to learn and enjoy.
I'm so thankful for this place. There is always so much for my kids to do there and they change out the exhibits often so there's something new for the kids (and adults) to explore. The coolest thing, but far, was the body exhibit they had many years ago. They also have an amazing dome theater that literally surrounds you. Oh and don't miss their gift shop that is every nerd's dream shop! Seriously. Lots of super cool stuff in there!
Aside from their every day shuffle they also hosts really awesome events...like the annual Death By Chocolate event. It's on my bucket list to someday be able to afford a ticket to that.
Great educational activities to help children stay engaged. My children didn't want to leave.
There are so many things to learn about and so many things to do and interact with.. my grandkids have an absolute blast here!
I was only there for a half an hour because we went late, but I really enjoyed what I got to see, can't wait to go back.
My kids really enjoy EP. This is the annual pass we get for Christmas...the weather is always nice inside. ;) The science shows are fun.
Very nice museum! What's more is they take part in what they call the Blue star program in which military enter free. So we had a wonderful time and it didn't cost me a thing!
the first time I was there I was 6 years old and I loved it
They have really nice people that help you get your money
Was visiting Wichita, would recommend everyone go to this site. Very interesting.
Such a wonderful low cost activity for a cold day. My cousin and I had a blast. We loved watching Great White Sharks on the dome screen! Mini Kansas was phenomenal. So many things to do and see! It made my visit to Wichita even more enjoyable than it already was.
Went there for my 20 year high school reunion this year. It was an excellent facility for gathering. Had a fun time catching up with old friends and jamming to the 90's music.
Great for the young and old alike. Takes 3 or 4 hours to see and do everything.
Fun and educational. A little expensive but a lot of fun.
Way to expensive. Nothing ever changes, then when they do bring something new in they charge more then the cost of a IMAX movie. We only go once a year
I went with my 2nd.grade grandchild,it was my first time !! We had a great time and the shark movie in the dome was awsome!!
Lots to do for all ages and very educational for kids.
Great place, not just for kids. Always look forward to visiting.
Had never been before. Had a blast. Things for little ones all the way up to the adults.
Took our 2 year old here and had a wonderful time. Lots of hands-on, interactive areas. Spent an entire afternoon here and never got bored! Will be going back soon!
Its always the same stuff. Kids had fun but there are a lot of kids screaming and running around the play place part.Bring earplugs.
Love this place!! There is always something new every time we go
It's alright, but once you've been here once or twice you don't really need to come back. Also the mini golf course is really bad.
My girls, 4 and 6, absolutely LOVE coming to the Exploration Place. They always have a blast and as soon as we mention Sunday Funday, it is always one of the first options thrown out. The membership was super reasonable and we have used it a ton!
Thanks for all you do!
I went with my family because it was chilly outside & we were looking for something fun to do. Our original plan was to go to the zoo but it was too cold. We had kids ranging in age from 11 mo - 12 years. EVERYONE had fun. I will warn against taking smaller children to the show dome. The 3 year old was done 5 min into the show & the 7 year old fell asleep. There is something to do for all age groups & overall we had fun. We also grabbed a snack while we were there & it was surprisingly affordable. Exploration Place is handicap accessible throughout allowing fun to be had by all. That being said, there's a Mideveil Castle for tots with lots of stairs that would be difficult to maneuver in a wheelchair. Although there are a lot of activities on the ground level in that area. A good time was had by all.
