It has been a good experience dealing with Leeds motor company. James have been very professional and not pushy. Got a Citroen 7 seater with full MOT, full service and a years warranty. The car drives well ( although just a day since purchase). They had reasonable cars and their reviews speak for themselves, at the end of the day they are hard working people trying to make a living in a very competitive market. I will definitely recommend it to others.

So here's my experience with Leeds motor company! I travelled all the way up from south wales to Leeds to buy a 2016 peugeot 308 from Nick, I couldve bought a car from somewhere closer but from my first contact with nick he offered me a much better deal for my part exchange and did some work on the car I was buying to seal the deal (replace disks and pads). Not many people would literally put that much effort into a sale with someone they've never met. So thats the reason I was willing to do the 4 hour journey because nick is a genuinely nice guy and you don't come across them often. After I bought the car I did my journey home and distaster struck! Engine management light came on and the car was dying. I contacted nick and from that phone call he was there any time of day, I got the car checked out and turned out it was a very expensive common issue with the engine neither me or nick or anyone would've known it was going to happen, nobody's fault just car nature. So me and nick spent a few phone calls going over plans and ideas and I put the car in for repair at my local peugeot garage because we knew the car wouldn't make a 4 hour journey and nick and company paid the bill no hesitation. Now you will not get aftercare like that anywhere else, anyone can sell a car but not everyone can offer the level of support after the sale like nick does! I can't recommend these enough and personally I doubt I would buy a new car anywhere else in the future. I hope my story gives you all an insight on the level of service leeds motor company can offer.

GOT RIPPED OFF !! Bought a car told was in good condition. Only to find the car breaks down within a few months and gear box broken. Major modifications made to the car and engine not disclosed at point of sale. Engine completely gone months later, and car no longer any use. When contacted for help, LMC took no responsibility for incorrect information given or issues with the car. NEVER BUYING ROM THEM AGAIN! WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THEM AT ALL!!!!!
Bought myself a nice 2012 diesel Astra from these guys over a month ago, despite having gone along to look at a 2009 model. It took me a while to decide which to buy. I wasn't hassled while browsing and was tossed the keys to the two models I was drawn to. I could take a look inside at my leisure. When I asked to test drive both, it was arranged immediately. I finally went for the pricier, newer model, but it was good to have had time to mull it all over, without any heavy-arm sales stuff. The paperwork process was done efficiently, I could review all the documents (SH etc), and I even took out a warranty (received confirmation docs in post a week later). So all in a good buying experience. Any criticisms? Well, the car I bought was very, very low on fuel during my test drive and also after I collected it. I realise that dealers are only selling the car, but I don't think it would harm the profit margins to chuck a fiver's worth of fuel into the tank before customer collection. I was actually a bit nervous about driving it to the nearest petrol station (not knowing the area very well). But it all worked out, anyway. I filled up and have enjoyed weeks of trouble-free motoring since. Recommended.
Bought a Vauxhall Corsa off this company Kevin the salesman mislead us we paid a deposit off 500.00 pounds Kevin mislead us on the admin fee never mentioned also stated not Feb 2019 but failed to mention on mot adviser off disc brakes need replacing when questioned on this he replied we sell road legal cars and don't need to replace . We had paid the 500 pound deposit and this company was not willing to replace discs which was deemed faulty he was arrogant and did not care after spending 5300.00 pounds I find it disgusting was not prepared to lose my deposit advise to anyone else do not use this company also would like to add had the car 6 weeks engine light failure 160.00 cost to me just after one month warranty yes I repeat one month and told lies by Kevin about discs and Chris had no idea booked me in for discs then cancelled saying they had done them I repeat to anyone do not buy from this company ever

Leeds Motor Company were one of the best I've dealt with - we got an exceptional car at a good price and Kevin was more than patient chasing up a money transfer from Currency Fair to their account and in providing me someplace to chill out for a couple of hours whilst waiting. I bought my first car at Leeds Motor Company. I went to see it myself, and all but fell in love with the shiny red car that was just about within my budget. I was offered a cup of coffee, and made to feel very comfortable. I bought a mechanic-friend the next day to check it and was made to feel very comfortable to do so. Nick spent time with me to ensure I felt comfortable, knew what I was doing and patiently answered all of my questions. They cleaned the car to the perfection of my standards and saw to a full MOT and servicing before I drove away with the car.
I ve waited a month before writing this review and have since covered the low mileage car with an additional 5k miles in foreign countries. Although a relatively cheap and just 1.25 engine, my shiny (freshly buffed to look like new) red car felt exceptionally solid on the road and made me proud. The only hitch we had was my battery dying which clearly meant it wasn t charging despite the hundreds of miles we were covering daily. We paid RAC prices, Nick sent to me money to cover costs of a locally brought one - I found this very considerate and fair and typical of the fair and professional way I had been treated all the way through.
My husband and I have just bought a car from Kevin at Leeds Motor Co. I must say it a simple , uncomplicated experience. We test drove the car we wanted,negotiated a reasonable price for our car and that was that. There was no typical 'car salesman' talk-which was refreshing.
What a great dealership. We checked the dealership out beforehand and I am so glad we went there! I bought a car for myself in no time. All the paperwork was done there and then - seamless! Only needed to sort my own insurance out. Nick was very friendly to us and if there is a chance for a deal - LMC will do their best to make you one. I've had a few bad experiences with car dealers and I have to admit that they make me believe in car dealers again :) they gave the time I wanted with the car I was looking for and, straight away hassle free, they let me go for a drive test on my own.

I part exchanged my own vehicle and it was so easy. Kevin was there the day I saw my new vehicle down to the day I picked the vehicle up and he made the process so easy! The day I picked the vehicle up he did everything for me including cancelling my old tax, starting my new tax, having the vehicle cleaned etc. It's always risky buying a second hand vehicle but I absolutely love my new baby(3 months old to me now) and cant thank you enough. Honest, helpful and really knowledgeable. We went in to browse around looking for a car for my dad, walked out an hour later leaving a deposit on the ideal car dad was looking for at the right price. Since then dad has been back to some advice on some of the extra's he didn't know how to use, the guys explained everything clearly and demonstrated to my dad whilst dad enjoys their tea making skills. A mixed bag about this used car garage. Good contact when enquiring about vehicle and up to the point they receive your cash, also when I was trying to get my money back.
I had a problem with the engine within 6 days, tried to claim my money back under the consumer rights act 2015, they weren't keen on doing this, came up with excuses about how "it's a used car", "it's 9 years old" but when I was buying it, the vehicle was awesome.
I know the law consumer rights covers you for 30 days to get your money back and a full refund if the vehicle is unfit for purpose, and you're are also covered for 6 months if a fault transpires as long as it not general maintenance and has to make the vehicle unfit for purpose.
Also claimed it had to be a significant fault, and flashing dash warning lights don't mean there's is a fault so the owners manual must be wrong.
Anyhow found common ground, got my own garage to investigate and prove the engine fault and paid for it fixing myself, as I liked the vehicle and was using the act to get them to listen.
To be fair, I was offered a repair, but this came once I had already told them I had instructed my garage to repair it. It's also the used car game, people generally get rid of the cars when they foresee problems.
Good communication ? Yeah to be fair, when they want your money and if they think they will have to pay some out.
Would I buy from them again ? Nope there are better used garages in Leeds with good reviews which I have also bought from, its unfortunate they had the vehicle I wanted.
Would I trust them to do a repair ? Nope, apparently have full time mechanics but send their vehicles off site to do MOTs.
Would have probably given them more stars if they offered to pay me for the repair or even for the parts, but you can't teach good customer service. Try avoid if you can or proceed with caution and read up on your rights, don't be fobbed off.

Purchased a Jaguar XF from them this month. Had previously been to a main dealership who were unable to supply a vehicle due to the stock being advertised on their website already having being sold. Saw the vehicle I wanted on the Leeds Motor Company website. Spoke to Kevin on the phone he confirmed it was onsite and available, so down I went to see same. Very friendly welcome was left to inspect at my leisure and take for a test drive. Kevin took me through the purchase and was extremely helpful. Sorted it there and then, and two days later after they did their pre-sale check and polish I collected same (a day earlier than anticipated). A pleasant experience with no fuss or hassle.

Bought a vw Tiguan from the dealership last month after driving past a couple of times. I decided to bite the bullet and go have a nosey. I don t really do car dealerships due to them genuinely being pushy trying to get you to sign that day. This all changed when a gentleman with glasses called Kevin came out for a chat. He offered me a coffee before he even asked me which vehicle I was interested in, which I kindly obliged. He then explained everything about the car mileage service history etc. Couldn t of felt more comfortable and he really new his stuff. All I can say is I bought the vehicle and am very happy with it. This was my first experience of purchasing a car from a showroom. I learned of them through searching the net for a particular vehicle I was looking for, and they happened to have one.
We were greeted by Nick who made us feel very comfortable at the showroom. I had a wonderful experience. Nick delivers an incredible service and gives a very pleasant experience. I can't say enough about Nick as my sales contact. He was outstanding. No slick sales gimmicks, no pressure, no attempts at manipulative ploys. Just great, accommodating service. It sounds like a cliche, but we hit it off like this guys been my friend for years. And trust me, I'm a skeptical type of personality. I ended up purchasing the vehicle I was interested in, for a price that I was comfortable with. No hassles, relaxed negotiations. Nick went above and beyond. Unbelievable! Gave me complete peace of mind, which we all know, is close to priceless. Overall excellent service. Nick is a genuine person.

I bought my car from Leeds Motor Company in Kirkstall Road. My sales rep was Kevin a very friendly man who fought my corner to the very last minute. For days I had already lost hope and was less confident that I would still buy the car I wanted but he was more confident than I ever was. Always cheering and assuring us that everything will be ok. I am extremely happy with my purchase and even more happy because I was served by him. All I can say is that his customer service is excellent, and I am glad that my brother introduced me to the company.
I picked up my car yesterday and I drove 5 miles home. This morning I get in it so I can go to the petrol station and car won t start because fuel level is too low, so now at 8 1/2 months pregnant I need to get to petrol station and carry a Jerry can home. To say I m not happy is an understatement. Other than that my sales rep was very friendly and under other circumstances would have rated higher.
Horrendous experience, please avoid regardless of how good the deal may look. The change in attitude once they had my money was shocking!
Bought a 2011 Insignia (40k miles) thought it was a good deal at the time, however quickly realised I had been conned.
As I got in the car (un-valeted!) for the first time I noticed one of the keys were broke, I immediately raised this with them and they explained this wouldn t be covered under the warranty! This is where I saw the change in attitude.
Drove it home and heard a humming noise coming from the engine rang Kevin straight away who said he was busy and that I would have to ring back Monday and book it in the garage. Rang the garage Monday and the engineer rudely made me aware that it was a used car and therefore I should expect issues. When I explained what the issue was he said if it isn t causing an issue they couldn t fix it. I decided to get this sorted at my local garage as I did not want them touching my car.
A few days later the car wouldn t start, battery had gone! I jump started it, went to work and it died again on the way home. Called Kevin who said I would need to take it to their garage (which is only open in the week) for an inspection. As I would have had to take a day off work I reluctantly bought a new battery and had it fitted in my local garage.
At this point I submitted a complaint asking for compensation, the response I eventually got stated I have no idea why you would think you should have compensation this says a lot about the companys values!
6 weeks on I have now discovered the car leaks coolant, this means I can t use the car until it is repaired! I contacted Kevin, however he explained that they only have a 28 days warranty and as I am outside of it they are unable to do anything. He was extremely rude and offensive. I asked for a refund as all this car had done is cost me money, however he explained they do not do such a thing and said it was a stupid suggestion!
I am now taking legal action against the company as they are not trading legally, as I said above please avoid!
The salesman becomes your best friend and acts like your friend but Infact he is a liar failing to point our several issues and then denying it. I am disgusted at how the salesman lied and played daft. Sent many emails in the hope getting to the director but it turns its the saleman answering the emails.
Avoid this garage or take a mechanic with you and get a a big discount. The cars are cleaned very well but that's it.. All the faults remain and garage does nothing to put the car right. Pre preped vehicles bought in so the garage is simply flogging then on at inflated prices with no warranty and most certainly non existent customer service.
I'm sure if the owner knew Mr Gilpin would not be best happy
I see my original review has been removed, I was sold a skoda fabia that had suffered accident damage & had been resprayed on the front n/s corner which was more obvious due to the state of the engine bay, there was no mention of the damage in the advert & it became apparent that the car had suffered a pretty big thump at sometime in it's life
After confronting the owner/manager about the state of the car he became very defensive & only agreed to a refund after the threat of legal action, two stars purely because I got a refund without a legal battle & I'm not saying don't buy a car from here but give it a thorough check before handing over any money, if no one believes me then you find video evidence on youtube of the damage

I just bought a car from here. I had looked all over for the car I wanted. I seen a few and the ratings of the other places were so poor I didn t dare spend my money. I came across Leeds motor company by searching car dealers in Leeds. They had the car I wanted and the reviews were really good. I booked to go and look at the car, straight away they let me take it for a test drive no problems. They were great from start to finish. Nick was really helpful, easy to talk to and not at all pushy. He put the car through an MOT and a service ready for me picking it up. We noticed one of the tyres were a bit worn on the front... didn t even question it and put a new tyre on. Overall great service. I would definitely recommend!
Bought my car 3 months ago from Leeds Motor Co and must say I am very happy with the car. They helped and advised me on what would best suit my needs and was also very polite and helpful. The price was very good and when I picked it up it was nice and clean. They replaced 2 tyres on the car and put a new brake discs and pads. I didn't think they would have done this but they said all cars get inspected to MOT standard and if something was needed it was done then. A happy customer

I bought a BMW 1 Series from the salesman Kevin about a year ago. The car was handed to me with so little fuel i didn't even make it 1 mile down the road to the nearest petrol station. within the first couple days the car went into limp home mode because they had pressure washed the engine bay and got water in the spark plugs and coil pack. Due to circumstances I only ended up driving the car short journeys for 6 months - before i was given a company car. I have now gone to sell the car on having no use for it - to find the drive shaft was apparently on its way out for a long time, along with several other issues. The car was bought from an auction after i was told otherwise and the under sill of the car was completely shot. I was also told the Drivers Manual would be sent to me in the post but i never received it. Worst decision I ever made, Stay Clear.
