The owner of the BnB that we stayed at recommended this place. The gentleman who took our order, Mr. Tilak, received us really well. My wife and I, being Indian, found it very suitable to our palate and like the food very much. Ordered chicken, egg fried rice and veg rice. Very tasty. Recommended by #SollyDj

Terrible service, to the point of rudeness:

I had an experience first dining in-house where the service was great, as was the whole meal. Sadly a terrible home delivery meal ruined the reputation of the restaurant for me and my friends.

Initially we were prepared to give Everest some slack for the mistakes that were made, namely we had a 1h 27min wait having been promised 30-35 mins and we paid for a dish that then wasn't delivered!

Of course this is far from ideal, but we thought perhaps some orders just slip through the net, maybe it was someone new who took our order etc. However, the reaction I got from the manager was truly terrible. We didn't get refunded for the missed dish nor offered compensation (both were refused when asked for).

The thing that really capped it off was when I was on the phone to the manager (being incredibly polite despite being quite annoyed and hungry by this time) he had the cheek to rush me off the line - just a shade away from hanging up on me.

The summary of my calls up to the dish arriving (thanks to call logging!):
Call to place the order at 2004.
Asked to call a different number which I did at 2006 and was told the food would be here in about 30-35 minutes.
At 2100 a call to see where the food was, told the driver was just leaving.
At 2123 another call abut this order.
And at 2131 the food arrived, minus one main dish.

Having thought we'd found a great restaurant we now no longer want to give Everest any more of our money, sadly.

Shame about this. We have been having really good meals from this restaurant for several years but things seem to have gone down hill. I received a meal containing a LOT of beans in which was not in the description - they filled over half the meal with them and I cannot stand beans. Another meal ordered recently had a piece of plastic in it somehow which I nearly accidentally ate. Put off.

Spacious and friendly restaurant in an old pub. Food was very good, with large portions and very good service. They serve Aloo Tama Bodi which is the mark of a proper Nepalese restaurant IMO. A bit out of the way, and street parking looks a bit sketchy (but was fine), but a place definitively worth checking out for good Nepalese food in Oxford.

Brilliant. Absolutely brilliant! I started ordering from them since Oct'18 and after trying a few other Indian/Nepalese restaurants in Ox, I think it's top notch. Today, I called them at 2:20PM to come in, when they close at 2:30PM...they kept the place open for me an extra half hour. FInd me another Nepalese/Indian restaurant that'll do it for a customer and I might give it a try.

It seems empty a lot though, perhaps due to it's location being a bit further out from the city centre, but trust me, the food's amazing. I don't usually write reviews, but given the extra effort they put in everytime I visit - I almost had to.

Worst dining experience you could think of. After reading the reviews here decided to take my parents out for dinner. Food was bland, smell of meat alarmed me before eating. Despite being very quite it was very difficult to catch the attention of waiter. Who was busy chatting with other staff and did not mimd about us as we were only one of few customers. Have a feelingall good feedbacks have been left by friends and family.

Amazing food every time! Our favourite Nepalese in Oxford! Service is quick and prices are affordable. Menu is varied so lots of options! The chef even cooked us a dish that is not on the menu anymore! We love going there!

My wife and I went at lunchtime, mid-week and being the only ones there we feared the worst. Food and service were BRILLIANT, FANTASTIC and all other such adjectives. Have already recommended it to others!

Good Food, but poor service. Its been the 5th time in a row that the food arrived too late (45 minutes!) , they only offer hilarious excuses. They pretend to offer extra food/discounts for your next order; just a joke, they don't keep their promise...Rather order with some reliable restaurants.

IF YOU ARE DAIRY ALLERGIC DO NOT COME HERE! More than half of the menu has dairy in it. The food was okay, but the servings were either too big or small. The noise from the neighbouring pub was almost unbearable. I would never eat here again.

It used to be my favourite place to take out. Last few orders noticed quality of food droped badly. Food became dull and greasy, lack of flavours and portion has reduced. When i pointed out problems to management hoping they will improve thier service manager started arguing with me and hang the phone on me. Totally shocked with thier behaviour, luckily there is other places with much better food and good customer service. Will not reccomend this place, avoid it all cost.

What happened here? Once the food was really good and you couldn't get a seat without booking ahead at busy times and there were always plenty of people there. Now the food is still good, it's as least as good as some new arrivals I town and is cheaper ... but it's often empty or nearly. Why? Go here, the dishes and flavours are excellent. It's been good for decades... its consistently worth going to. Suggest you rediscover this place

One of my favourite curry houses, if not, the #1 curry house for me in Oxford. To be totally honest there are times where I forgot which curry I had gotten before and they taste similar-ish but it's amazing. Also try their sweet naans!

Some of the best, lightest, healthiest, most wholesome curries I have ever had (and I have spent a year in India and Nepal). The lekali mushrooms are sublime, the bara is mouthwatering, the leek and mushroom rice is a meal in itself - and they're just the starters and sundries. Authentic tastes and genuine Nepali staff, along with a bonus pool table and real ale on tap, make this an all-round winner, and the takeaways are a fantastic habit to get into too

The staff are really friendly and the food is great. It is not usually very busy due to fairly hidden location. Good if you like conversation with your friends, not so good if you want lively atmosphere.

I had the vegetarians Momo's, the chicken biryani (the owner was kind to substitue the vegetable sauce with raita), and chilli chicken. The momo's very okay, but the biryani was not much to write home about. It's not the worst I've had, but it's definitely not all that great.

I've had several meals here, each one incredibly delicious. Recently, had an issue with Deliveroo regarding the orders, and Everest again was fantastic in helping us to resolve the problem. 5/5 for food, 5/5 for service.

Visit regularly, love the food, it's our go-to curry place, good for really late eating and (apparently) takeaway. The food is always so fresh. The setting (large ballroom) can be rather dauntingly empty later at night, but I've even grown to love that.
