I dont normally do reviews but felt that my experience at EWG deserved one. I made a purchase of a luxury watch, which I loved the look and its features, however after wearing it for a day and half I new I had made a mistake and did not wear comfortable on my wrist as it was an oversized model.. I called the owner - Shonie and told him of my dilemma and asked if it was to late to swap to another watch that could better suit . He obliged and allowed me to swap without making a loss in the transaction, which I felt was very decent of him as he didn't have to do it. I highly recommend EWG for your next timepiece as it was pleasurable experience with no pressure and the team are friendly, knowledgeable and courteous. They seem to get a good supply of current models, especially ones that are hard to get, which were sold originally from local AD. Just one word of advise, please take your time in the shop to try the watch to ensure that it wears comfortably on your wrist. Many thanks to Shonie and his team....Vince

Bought an Omega Seamaster though Adam- was super quick and easy to deal with. Watch arrived at my house the following day and is the best packing I have encountered. Extremely secure and padded really well.

Was texted by EWG to come after 3pm to have extra links fitted to my Rolex bracelet by Shonie. When at 3.25pm I entered I said I had to meet Shonie about fitting the links. One of the men in corridor raised hand and said he was Shonie but he had no time for me I had to wait or come on another day. When I tried to find out how long I would wait because I had to go back to my patients (I am a doctor and cancelled patients' appointments to come to the city)) he said that he was doing business deal worth $10,000 and that he DID NOT LIKE ME and that I should leave the premises because he didn't want to do any business with me anymore! When I asked him, since I was polite towards him, why he was fuming and behaving so hostile towards me he just told me TO LEAVE HIS BUSINESS' PREMISES. When I asked what I have done he repeated that he "didn't like me and didn't want to do any business with me" for a meagre couple hundred dollars. I was never abused for nothing like this in my life. I do not think anybody should go there if the shop owner (and I learned Shonie is the owner) behaves so arrogantly towards his customers. Maybe he had a difficult day but this does not excuse his behaviour. At Rolex shop I had the link fitted and thanked for coming.
So if you want to be treated like a customer do not go to the European Watches Gallery and certainly avoid Shonie and his temper...
I am pretty sure that there will be "Response from the owner" (which is Shonie Herbath) below this review that this is an exaggeration, not true and that nobody should do business with me (see below what he wrote under Glen L review as it documents very well the vindictiveness of his character). But unfortunately for him all what I wrote above is true to the word. . If he tries to deny it I would tell all licenced Rolex shops, which redirect customers wanting to sell their used Rolex watches, to never recommend the European Watch Gallery. To me it looks like the money changed Shonie. Hope he is honest enough to apologise for his unprovoked arrogant behaviour and try in future to be nice to customers... like he was at the Armadale Watches before 2015.

PS. Well, well, well. As you can see below Shonie decided to respond as predicted, i.e. with lies. After all he is never wrong (refer to his vindictive response to a review by Glen L below. Also check his response to Rick Thatcher: he is the owner that is "unaware" of poor customer service at his business and "feels sorry for inconvenience" but does not apologise or promise to improve the service! ). He lies that I "stormed" into his shop. How is it possible to "storm in" if there is an automatic security lock fitted on the front door and the door is operated by staff and can be opened only by the staff from inside for the client to enter?!
He also lies that I "demanded" to be seen immediately "because I am a doctor". I did not. Likewise he lies that I "disrupted his conversation with a client" - he was in the corridor and raised his hand when asked by other staff about the purpose of my visit I said that I came to see Mr Shonie to fit extra link to my Rolex bracelet as arranged by Adam! And his very nice client told Shonie (out of his own volition and not pressed by myself since I had already said that I was happy to wait) to fix my bracelet first and then deal with him so if Shonie lost this client it was not because of me but because he didn't like the offered deal. Shonie also lies that I demanded that the link is fitted immediately. I was never shown the link, did not pay for it so how could I demand for it to be fitted immediately?!. Mr Herbath's lies are now exposed for everyone to see what an dishonest and vindictive person he is. I, however confirm again and stand by my account of the incident. I am sure if that "lost client" sees what I wrote he will confirm the truth of it. I also suggest that his staff check the security camera record of my interaction with him to see what a recalcitrant liar he is...!

King of watches , great bloke to talk to brought A Rolex GMT Master ll. Half gold still getting used to the watch , Man this watch strands out Like A Big Set Of Dog's !!!!!! In Low lighting conditions his prodigy , Lee knows about watches again sorry to keep asking how to set the GMT Function still trying to get my nut around it , but hopefully by Father's day will have masted the concept ,but then again their is always Christmas !! I had several transactions with Shonnie and Bruce, first being back in late 2008. Product, knowledge, service and shipping were always above expectations. If you re after nice PP or other high end watch, these are the boys to come to. I read some reviews and shake my head. Thanks for providing us with great watches and service.

I came upon this business via a Google search. I found that their website was fantastic with a great stock inventory and a detailed explanation of each item in stock. When I went to the shop in person I received an old-fashioned personalized service that one rarely encounters these days. It is clear to see that Bernard loves the watches that he stocks and has a great love for his job.

I just picked up a beautiful Black Bay GMT in perfect condition from European Watch Gallery I couldn't be happier. I was so impressed by the professional treatment I received from the sales team especially from the owner Shonie. I look forward to buying more watches here in the future.

Adam put a watch on sale I happened to see it at just about It s posted. Within one minute, I asked a few standard questions Adam tended me but all questions were ignored. Not too long after, he told me his boss answered a phone call from someone who s going to view it tomorrow and the watch is on hold. I m pretty sure I was the first one to reach out. No respect to first come first serve chronological principle. The owner sure can do whatever they want, I just put it out there I don t appreciate the way they do business.

If you're in the market for a quality timepiece you have to visit the lads. Plenty of mad stock with great advice.

Amazing customer Service from the team at EWG. Very happy customer and will definitely be recommending to others.

Shonie and his team provide an extremely unprofessional and unscrupulous service. A few weeks ago I called up to purchase a watch at the end of day over the phone with Shonie. Shonie assured me that the watch was mine and to just fix up payment the next morning. When I called to fix up payment Shonie said that he had to take it to the Rolex Service Centre to be looked at. I said that I definitely wanted to purchase the watch still as it was still under warranty with Rolex and to let me know when he hears back from Rolex. As the Rolex Service Centre normally get back to you within about a week listing any problems I called the European Watch Gallery a week later to find out what was wrong with the watch. I spoke to Bruce who said he would get Shonie to call me back. I called each week for a few weeks and spoke to Bruce each time who told me the watch was still with Rolex and he said that he would get Shonie to call me back about what is wrong with the watch. Four weeks of Shonie avoiding returning my calls I finally am able to speak to Shonie who tells me he has sold the watch to someone else. I will never buy a watch from this business again. Shonie did not apologise for the way he handled this and instead said it is just a watch and means nothing. I told him that his business is the most unprofessional and unscrupulous I have ever dealt with. I highly recommend people not to buy from this business.

Purchased a Speedmaster Reduced off Adam. Considering I was interstate the transaction was flawless and the watch did not disappoint when it arrived. Would definitely purchase through him and the team again.

Probably the most friendly service Ive had in a while. I came to get a leather watch strap swapped over and they were just so generous with their time. They also have a cool selection of high end second hand watches. I saw a rose gold Daytona that looked amazing. Given the attitude present at luxury watch shops, this place is wonderful on the service front.

Bought my first Rolex here but did not find the experience that pleasant. The staff seemed very standoff-ish when I was asking questions about the watch and warranty they might provide when asking about warranty the salesman seemed to dive straight into his usual spiel about how it is usually due to the wearer not taking care with the watch and basically saying they wouldn t do anything to help. Also when asking about what the different condition ratings of the watch meant since i could not find a single hairline scratch and i assumed it has been buffed out but the salesman advised me it s because they like to manage the expectations of their buyers which just felt like a complete lie.
It s a shame because they always have interesting pieces come and go.

Imagine you had a Big Brother whom you could trust completely and who knew everything about watches and who would always help you out whether it was changing a watch strap or buying a solid gold Rolex. Someone who always had time for a chat and who would help you out in buying a watch even if it wasnt one of his. Imagine that you could trust him absolutely to always look after your best interests every single time you bought a watch from him or sold one to him....

I just purchased my third watch from the European Watch Gallery - sight unseen.
My first was a Rolex GMT II Batman, the second a Rolex Sky Dweller (gold) and third a Rolex Sea Dweller (43mm).
In each case the high definition photos were accurate and their description as pristine in each case spot on.

They are a pleasure to deal with, very professional and in each case shipped the watches interstate with no drama and a minimum of fuss.

I have visited the store a few times whilst on business in Melbourne and have always been well received by both Shonie and Bernard - without them knowing I was a repeat customer.
