Some of their paramedics are very under trained! Not a good experience at all! The ones I am talking about need to find another line of work! They need more extensive training of some kind!
ETMC-EMS
A note of thanks to the staff of ETMC ambulance service, Tyler Texas. On the 7th of this month, I was with my brother in a doctors surgery when he collapsed with hypovolemic shock. The ambulance and paramedics arrived within a few minutes, inserted IV. Their quick response and performance saved his life. Even after a hectic shift, Nurse Leah Garreth visited us in ER to check on his condition. A special thanks to Leah and the team, we will be forever grateful.
My insurance company paid the U T Health Ambulance Service the usual any customary amount and sent me EOB saying that I owe no money. U T Health ambulance service said that they don't have a signed contract with Cigna and that I owe the difference. What makes UT Health ambulance service different from the U T Health Hospital. The hospital had no problem accepting my insurance companies money as full payment. THIS IN NOT RIGHT! I hope that I get to have my day in court.
These drivers need to pay attention to parking. Ive had to make them move from blocking me several times; these are not screaming emergencies and there is plenty of open parking closer than my spot to the apartments. I called the number and was put on hold forever.
They were so helpful and reassuring to me and my sister. wonderful people
The EMS workers acted like they didn't know what they were doing. My son had another febrile seizure, and i told them that, yet they still didn't give him anything to try to reduce his fever and even left him fully clothed under a blanket. This was his 5th febrile seizure (yes we're getting further diagnosis on this) and from previous ones, i know that he needs to be stripped down to his underwear and definitely not be under a blanket. Very nice people, just seem under-trained. Also, the billing with EMS is absolutely RIDICULOUS. It's been over a month since he was on the ambulance and i STILL have not received a bill for it. Thankfully i'm a responsible adult and called to see about it. If there was anyway for us to NOT use this EMS service, i would.
ETMC is really bad at billing. To being with the main hospital Never sent me a bill to my house after I went to the hospital. After never receiving a bill from the hospital in the mail of what I owe I was called by a collections agency that I was passed to a collections agency for never paying a bill that I never received in the mail. Now on top of that ETMC's EMS department has also sent me to collections after paying on the bill for a little more than a year now and I some how didn't receive a bill in the mail for me to pay again the next month and they then sent me to collections also. ETMC's Billing department needs some help. Good luck if your insurance doesn't cover something with ETMC.
843 was the team that came to my families aid. It was Nan s 90th birthday and she had a fall unfortunately. What pleasant guys! They blew her a birthday balloon and had charming smiles to boot. Thanks guys you re all appreciated. -Jessi
