Me, @ 40 years old, & my 14 year old cousin were amazed by magic and gut busted with non stop humor. A must see for an Austin trip.

Good fun with friends and family. Highly suggest catching a show.
Wow place was amazing, I loved the overall atmosphere. The show was very interesting and exciting it consisted of different performances; magic, comedy, standup and skits I would definitely go back!!
Hilarious! Went with my friends for a bachelorette party and we are so glad we did. They do shout outs too.
Visiting Austin. This is our SNL cast of not ready for prime time players.
A must see ATX experience! Great entertainment, comedy and magic!
Great atmosphere and the skits are adult but not too raunchy. Very good magician with several good acts throughout the evening. We all thoroughly enjoyed it. The comedy is right up-to-date with the current events.
OMG!!!! WHAT FUN! I went in blindly not knowing much about the venue or show and man, was i surprised. Show and acts are fabulous, funny and entertaining. If you need a good laugh, go here!
Excellent show!! It was funny and the magic was incredible!
Hilarious! This was a fantastic show and I highly recommend it! There are songs, dances, magic tricks, comedy, and they involve a few audience members. Drinks in the cafe when you arrive and you can bring them into the theater with you. Parking ramps nearby.
I mostly come here for SXSW events, but on the rare occasion will pop in during the year for random events. The place is always a very inviting area when you come in. They do have a smoking patio for those that still do, and it's not far from their bar, where they also serve snacks. The drinks are decently priced as are the snacks. The seating is one issue i would have with the place, but after a few drinks you tend not to notice being uncomfortable. Definitely recommend this place is you ever have a chance to go.
This was one of the funniest shows I've ever seen. I wasn't sure what to expect when I booked the tickets, but I was cracking up the whole show. The cast is incredible. Do yourself a favor and book it while in Austin... you won't regret it!
Esther's Follies was one of the best, compilation of music, comedy, magic and song, that I've seen in ages!
I will ALWAYS return to see another show! I'd recommend it to anyone and everyone for a great evening of fun entertainment!
I funny funny funny, as you enter its chaos, a bar some space in different areas people coming and going, toilets and noise like most good theaters, bench and cinema style seating and a small stage with great comedians. We saw 6 comedians in an hour at a sxsw event and we saw a full program last year. Good quality work and a great laugh.
Definetly a unique, vibrant, not overly priced show!
What a great show! Love the creative use of the stage environment (indoor/outdoor) - so clever. I laughed, I cried... from laughing. Bravo!
Great time had by all! Eclectic and funny. Very liberal, if that's an issue for you. Wasn't for me. Knocking one star off because the seats are not very comfortable, but still worth going!
VERY Liberal show tonight.. Very disappointing. Jokes can go both ways and make people laugh. Unfortunately Esther s is very one sided and has a very pointed agenda. Will not be coming back
Went with friends who had a Groupon to one if the shows and we really enjoyed ourselves! Definitely a fun place to take out of town guests to show them a little bit about Texas. The location in on E. 6th, so just know that you will be walking by drunk college kids to get to your car. Other than that, the show is amazing with plenty of laughs and the crew does a very good job of mixing things up!
Very entertaining. Great price for the value of the show. Good view of the entertainment anywhere in the venue.
When visiting Austin, make time to grab some friends and go see Esther s Follies!!!! Near several hotels and located on the east end of 6th Street, there are parking lots nearby if you re driving into downtown. There are refreshments sold on the premises and allowed into the theater. The show was highly entertaining and wasn t restricted to the stage, but also to the audience, windows and street outside. The material is constantly updated so topics are always current and hilarious. The magic was fun to watch and the performers very talented. Can t wait to go again- highly recommend!!!
If you live in Austin and have never seen this show, see it. It's hilarious. Don't go if you're Greg Abbott.
Great show! Hysterical and totally worth the price of admission!
This political satire is a fun night out in Austin. I would recommend republicans probably avoid it
You will laugh yr pants off. World class magic. Very entertaining and live!
A talented and hilarious bunch. Never a dull moment.
I always love the shows here. Great sketch comedy and magic.
I had not Bern in a while and they are still amazing.
Funny and fun even though there was a liberal agenda.
Funny as always. No one is safe in here. They make fun of everyone, as it should be.
The show was fantastic. made us laugh out loud.. would highly recommend it..
One of the best experiences ai have ever had. Can't wait to go back!
Esther's Follies is one of the best shows in Texas. Definitely not for children (or staunch Republicans) it offers some of the most hilarious and entertaining acts including singing, magic, and variety acts. Would absolutely recommend to anyone visiting Austin!
Lots of fun, lots of energy. Really good magic tricks. A very hard-working cast. You're not from Texas, so a few of the jokes went over our heads, but all in all we had a very good time.
Absolutely hilarious, very original, and evolves every time you go!
Fun show, good singing, good magic, comedy 99% politcal though so if you dont follow politics you dont get any jokes
Last time that I was at Esther's was probably over 12 years. This one time around was even better than I remember. Funny as hell! A visit here should be a mandatory requirement for anyone coming to visit Austin for the first time. For those who are already living here, this should be a funny ride of what/who we live with.
HIGHLY recommend going if you get the chance. Highly entertaining and hilarious! The show is changed up routinely to keep up with today's political issues and keep it fresh. Best show I've seen in years and look forward to attending again in the near future
Never ceases to amaze and certainly never ceases to induce laughter. 2 hours well spent in the wonderful city of Austin
Hilarious and topical comedy. Unusual use of outside the window behind the stage space adds interest.
Very talented people. The magician and his assistant are very good and the material is so fresh. Trump fans might consider skipping this wonderful satire.
Comedy show was great! Definitely recommend. Stars are all for that. Margaritas were not that good and overpriced.
The variety shows they have are great. They have something for everyone. The jokes are very funny.
Laughed the entire show. The BEST comedy show ever.
Great musical satire combined with well performed magic acts. Interesting food and inexpensive drinks.
I wish SNL was still this funny. The show left us all in stitches. The humor was current, and the magic was very fun. It is obvious the cast has incredible talent, and a passion for entertainment. The follies are an Austin institution, and at this pace they will be for years to come. Since the act changes, you should check them out on a regular basis.
This place keeps the weird she keeps it flowing in Austin. Great place to enjoy some entertainment from magic to sketch comedy.
We had some drinks and yummy street tacos before the show. The show itself was really good! My favorite parts were the magic bits done throughout. I realized that I had never been to a live magic show before, and my reaction during those portions was "HOW?!?!" I was seriously trying to concentrate hard to "catch" the slight of hand (from sitting in the fourth row), but it was impossible. They were interactive with audience members and it was funny how they sometimes fed off the people walking outside (seen from the window behind them).
Talented cast performs skits, magic, music, and great satire. Very entertaining.
Wasn't prepared for the political humor. It's is nice to go out and get away from politics. Not here.Typical Austin liberal BS. Crowded and dirty. Again, typical for Austin. Keeping Austin weird is ruining this city!
I was blown away. The whole thing sounded silly to me and the promotional photos I saw of people in drag wasn't exactly a selling point. However, I went on a Saturday night and it was absolutely hysterical. All the skits and songs were well written. I didn't always agree with the politics, but the jokes were always funny. The best part might have been the magician, who performed tricks that were David Copperfield caliber.
Fun iconic Austin family friendly show for all ages! Well most ages.... I d say 10 and up . Highly recommend! Hilarious laugh out loud comedy!
We go here probably 4 times a year and always bring out of town guests. We have been going for about 5 years now and have seen some staff changes, different routines, and the classic routines that are in every show. We are never disappointed
You do not know Austin, until you have seen Esther's Follies!! Iconic
The general seating is up front but on a level surface. The Tier 1 and Tier 2 seats are on risers. There isn't a bad seat anywhere though. Great show! Very topical.
We went for a company event and thought it was a waste of time. I am not into liberal politics and thought the comedy part was a waste of time. The magic part was good but over all not the greatest show. If you are very political and liberal this would be the show for you!
Never a dull moment. Great job cast and crew for another good night of belly laughs
This was a heck of a lot more fun than I expected... kind of a rapid-fire vaudeville-style musical revue/magic/sketch comedy show, heavily seasoned with topical humor. Saturday Night Live could learn a few things from these guys. Seating is very basic, but comfortable, and the back of the stage consists of large windows that face out onto Sixth Street... curious passers-by peered in from time to time to watch the show, and some of the performances actually extended out of the theater to the street. I'd go again!
