Estancia La Jolla Review

We just stopped by for the nachos. They we're really good. The service was okay, but the food was good. As we were walking through the lobby all the employees were polite and courteous.

I ve been fortunate to have been able to travel extensively and have stayed in many lovely hotels. I had average expectations for Estancia; however, those expectations were immediately exceeded as soon as I set food on the property. This is more than a hotel. It s a retreat. There are multiple dining restaurants, a wine bar, lush gardens, outdoor fireplaces, a fantastic pool area. I could go on and on. The rooms are nicely appointed. Room 337 overlooks the pool and is quite nice inside. They had a pool DJ one afternoon, and the drinks at the pool bar are yummy and strong. Don t look any further for somewhere to stay in San Diego.

Awesome food and atmosphere. Very good environment for a meeting. Parking is difficult.

Clean and beautiful, it's the perfect getaway spot in sunny La Jolla!

Great hotel and great service. Located across from UCSD so don't expect this place to be walking distance to the beach. The Estancia is a little hidden gem. You can easily miss their sign but when you get there you'll be surprised by what you see. The gardens on the property are well maintained.

This place can be very confusing to navigate so ask the front desk for a map; you'll need it the first couple times you walk around the Estancia maze.

There is a cool little restaurant and bar in the middle of the property. They have a limited beer selection but have great wine and spirits.

Overall I love this place. It's clean, quiet and beautiful.

Very nice pool service, close to Black's beach, not a hotel for room parties, more quiet and relaxed.

This hotel will steal your belongings.

I attended a wedding here last weekend. The hotel staff assured me and the rest of the groomsmen that everything we left in the groomsmen ready room would be returned to the groom's hotel room. Everything was returned, with the exception of my gift to the groom (an envelope with a card and a lot of cash), as well as someone's iPhone.

It's bad enough that this would happen as such a "nice" establishment, but when I went to the front desk to complain, they told me to call the police because they "weren't responsible" for missing property. That sure is funny, since we were promised multiple times that our items would be accounted for by the hotel staff.

No apologies were given, and the front desk staffed just seemed annoyed that I was complaining about their employees stealing our things. Do yourself a favor and avoid this place.

Very quite nice hotel. A hidden jem. Great service. Good food. Large rooms. Comfortable beds and pillows . Very recommended.

It's always a relaxing time at The Estancia. My experience was once again a five star trip.

Would definitely stay here again. It's located 5 miles from the village and inlcudes a free shuttle to and from any location within a 5 miles radius.

A different feel, but fits perfectly. The rustic yet stylish interiors compliments the gardens and views. Navigation inside takes a minute to understand. The food and service are incredible. Everyone is treated like royalty.

I stayed at the Estancia the last few days during a conference with my wife. It's certainly a nice hotel with a great winding layout that makes it feel more intimate than a normal 200-250 room hotel.

Generally you won't find any huge deficiencies with the hotel - it's clean, room size and decor are typical for a 4 star hotel, the staff is broadly very good.

Some things to consider:
- $22/day service fee for things like wifi. It's not optional which doesn't seem right
- $25-15/day for mandatory valet. They don't let you park in the lot on your own
- Most servers are good at the restaurants, but a few are extremely slow
- Pool service is good on week days, but understaffed on busy weekends
- Bottom floor rooms may walk out onto a confined 'garden' with not much light
- You can drive most of the way to the nearby beach with stairs, no need to walk

Very nice hotel. A little bit big maybe. Staff is super friendly. Their gardens are beautiful. Rooms have the perfect size and the mattresses and linens are so confortable. You get a bottle of wine and daily water bottles. Rooms are clean. Bathroom is spacious with a separate door for the wc which is convenient. It is very convenient for conferences and meetings as they have many available areas within their venue. Check in is kind of late though (4 pm). Food is pretty good.

The Estancia La Jolla Hotel & Spa has a great environment. The Spa will stress you out from your routine. Don't miss the chance to visit La Jolla Cove which is very close to the hotel. I totally recommend.

Very high quality, old Spanish style hotel. I had to come to San Diego to do something at the college, and the rooms were on sale. I received quality FAR above what I paid. Soft towels, clean room, great restaurant.

Our second stay this year. Superb high-end hotel. Excellent hospitality. Beautiful room with plenty of towels, plush robes, comfortable beds. Cleanliness and sanitize conscious noted everywhere.

Went here for an event. Lovely grounds and ballroom. Staff was attentive and friendly.

I was here for a wedding. Very nice location for a large group.

I really love this place! When visiting San Diego, I love staying there. They also treat my Service Dog, Bridget with a great deal of respect.

About a 20 or 30 minute drive from downtown San Diego (Gaslamp) really nice hotel grounds! Feels like you're living on a villa. Parking is $25 per night for self park. Wifi is fast, bathroom is spacious. Didn't try the pool but had some nice music and people seemed to be having a lot of fun. Would recommend!

Estancia La Jolla Spa was incredible. Perfectly private yet spacious. Am aready planning a second visit.

We were there for Brunch Bash. The grounds were astoundingly beautiful.

We just had an amazing stay at the Estancia La Jolla Hotel. We didn't have time to avail ourselves of any of the spa offerings or amenities, but we were blown away by how lovely the hotel is, the rooms, the grounds and all the hotel staff. It couldn't have been more of a treat - extremely beautiful, well maintained, wonderfully well situated, super attentive staff, amazingly comfortable. And excellent value. Can't wait to come back.

Was at the venue for a conference. The breakfast provided was very well done. The hall was certainly large enough to accommodate everyone who attended.

I really love this place...it's a pretty hacienda vibe with lovely grounds and amenities and stellar service. I've been here twice now and would gladly stay again.

The shower did not work and we had to switch rooms.

The fam took a quick overnight trip to SD 11/2020. The response to COVID is superb. Masks, plexi-glass, sanitizer, the works... But the staff makes you feel welcome. There are places that I have been to that just makes you stressed out as you comply with the well-thought out regulations. The people here really go out of their way to make you feel relaxed and welcome.

I booked 90 minutes massage @ their SPA with Francisco. He really melted all the tension away. The changing area is n/a- but there is a in-door and out-door hangout area.

The fitness area will have to b pre-booked, each session is 50 minutes. The SPA managea the fitness are.

Overall - they deserve more than 5 stars!!! Will come back again to spend more time in this beautiful estate!!!

This resort is lovely. Beautiful scenery with great rooms. The valet staff, especially Ernesto provided fantastic service. Hope to come here again soon!

I was here for a private work function. The spaces, cuisine, and customer service was superb.

I attended a professional leadership event here. The learning center is an exceptional room for professional and leadership events. The hotel also provided our lunches and the quality was exceptional. The choices were very healthy as well as tasty. And they have a nice dessert as well. For our breaks the snacks again were of a very good quality as well as healthy. The grounds are beautiful and it is a place where you can feel that you are away from it all and focus on your event.

I was only in town for one night, but this hotel was perfect. The workout room / gym could have been a bit bigger, but the pool was great, very chilled environment, and the rest of the hotel and resturants were also good. My only negative would be to not get the sausage breakfast sandwich - the skin on the sausage patty was so tough I couldn't bite into it and so ended up chucking it.

The sheets didn't have any cum visible when I used a UV light to check.

Only concern I had was bathroom maintenance. Other wise the whole area was beautiful and ground well taken care of. We attended a wedding there an all the staff was extremely nice and food was amazing.

Beautiful place, and great service at the coffee shop. The manager is a very friendly and personable gentleman, and both the ladies present that day were lovely.

Well I m directionally challenged so I had a hard time finding the pool... but that s just me! Once there the staff is attentive and professional. Gorgeous grounds! Clean restrooms. Great service in the spa! Another favorite staycation spot!

I've never stayed at a luxury hotel before... Complementary bottle of wine in the room, super cozy room. Bed is a bit soft, but that's no different than any hotel I've ever stayed in.

I love the Estancia Spa and Anya in the nail salon. She helped me get ready for my wedding and welcomed me with open arms when I came back with both my family, and most recently, with my friends. She is thoughtful and extremely hard working. I'd recommend her services to anyone. The quality is exceptional. She's a gem inside of a stunning spa.

I was here as a guest at a wedding and it was beautiful. The sceanary was amazing, everything very well manicured and cleam. Excellent service from the vallet to the waiters/bartender.

We went for a couples massage and overnight stay. Cute grounds. Wonderful spa service. Kind staff all around. Rooms are ok, prices high. Wonderful hiking trail by salt institute.

We called before we booked and they said we d get a nice upgrade. Then we arrived 30 mins later after paying. No upgrade, no cancellation. Oh plus two hidden fees. Oh plus limited facilities. Not even that nice of a place and Michael, the supervisor, was unhelpful and unfriendly. Would give zero stars if i could.

Absolutely beautiful and very relaxing. Stayed for a wedding and loved everything there. Make sure you get the buffet breakfast, one of the best I've ever had

Excellent venue to stay. We have a four day conference and the people here are super friendly and offered us first class service. I highly recomend it for a getaway week or weekend. Plus, there is a chapel if you like to pray ;)

Stayed a night with our newborn. They were extremely nice and accommodating. The grounds were beautiful. The rooms comfortable.

Service was great and staff was very professional and friendly. The building itself is shows wear. Learning center has scratched and broken wood. Bathrooms have peeling wallpaper. But it's still very nice.

The facility, grounds, and staff are all wonderful. Great location with quick access to the beach via complimentary hotel shuttle. Room service selection is somewhat sparse. Overall, a lovely place to stay.

Great spa and massage....had Georgia give me a deep tissue massage...she worked it good...hit all the right spots....strong lady...definitely coming back to her...spa front desk girls were very polite and nice as well as the valet service.

Pricey but excellent hotel and spa. Fantastic food, service and rooms. The grounds are absolutely beautiful and close to downtown. There is a shuttle within a 5 minute radius but none to the airport. The pool area, hot tub and cabana's are very clean.

Nice little hideaway without the high prices in the area. Excellent food, although inhaled to laugh at the silly Californians. I ordered and ice tea from the coffee place here and they gave me 2 paper straws. I told the girl I only needed one. She said "no you need 2. These paper straws disintegrate before you finish your drink, and we cant give you a plastic straw here in California." So I said "we will have to chop down more trees to give 2 straws for everyone." She said "whaatever... " what a silly state

I DJ'd at Estancia last Saturday, and I was very pleased! It is a beautiful location with wonderful ceremony and reception options. It has a private and intimate feel, yet still has the ability to hold large events. The staff was very friendly and easy to work with and helped the evening flow perfectly. I highly recommend Estancia for anyone looking for a classy and elegant venue.

Huge room. We had a suite that overlooked a large grassy area and we loved it. It was a bit dated but no big deal. Such a relaxing weekend
