Old English flair in the aging hotel. It's worth getting to know this before the investors strike. Very nice view of the beautiful sandy bay with a lively surf scene. Very good starting point for trips to legendary Cornwall.

We stayed there for 4 nights . It was completely waste of money . Hotel rooms were worse then 2 star hotel even. We reserved car parking and when we got there we found they gave it someone else. Also I literally heard from another family complaining about there toilet door which was broken and staff said we will give you a champagne bottle as compulsion. Another family was complaining that whole night people were shouting in next to there room and also lady said my kids are scared can you change our room and staff were just apologising that's it they didn'tchange room. I would never go to that place again even they offer us free everything.

Love staying here on our family breaks to Cornwall. Stayed a few times in the family rooms. We pay for the sea view which is amazing, looking out to fistral beach and pay for the parking on site as otherwise it's on the road which can be limited. The rooms are clean and spacious. Within walking distance to Newquay. Looking forward to our stay in the autumn.

Stayed at the Esplanade Hotel with my wife and 2.5yr old for a little break before our new addition turns up in January. The Hotel is located overlooking Fistral beach and despite bad weather watching the huge waves roll in was amazing. The decor is modern and does the building justice and facilities are great for young and old alike. We paid for dinner and breakfast included and was blown away by the quality of the food. Absolutely fantastic! Would definitely recommend staying here over any other chain hotels you'll see for about the same money.... Definitely will be back whenever we get the chance!

The hotel is very amusing with lots of sporty and slightly static activities (such as bingo). The hotel is very compliant and their customer service is very good when you are in practical solitude but if the bar is busy, your order gets ignored a numerous amount of times. Sometimes they are very unlogical because they task 3 waiters to one small job and truly gets quite pathetic edpacially during packed nights. They do have dog rooms and some views have a brilliant view of the sea. The rooms are fairly luxurious but for an adjustment, I would like the beds in the rooms to be static (they are on wheels and shift very easily). There is a teenager's club where children can enjoy themselves playing games. I would like an adjustment of the staff to be more controlling of the children because they get out of hand. And young children genuinely wonder into the teenagers club unsupervised and agitate all of the teenagers doing their things. There isn't any supervision what's ever actually in the teenager room, and to be honest there aren't many teenagers that are there but there are kids around the age of 11 and 12 or perhaps younger so I'm not entirely acquaintanced with the law of supervision on children under the age of 16 but I'm fairly certain that the hotels role in keeping the children in line and in safety is very unprofessional. Every night they put up beautiful cookies with a glass of cold milk in the reception with a small story to be read to babies heading off to sleep, so thier attitudes towards babies is very positive and appealing. I would like to see these changes please but overall your services are great.

Our room stunk of dogs, and the "clean glasses" were next to the toilet. But apart from that, it has a great view of the beach, specially at sunset. Also the swimming pool and kids entertainment is quite good. The best part was the staff, which were very friendly and after complaining about the smell in our room, they promptly moved to another one.

Stayed here with the family over June Half term The kids loved the swimming pool and the outdoor pirate ship, and enjoyed the free activities in the afternoon (face painting, biscuit decorating, pirate treasure hunt etc) The kids are still cuddling up with their bear that was on their beds when we checked in too! Room was good, food great and we are hoping to return for the October half term break and hope the weather is a bit better!

Excellent hotel. We stayed there on a 'Turkey and Tinsel' break, the staff were helpful and friendly and the food was great with plenty of choice.
The room had a super king size bed and was nicely decorated. Public areas too were nicely decorated and clean. There is also an indoor swimming pool although we didn't use it this time. We would definitely go back there.

My husband booked this as a surprise and the staff decorated our room for our anniversary which was a nice touch. We ordered room service, the food was amazing, no table in the room but there was one on our balcony. Buffet breakfast, all hot fresh cooked, wide choice of fruit, cereal, juices, pastries. Room tray really well stocked, lots of towels but only one rail to hang them on. We used the pool, jacuzzi and sauna, the spa is at the other hotel a stone's throw away. Right across from the beach, few steps to get down so don't take a buggy. Indoor play area our little boy loved, there are plenty of things for all ages in there. Pool was cold for little ones but he had swimsuit on and soon got used to it. Really nice touch was story time, a story on card with milk and cookies you could take to your room. They have regular kids activities there too, if we had stayed longer I would have used them. Staff were friendly, definitely family hotel. Parking outside on the street, free. We will go back!

It's an Ok 2 to 3 star hotel if you are not after luxury but basic facilities for a weekend. Views are amazing and rooms very run down. Staff tries hard to help. They are fleecing customers with eye watering room rates but don't have much expectations

So, we went here for dinner ( today - 08/07/20). From the outside, I won't lie, the place looked a bit worse for wear, but the moment you step inside you see it's the complete opposite.
Lovely interior and great staff and decent food, a little hidden gem!
