Great service, food, and vibe. The drink list is extensive and we settled on a cabernet sauvignon blend from south australia, which went great with the 5 Course "Surrender" prix fixe meal. The staff was attentive but not intrusive, playful and courteous. The portion sizes, quality, and experience were commensurate with the price.

Went to Epocha for New Years Eve. We started with their house baked bread which is amazingly light and fluffy.

We had amazingly fresh tuna with mozzarella and basil pesto - the flavours were so fresh and light, it s such a great starter.

Main course was a veal steak that was probably slightly too cooked for my liking (medium and I like medium rare), but nonetheless quite delish. Accompanying it was a salad with maple.

Last course was their take on a tiramisu, which was more like jellyish. I like it but I think I like normal tiramisu better.

The service here is just amazing and they even accommodated my mother in laws fairly complex dietary requirements.

The price for a three course dinner was slightly exxy but I suppose for NYE that s what you get.

We were here to have our last meal out before COVID-19 lock down. Angie and her staff were fantastic serving everyone with a smile on their faces, even though the future is uncertain. The food is delicious. We will continue to come to get our take away coffee, lunch and dinner!!

i had high exception, but the food is just okay overall, in fact, one of the fish dish was quite tasteless. I was looking forwards to the cheese trolley, but was told the cheese trolley is only available on Wednesday night. Too bad, i dont think i would trouble myself there again for the cheese trolley.

My partner and I shared our first anniversary dinner at Epocha with the 5 course Surrender and wine pairings and would happily dine here again. We were very well looked after by the attentive and cordial servers, with co-owner Angie Giannakodakis painting an interpretive picture for each course that made for a diverse culinary journey. The food was beautifully prepared and wine expertly matched, championing local Australian wines with their modern European style cuisine. Upon booking, as prompted I let the restaurant know we were celebrating our anniversary, dessert arrived with a happy anniversary message much to my partner's delight. Overall, a high-quality fine dining experience with great atmosphere at a fair price.

Fantastic dining experience. Attentive staff really looked after us and I love the shared plates concept.
We had the tasting menu which is lots of sides, a few small plates and a large plate. All amazing, possibly too much food for two people so order that when your extra hungry!

What a delight! This was one of the best meals I ve had. The service is excellent, warm, attentive without being over-bearing. The food- delicious, the sommelier picked the perfect wines to go along with our meal. A real gem of a place and a superb experience. We left happy, full and knowing that we ll be back for sure.

I can t remember how many times I have been to this restaurant. Great selection of wine , friendly staffs and amazing European foods with decent serve . My husband is a big fan of their bathroom and going there is a must ( don t know why) haha . We are glad we went there couple week ago for Sunday roast before the restaurant closed down due to lockdown . Can t wait to order their take away meal for our daughter s birthday next.

Wonderful experience with superb food and service to match. We got there early and had the place to ourselves for 30 mins. Perfectly sized portions with matching wines available. Location is a very easy walk from the city with a lovely setting in an old renovated building. Recommended

Epocha has been my go to cafe during the lockdown. Something about grabbing a coffee and going for a walk in Carlton Gardens really brightens your mood. The service is always fantastic, they're always up for a little chat about what's going on. The range of foods they have in store looks fantastic. It's made me want to come back and dine in when we are able to.

I really liked Epocha. We had our work Christmas lunch there. A bit disappointed that there wasn't a Christmas menu, it was just the normal menu. The staff were very attentive and the food was mostly very nice. The food was a tad too fancy for me but very nice.

Absolutely fantastic experience. The service was excellent and they made dining for a coeliac so easy. The cauliflower was an absolute highlight, it was a flavour explosion. The strawberry dessert was amazing, too. The lighting in there isn't great for photos, so the photos don't really do the presentation justice.

Our Epocha experience:

Our Epocha experience:
While visiting Melbourne, my partner and I were on walk from the museum to the CBD. We discovered this tasteful, "Olde English" style restaurant overlooking the park. Upon entry, although recently closed, we were served a platter roast 4-course of exquisite quality. The drink selection was above the par we've been able to find in Melbourne. The owner's sat with us, the staff expertly heightened the experience, and we were satiated for days. Speaking from affiliation with another world class restaurant in the USA, you have our highest recommendation.

Thank you again.

Simply sublime evening out, and not just because it was our first time dining after COVID restrictions! Beautiful setting, every dish delicious and sensational service. Couldn't ask for more.

I had my 50th birthday party lunch at Epocha upstairs in the Maybelle Room and it was perfect! The atmosphere, food and service were sensational. I had a ball and all of my guests did too. All of this was under strict COVID restrictions and the staff managed it beautifully! I'd highly recommend the venue for your special function as the venue speaks for itself, you hardly need to add a thing! Thanks Epocha for making my day so special!

Absolutely awful experience. Customer service was worse than abysmal; they were downright rude. Four of six of our table ordered the chef s tasting menu (noting that nowhere on the menu does it say that the whole table must all order it) and the staff rudely warned us that if they caught either of the two who ordered from a la carte picking at the share menu food, we would be charged for 5 tasting menus. If we order and pay for the testing menu for 4, and we get the right amount of food for 4, I don t think it s anyone s business who eats/what we do with that food. I have also never been spoken to in a restaurant, the way the waiters did here.

In addition, we had to request water and our wine on numerous occasions, even though it was a such a quiet night. There at so many nicer restaurants in Melbourne, especially at this price point, that I would never recommend this place to anyone.

We were greeted early with your tables ready or you are welcome to hang around the till area for 20min
That set the tone all staff were clearly sick of their customers! The sarcasm never stopped... sadly without humour. Food cold!! The mushrooms hand-picked in Daylesford at 4am as a pacifier for cold sardines were delicious! We complained and our main was warm .... how can goose fat be cold.
Never again and wouldn t recommend it to anyone......

Everything about this place says quality. It was our first time here, and Yelp gave us the tip-off. We phoned mid-Saturday afternoon, foolishly hoping for a table that evening, but it was sold out. The very helpful Alana promised us a place on the wait list, and about an hour beforehand we got a call saying a table had become free!

My first time in this great setting (and ambience) at Epocha. A well designed menu showcasing the best of produce available in Australia. My taste buds are still tingling a few days on. Excellent service from the team. Will be there again!

Epocha is one of my favourite restaurants in Melbourne. The food is great, the atmosphere is beautiful and the service is friendly- unpretentious but highly professional. The Sunday Roast is particularly lovely.

We went for a business dinner so the menu prechosen for us. The food was spectacular, the service was really friendly and fast. If we had a query they helped us out straight away. Great venue for really big groups. Great atmosphere. I would definitely come again when I am back in Melbourne.

Amazing place to eat if you are looking for something "fancy". The food is amazing, and service is fantastic. We have been here twice now for special occasions and we have been more than impressed both times! Just a little on the pricey side - we spent just over $200 on a 2 course dinner each, a glass of wine each, and a cheese platter - but as i said, the food is beyond amazing and it is well worth it!!!

We arrived 15 minutes before they were actually open for business. We weren't interested in their set lunch menu and asked if coffee was ok. The waitrees was very friendly and accommodating and made one of the best coffee I've ever tasted. Fantastic service and coffee.
