I was admitted last year in February 2020 due to a stroke via the ER. At the time of admission I told them I was uninsured. Upon being discharged the next evening no one that came into my room mentioned the bill. A month later I received my bill and immediately called the.billing office and asked for a cash price as I was uninsured. I was told that because I didn't ask for it upon admitting it wasn't offered. I am on a fixed income and have been paying my 300.00 payment every month and still no help. If you don't know your are suppose to ask for it then how can you. This was my first time at the hospital and it was an emergency.

My husband just spent two days at Ephraim. The care provided was exceptional. From the emergency room which was very crowded and very very busy to his room upstairs. We were treated with patience, kindness, respect. Just like he was the only person there. Thank you for the care he received.

I entered the ER recently for Covid. This was early in the day. The day shift nurses did the best, most complete job on me. And looked after me constantly. I was a lot better by the time I left. Why the 1 star?

My wife had it too. She was just a little behind in symptoms. And it was late at night when she needed to go in. bad timing. The nigh nurses were the worst ever. Rude. And acted like they could care less about patients. They don't belong in this field. I had to encourage my wife to tell them whatever she had to to get things done. What amazes me. Is I showed Covid pneumonia. Yet, my wife did not. Her cough is more severe than mine. And she sits back every day for work. I keep my lungs open and healthy. Go figure. Anyway. She was only in there 2 or 3 hours versus my 6. Her BP was far higher than mine. And they did not chest scan. They did one on me.
So the kind of care you get depends on who's doing the caring. The night time ER's are notorious for employing people the day shifters want no part of. And I am mostly referring to female nurses. The men seem to be more passionate about their job. The passionate women work during the day. Solve that puzzle. Just remember that. Go during the day.

The only reason I gave one star is because it wouldn t let me give 0. My husband arrived there via ambulance yesterday with a positive covid test and a fever that we couldn t help at home. They stuck him in a room and was very rude to him. Once his one bag of fluid had ran out they wheeled him outside and set him in the 90 degree weather to wait for me to get there. Once I got there the fever of 103 had returned. Shame on you my pets receive better care from their vet then you offered my husband. If you have covid choose a different hospital.

Surgery was great, but billing is horrible. They give you a 30% discount if you pay at the time of service. The problem is their billing is a free for all. They do not bill with the patient in mind. The bill you pay on includes the deductible. That bill should process 1st before the others go out to make sure the patient gets the discount. When it doesn't they try and take back part of the discount. They claim their are three different billing entities, but you all represent Ephraim Mcdowell. Guess what , I am one patient with one total out of pocket. All that happens is I end up paying more. Very disappointed and would not recommend to anyone.

Today we are still shocked at the lack of care or concern that this place has given my wife and I after paralyzing her about 3 months ago. They dropped the ball and totally disrupted our lives and could care less. All involved with this at that dump called Ephraim McDowell should be in prison. It would still not compare to the one we live in that you chose to give us!!!! Its not over!!!!

Seems like this place is a money scam. They have serious problems with their coding and billing. On numerous occasions they put down the incorrect medical billing codes and bill for the wrong procedures. I've addressed this over a half dozen times with them. They always assure me its taken care of and its not. And no one is ever responsible, because they outsource responsibility to unnamed people in undisclosed locations and you're not allowed to talk to them. This hospital is a prime example of incompetence and corruption. Stay away if you can.

They were beyond attentive and kind to my mother. She was there for outpatient surgery. I was extremely impressed with the level of professionalism through out the entire center. On lighter but relevant note. The cafeteria has amazing food. I paid $4.00 for a large coffee, tomato wedge and cottage cheese salad and a slice of the world's best chocolate cake!
