About to leave for orientation. I was signing the paperwork I'd received in an email. When I got to the Pay Agreement page they had me at .42 per mile when we had agreed on .47 per mile. Their explanation was that I had worked for more than 2 companies within the last 5 years. I was never told this until then. They had also canceled the rental car because of the pay dispute. They lie and try to trick you. Wasn't even an employee and I quit! You want good experienced drivers?

There trailers say home every weekend. There driver managers say it doesn't work like that. False advertising.

Just like every other corporation. You are their slave.

Great place to work. You can make or break yourself. If you commit to a load. See it through. Do your job right and they'll give you good runs.

Spoke with recruiter Crystal Warren after driving for a year and 3 months hauling a 53 ft car trailer and she says my experience is no good. Crystal was the most unprofessional recruiter, I have ever spoke with.

Drove for epes dedicated out of the Lowes distribution center statesville.paid miles and stops. What they don't tell you is you must work for free hours a day waiting ln line

I've been with the company 5 months now. I've worked for numerous companies before Epes. These were tanker and flatbed companies. Epes is by far the best. The equipment is good and they have fixed anything that was wrong. Good benefits and environment. They're not like these companies that keep you Out weeks at a time. You will be home every week or you can stay out and run. Everybody I've dealt with has been very professional. You may make more per mile with other companies but in my opinion it's not worth the garbage you have to put up with working for them.

Saw a driver running bobtail out of Sweetwater TN this morning. He almost hit two trucks and a car, he was swerving all over the road, nearly caused an Young girl to crash because he ran up on her so fast and blew his air horn like she was doing something wrong, just being an absolute idiot (or drunk)...I followed him for a long way trying to get in contact with someone but couldn't get anyone on the phone with that company. Truck number was 233. Some of the most irresponsible driving I have ever seen..
I can't believe what I was seeing honestly.

Worked local there in 2020. Had a good schedule and dispatcher.

Make you violate hours of service and never let you go home

3/20/10 15:30 on route 1 south in Cary. Idiot driver not paying attention in an exit only lane cuts off 6 cars try to not have to exit.

Their drivers are rude and nasty and won't wear mask when they come into an establishment and swear at you when you ask them to please wear .never been talked to so badly

been working w Epes for over 10 years . great people, professional level service, clean operation thru and thru. Bobby, Evan, John, Bryan, and David all help run a tight ship.

I used to work for Epes early 2000s. It was a great place to work. I drove a flattop FLD 120 then they finally gave me a brand new Freightliner. #2044. That truck was very powerful and fast! Best company to work for been here 8 yrs home every week for at least 48 hrs and I made 60000 dollars last year..

Got rear ended by one of your trucks here in eastern GA. I was stopped at a red light like every normal law abiding citizen and one of your semi trucks rear ended the pickup behind me which in turn hit me with my 5 kids in the car. Now my only mode of transportation is totaled, my wife and I have sustained injuries and I can't work. And all we wanted to do was have an enjoyable day at the beach. The driver never even came over to ask if any of the 11 people involved in the accident were ok. Shows what kind of people you hire. You will be hearing from us soon.

From the phone call with the recruiter to orientation, and the meet and greet with the office personnel. Nothing but smiling faces and friendliness. Great place to work for and the majority of the staff knows a lot about the trucking industry.

Company employees are nice. My issue was with my driver manager not fulfilling mutual expectations. I delivered freight safely and on time. He thought it was unfortunate if I didn't get home. Not what we had agreed on. Good luck. Avoid Jonathan Dian.

All I can say is once you walk in the Safety department and meet Captain Crunch on any traffic issues through the Police officer emphasized with you and voided given you a ticket , He still will make your life a living hell as long as you work there.

Untrustworthy company they will sell you a dream. Tell you anything.

Last review is so Correct, BEWARE OF THIS PLACE!! DM's stay in hiding for hours when u waiting for response. Planners give Inpdnt Contractors low ball freight, and I'm about to subpoena them for Wage theft. I left over a week ago, and they claim my money was indexed so they cannot pay me right now. WTH does that mean? They are all full of it!

You have a sorry driver on I-95 south in Ga pulling trailer 639235 (total trans). He is driving in the left lane beside another tractor trailer holding up traffic and causing problems. He is refusing to pull over. You need to get him off the road before he causes a fatality. This is Friday, Oct 25th between 11:00 and 12:00 am.

No one answers the phones. They don't return the calls when leaving voicemails. Very good sing to tell if company cares about its drivers or not.

My fiance' and I worked there for a little over a year as drivers. I trained her there, and it was side by side training. She was knocking out around 2,500-3,000 miles a week. In my mind, when we started teaming, we should've started seeing 5-6,000 miles a week. Nope! We were lucky to see 4,200 miles a week. Only 4 weeks we ever saw over 5,000 mikes. Out of those 4 weeks, only 1 week did not bleed over from the previous week. Every suggestion, complaint etc fell on deaf ears. If you team, and want miles, DON'T HIRE ON WITH EPES!

Something came off the 18 wheeler in front of me and shattered my windshield, threw glass in my face. Safety last could not have been more dismissive and rude. There are 2 gigantic holes in my windshield, we are literally sitting in the side of the road with glass all over the place. Insane

Tried calling recruiting and operator for 4 hours straight and no one picks up. That explains the reputation of the company.

The trucks they give new hires are nasty and FD driver manager dont care about you and turns his phone off when he gets home you are just a number with them have a 85% turn over rate on FD account

Freight transport place, friendly and professional people

You will NOT be able to have any contact with dispatch!! They will make you sit for hrs before sending you a load!! This is NOT the company I thought it was when I was hired a few months ago. I regret every moment here and currently looking for something else. STAY AWAY

Decent place to work. I run Lowe's hardware dedicated routes. Home every night with newer trucks. We have just been bought by Penske, so I am waiting to see what changes happen.

Very Fast and Efficient Company. Walked in and asked if I could speak to a recruiter and Edison came right out and spoke with me.

Was interested in a job here when i called the recruiter he acted like i was interrupting his day and very rude when i tried to ask about working here

In my opinion, this company has some of the lowest character I've even seen amongst it's office staff. From the best I could tell, the driver of rig 43043 threw something out of his window and busted my windshield. My daughter was in the car and the impact almost caused us the crash. I contacted the immediately and tried to flag down the driver. He refused to pull over and the company now refuses to cover the cost of the damage one of their drivers caused. Personally, I'd never, ever do business with them or advise any one asking for my opinion to, either.

If it was a 0 stars that s what this company deserves, dont care about their employees, their managers are unprofessional and rude don t listen and dont care about none of their drivers worst experience ever, any truck company is better this one its the worst one

I love love love Epes. I ve literaly been to 3 different companies && even wanted to give up with trucking but by the grace of GOD I found Epes && I am sooooo thankful. From my Dispatcher Kyle Jones allll the way to bigger bosses everyone treats me with respect. I run hard and they definitely show they appreciate my hard work. I loveeeeee Epes and would recommend this company to anyone.

I never worked here, but I want to say that I suspect the office staff is writing fake five star reviews. There s just too much of a difference between the one star people(Drivers and Victims) and the five star people. It can t be that bad and that good at the same time. And if you didn t know, the really bad companies do that as a common tactic to get more slaves to live and work in a truck 365 days a year.

Shame on the thief crook owners of motor carriers; They seem to make up a large portion of the employers of the transportation industry these days.

I have been trying to get tracking information and proof of delivery for weeks and have given every piece of information that I have with absolutely no result. This is ridiculous. I have called, only to be transferred to several different people who can't help me, then to be transferred to someones voicemail. EPES Transport customer service is an absolute joke. I'm not always nearly killed by an 18-wheeler but when I am, it's epes driver. Thanks for that.
