A good place to ski. Few people on the slopes. Most are Italians, Poles and Czechs. You can ride for one ticket in three resorts with completely different skiing conditions. Bormio is the largest, then Santa Caterina and Cima Piazzi- San Colombano. The problem is access in winter. Most drugs are closed during this period. Sometimes the lifts leave work sooner ....
Several short routes but strong climbs .... Nice to eat and spend a few hours ... Ideal for bikers and cyclists the ascent of the Stelvio pass.
We were in Val d'Ultimo, and we took a walk starting from the Fontana Bianca lake.
Here the landscape of the park is very beautiful, there are streams and streams with fresh water, lots of vegetation even at rather high altitudes, lots of blueberry bushes, cows and goats that they left free. Well maintained and marked paths and roads.

Magnificent place in all senses. Pristine fresh air flora. I traveled 28 km in 8 hours in just one day. Only the initial part of the "La Romantica" trail is a little too rough to climb and descend for my taste.
A beautiful place! I can only recommend to go through there. As a precaution, check the brakes first ;-)
An enchanted place among nature, hospitality and typical flavors. Perfect in all seasons and for every taste from skiing to trekking, from rafting to horseback riding. But also a lot of relaxation in the spa.

All comfortable. We are with a girl who is learning to ski, that is 40 euros for an hour of lessons ... 2hrs must be done in a row, then another hour's break and then two more hours. Wonderful and dramatically instructive experience. The nature that excites us, relaxes us, but warns us that we are doing something wrong: the glaciers withdrawn, even in a year (2019) with a winter that lasted until May, should make us rethink our behavior.

Immense natural park with breathtaking views and places.
I have always stayed in Semogo, a few km from Bormio, in a private apartment. This area offers the widest choice of sports, cuisine and entertainment both in summer and in winter. For the summer, I recommend fishing in a licensed stream (at the tourism office) or fishing in a small lake at high altitudes (Cancano lakes, Foscagno lake, Livigno lake), but also trekking and mushroom hunting with a card (always the tourist office). For the winter, a passionate invitation to skiing and off-piste freeride skiing in controlled areas, Livigno is the ideal destination and can be reached in 40 minutes from Bormio via the Foscagno pass.
If you are in the vicinity, you should have seen that, great views.
What do you want? An evaluation on the Stelvio National Park? I prefer to say that it was better that there were fewer ski slopes, less constructions in the Park, more checks for tourists who tear flowers and mushrooms, fewer bicycles on the trails, less e-bike, new tourist scourge for cyclists without the balls.
Probably too busy taking advantage of those four unlucky walkers and / or visitors, poor hygiene and bad service. It offers little to the tourist.
