The town of Orta is very nice and small ... unfortunately the cost of parking is high .... also the beaches of the municipality are kept very badly ... even X-August have been able to clean up the shore ... you are ashamed of the municipality

Beautiful and well-kept, truly a terrace on the lake

The Borgo di Orta San Giulio needs no introduction but we would like to write about it anyway especially for the beauty of the upper part of the Borgo and for the shaded pedestrian paths that descend from Monte Sacro to the banks. Crowded historic center, especially after the post-covid-19 lockdown period, but still very enjoyable. All rigorously masked even in the alleys and pitches or bars of all kinds. Highly recommended, this Piedmont!

Access to the Villa Comunale is hidden but it is worth looking for it among the narrow streets of Orta. At the entrance a huge chandelier invites you to enter. Continue in the internal courtyard to discover the internal garden, perfect for resting in the shade. The view of the lake is remarkable.

Spectacular, as always, everything .... the only sore point is the parking .... two machines x the non-working ticket .... we waited for the operator at least 20 minutes in the sun .... with an endless queue of people .. . Moreover ATM cards not working ... get a coin ..... 3stelle less x parking ..... dear ....

Beautiful and unexpected Borgo this! You arrive from the top and no one could imagine finding yourself, descending a long staircase, in a tangle of narrow streets with an ancient aspect.
Villa Bossi is the seat of the municipality, its gardens can be visited free of charge. A souvenir photo is a must next to the statue of the painter who immortalizes the landscape.
Definitely to visit the small island in front, reachable by boat at a cost of about 3 euros per person. Boarding can be found in the main square.
I really liked Orta San Giulio and Omegna, it's a pity that there are few free beaches to get wet and sunbathe.
I remember that in Orta San Giulio there is also Villa Crespi, managed by the famous chef Cannavacciuolo, for my son it was an honor to be able to take a picture with him on the fly!
Holidays different from the usual but equally 5 stars !!! Wonderful Italy!

The garden behind the town hall is very charming and conducive to strolling, contemplation or relaxation.

Great ideas for artistic photographs and relaxing walk

Pleasant and relaxing tourist resort that transmits a holiday atmosphere even to those who go for a short trip. Characteristic are the small streets, often shaded, with souvenir shops and particular design items, food and inviting gastronomic products. The beautiful island of San Giulio can be reached in a few minutes by boat or motorboat. A pleasant walk with characteristic views and the possibility of bathing and sunbathing in the small ravines or hidden corners. Also ideal for photography enthusiasts.

The motorhome parking area on the Sacro monte di Orta where the cars can park in the camper places, but the campers cannot park in the car area is a painful note. The brigade gave the fines to the cars on the climb to get to the mountain but they did not consider the machines in the camper area in the least ... unfair!

Wonderful village I recommend if you stay for a week to rent a garage

Excellent public garden overlooking the lake. A must see. Kept well and well cared for.

The most beautiful town ever. We even got married here. It's a small but pittoresk town. Some small shops. Great restaurants.

Can also make a nice boat trip to the Island. Will surely recommend....

From the town hall you can see the spectacular island of Orta San Giulio. In the town hall, we also find maps and information regarding the town and the island, always very useful. The town hall features a beautiful garden with flower benches and is located on the lake. Ideal place for a relaxing break after visiting the island of San Giulio and the town. Absolutely to see and return. Recommended.

A bad experience at the multi-storey car park. Returning to get the car back, we discover that we have lost the ticket. After vain research, we call the emergency at the intercom of the only automatic ticket office. After a long wait, the operator informs us that the "lost ticket" option must be pressed and we find that the fare is a good 33.00 euros! against 10 of the whole day. Paying is also very difficult because the only existing ticket office does not take the new 10 and 20 euro banknotes. So you have to change the money in another machine that only dispenses coins. We insert a tot of 35 euros and wait for the rest and ticket. Nothing to do the car crashes: neither ticket nor rest. Fortunately, an operator arrives to inform us that he will open the automatic door, informing us that the automatic ticket office is old and must be replaced. In the end we go out. End of the nightmare.

Very small but a real treasure. Very well served by boats. Beautiful the church and the alleys seem to come from a fairy tale. A place of silence and peace. To visit in less than 30 minutes but it's worth it. Highly recommended.

An interesting location, the courtyard of the Municipality is embellished by a wonderful and always well-kept garden.
There are several benches plus a small space at the top above a staircase from which to enjoy the lake and the view of the islet, placed in the sun and in the shade.

The only flaw: from 10.30 onwards numerous groups arrive in the garden of the Municipality, so if you are looking for a quiet place ...

Splendid Borgo without traffic. Completely pedestrian. Beautifully maintained and with a splendid view of the island of San Giulio. Full of good quality restaurants and ice cream parlors. Typical shops and large central square.

Orta San Giulio is an Italian town of about 1,300 inhabitants in the province of Novara, is part of the circuit of the most beautiful villages in Italy and is awarded the orange flag by the Italian Touring Club. Very nice the building of the town hall with a beautiful flower garden and benches where you can relax in the shade. Very nice village, quiet and well maintained with beautiful small streets full of shops that descend towards the lake. Very beautiful is the island of San Giulio accessible by boat in a few minutes. Good restaurants with excellent local cuisine. Ideal to spend a quiet weekend on the lake.

Beautiful medieval old town with a priceless view of the island of San Giulio. History, charm, culture, nature, art, spirituality.

From a portico on the narrow Via Bossi you enter the town, which enjoys a totally pedestrian outdoor area: a well-kept flower bed of large dimensions flanks the structure, followed by a delightful garden. In this second area, there are two benches in the shade of a pergola and two others with a view of the island of San Giulio, where you can park freely. In civil weddings, the bride usually arrives from the lake and lands in the garden through a small gate.

Surely the best village overlooking Lake Orta, very nice medieval old town beautiful the view of the island of San Giulio.bil all very suitable for a romantic exit. Good gastronomic offer.

CORTESE ATTENTION OF THE MUNICIPALITY. I leave the SP229, roundabout and take via Panoramica. I, an Abyssinian tourist in a car, in front of the bus, on the right coaches and campers queued for maneuver, on the left the cook's house, further on the little train, behind a car that presses. To indicate the Center and the lakefront there are two indicator signals, mignon format, placed on a horizontal bar four meters high, nothing else. With the money you peck with your parking salts, don't you advance two baiocchi for better signals? Shame, provide!

Pleasant place, two stars less for the unfortunate parking situation. Dear ones with a fee, pre-war ticket machines, very few non-paid and with no time limit, one of which is even always occupied by the van for the train tickets (it could very well be placed elsewhere).

Beautiful village on Lake Orta. Pleasant walks and magnificent views of the island of San Giulio.

Tourist resort that gave its name to the lake of the same name.
Formerly a country of fishermen, it has managed to maintain over time and enhance the typical local constructions.
Quiet place.
Numerous souvenir shops and some even with sale of fine artistic works.
Optimal for a relaxing "lacustrine" weekend.

Charming little lakeside town. A place we like to go to and where we keep going back as this pleasant to stroll without car nearby.
