These guys are unethical crooks.
- They charge $35 for a credit check; but only pay $10~$15 for the credit check service.
- 5 years of residency; they contrived lesse criteria to get around San Diegos' Right To Know Ordinance and kick me out without any reason.
This company truly makes pond scum look good.
My experience with ENG was great! I was able to rent a nice apartment in North Park with them, and was really happy with area I was in. Sharlotte was my land lord, and she was really wonderful. She was very professional and was very responsive. I would recommend for anybody to rent under ENG Properties, I had a pleasant experience.
This is my first experience with ENG Properties and I can honestly say I was blessed to have Sharlotte as my leasing agent. The whole time I knew I was prioritized whenever I spoke with her, in person, on the phone or in email. She was very professional and personable during the whole process wether she was answering my questions, clearing something out, or informing me on the property. I honestly think 5 star rating does not do justice to the work Sharlotte Gates has done. I've worked with the ENG team for years doing tenant turnovers and have to say that they are the best!
Over the past three years we ve worked with ENG as both a buyer and a seller. Buying a house in a competitive market such as San Diego can be extremely stressful, however Peter and Katy helped us not only find a house that meets all our needs, but also close on it in record time.
I was a tenant at an ENG property for five years, until very recently. I am motivated to write them a good review because they have been so GREAT as property managers! Here's why:
1. They are responsive to maintenance requests. I rarely had to follow up with them on something. They are prompt and professional. Their maintenance team does not take shortcuts & they get the job done! (Thank you John)
2. Their online system for requests makes it very easy to request maintenance
3. They are fair & reasonable people. Only once did I have to pay for a maintenance issue and it made sense- we were not going easy on the garbage disposal so we paid for a repair
4. Sharlotte is SO nice, professional, reasonable and down to earth. She was my main contact over the 5 years of my tenancy and I was able to trust her to take care of issues and be responsive. Plus, at our move- out walk through, she acknowledged certain issues are just due to age or normal wear and tear (carpet, paint). Many property managers would just try to get the tenant to pay for as much as possible, but Sharlotte & ENG are reasonable and fair.
5. They only raised rent twice during 5 years and each increase was fair for the area and the property. After moving out, I received my deposit within a week or so- very prompt.
I hope all my future property managers are this easy to work with! Good property managers make a big difference in quality of life for their tenants. Thank you ENG.
I had the pleasure of working with Sharlotte Hutchins during my relocation. Once I teamed up with Sharlotte, I knew everything was going to easier. Moving/finding a new place is a real headache. Especially if youre on time restraints. She made it very easy for me to make appointments and was very proactive in her search for my new property. My husband and I worked with ENG to purchase our first condo in 2017. We re back again to sell that condo and purchase a new home to accommodate our growing family. We are so happy with our experiences so far and regularly refer our friends to ENG. Lorena always answers our calls enthusiastically and connects us to the appropriate contacts. Peter and Katy both made time to show us multiple properties on our limited schedule. They created professional excel sheets that compared each of the homes we were interested in and they always go out of their way to explain the buying/selling process that is sometimes over my head!
Sharlotte was simply amazing and very helpful with our rental request. She even went above and beyond to meet us after hours in order for us to officially sign our rental lease! Highly recommended company and an even greater human to work with.

We are current tenants of an ENG property and so far, so good. Going thru the rental process we worked with Sharlotte. When emailing or calling her she always responded right away. The whole process was fast and easy with her. When speaking to her about a few minor fixes that were needed she took care of the work orders and the jobs were done the next day. She isn't even the assigned property manager for our rental but she continues to help us out and we are so grateful for that!
