About ready to start using a prescription discount...

About ready to start using a prescription discount company just to avoid the hassle of using EmpiRx. It took well over a month after the prescription was written for my husband to receive his medication, because this company makes your doctor jump through hoops. The doctor said he's never had to answer so many ridiculous questions that aren't even in context, just to get a prior authorization. And it's all on paper and via fax, which creates another huge delay. Even years ago, when everything was via fax, the longest we've ever waited on meds due to a PA, was 5 days. Over a month is unacceptable.

I'm now in the same boat. My prescription was sent in on 5.18.21, which prompted the PA process. Mine actually got approved a little faster, on June 3rd. Called on June 8th to find out where my needs are, as my account order history shows no prescription pending. They say they never received the prescription. The prescription that prompted the PA? That's the prescription they never received? Yeah, sure. Now waiting on doctor's office to send a new script, which I'm not even sure he can do as it's a schedule II med. I have been without my medication for three days with no end in sight.

This company is so incompetent they refuse to pay for medication they keep going back in for the with doctor the problem is they don t want to pay for medication that s what it boils down too. They are the worst company I reporting them to the bbb. I couldn t even imagine if I had cancer, are they going to argue about approval to get someone s cancer meds approved or get approval from the physician. I am going to take this a step further because all these other reviews speak volumes. They are getting out of paying period.

Customer service person said they would submit as a rush well, that was Monday and today ( Friday) its still in process and not shipped yet. Thanks to my union for switching from express scripts which was a good mail in pharmacy!!!!

As a healthcare professional working in a physician's office I spend a great deal of valuable time processing prior authorizations for prescriptions. Most of the insurance companies are now using Electronic PA formats. NOT BENECARD!!!! I am now on the phone holding for over 30 minutes to request a FAX FORM that could take up to 24 hours to receive Marked URGENT MIND YOU.. Then will take up to 72 hour for them to process. THIS IS A RIDICULOUS WASTE OF TIME!!!!!

Absolutely horrible! Every prescription I have goes through days of delay due to the lack of empiRX. They never want to cover anything and keep involving multiple faxes and Dr's reports for coverage. As a breast cancer survivor with RA I'm at wits ends daily on dealing with this company. I sure wish my husband's workplace never changed our insurance. Horrible experiences from EmpiRX for the entire year!!!!

Now they are refusing asthma medication!
I'm at home suffering because they want a different medication prescribed to me. Last time I checked a pulmonary Dr goes to school for a very long time to decide what his patients need not how to accept bargains on medication by the insurance company.
Delaying a person to be able to breathe!

We are now on the 4th trip to cvs and will have to come back for a 5th visit because every time they say they have taken care of approving medications (which shouldn t be needed on every med) there s some new problem.
Hopefully I ll be able to actually get my medication before my supply runs out. Almost a month now with continual problems.

My advice for other EmpiRx customers is that you will need to advocate strongly for yourself to get your authorizations pushed through. There is no way to track documentation or communicate in the patient portal; they rely on phone and fax. Plan ahead if you can to devote several days to back-and-forth communication. Make sure your doctors/nurses are aware that EmpiRx requires precise documentation so they can advocate for you too.

Absolutely HORRIBLE Company. My Employer suddenly changed to this company and now I need to get one of my main meds through their by mail pharmacy. I actually missed a dose (which I m not supposed to) because they bounced me around for weeks. I have had to call over and over to get nowhere.

My co-workers are having the same exact issues as well. They are trying to force switch meds and demand my doctor send them loads of paperwork via fax.

RUN FAR AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY AND BENECARD SPECIALTY PHARMACY - THEY ARE ONLY IN IT FOR THEMSELVES TO SAVE THE INSURANCE COMPANY MONEY.
