Calling hospice is never easy. Emerald Coast Hospice employees made it tolerable and I never felt alone. They are very compassionate. Sharon was my Dad's nurse and answered my calls or texts immediately, She insured my Dad was never in pain. The office staff were always available for my questions. I cannot say enough positive things about them. They still check on me since the loss of my Dad.

A thanks to Kemeisha for her excellent nursing service to my mother. Her calm compassionate demeanor, knowledge, and responsive communication made the road easier for my mom and family. So fortunate to have had a nurse of this caliber!

I have never met such wonderful and caring people. They cared for my dad the last year of his 100 year life. No group could have done a more wonderful job. Thank you so much for your care, love, and kindness. Julia Reese-Whiting

They are great if you don't need anything! They are a PROFIT organization! Basically what they do is take blood pressure, check heart rate, and oxygen twice a week. You have to administer the drugs..they dont have full time nursing care for dieing patients. The social worker we were assigned pretty much didn't do anything unless you called him repeatedly to check and see if he did, we were sent another social worker who we never heard from again.
The young nurses were not experienced enough to work at hospice. No hospice beds available, or nursing home beds available unless it was a dump! Respite care was available, but my mom was so weak and fragile transporting her to and from respite care would not be to her advantage. My sister needed emergency help, and she was assigned ONE nurse who was more experienced and AMAZING with my mom. She was gentle, and calm. She cared for my mom like she should have been cared for. She also was very supportive of my sister emotionally; the other nurses need to be trained by this wonderful caring woman; other than that one good experience, we were basically left to care for our mom alone, except for one hour a day twice a week, or when we called for emergency help. We did the best we could without medical training. Needless to say my mom has passed in a horrible way without the support from Emerald Coast hospice. BTW, no phone calls of condolences from ANYONE at Emeral Coast except from the wonderful nurse who CARED!

Melissa Carroll shouldn't be allowed to oversee anyone's care. She is a horrible person and if you make her mad, she will take it out on your loved one. She is truly an evil person. She purposefully made my father suffer because I upset her by questioning her authority. She abuses her position of power and should be removed from the health care system entirely.
