Agreed with others. Terrible customer service. Couldn't care less attitude, we got you and you have no choice attitude as no competition. Basic Customer Service class 101 needed to improve phone skills too. Website is terrible and seldom works correctly for payment and bills are difficult to understand. Checks by mail take FOREVER to clear. But......we have no choice....

Thank you, EGWD for always being there whenever I have questions about my bills. They really work with you and take the time to explain the technical matters one who's not experienced (such as myself) wouldn't understand. The ladies always are cheery and I've yet to walk in there when everyone in the front office staff isn't smiling/having a good time! Keep up the great work, ladies!!

Other than Cindy, EVERY SINGLE STAFF MEMBER is RUDE and unhelpful. EGW will not life a finger to help solve issues. They never listen to what you say and have the worst customer service I've ever come across

All my other bills I can give them my credit card and elect to be automatically charged. Not this one. They want you to forget to pay so they can charge u $100 shut off + $5 phone payment fee. Water got shut off again today because I ve been traveling all month for work and forgot. I called and asked to automatically withdrawn and they said I have to physically come into the office and fill out an application and provide a voided check and it will take 60 days. It s damn near 2020! Get with the times and quit ripping off your customers cause we don t have other options.

This place is awful. They will disconnect your service even when you pay them. The women in that front office are extremely rude, ignorant of water laws and rights and will hang up on you or dismiss you from their office if and when you challenge them about their false misrepresentations. Terminating your water service is the goal so that they can squeeze and suck more money out of you. It s nothing but an old school shakedown. Just yesterday 9/25/2018 they disconnected 81 homes water supply. They charge you $100 to reconnect if this is done weekly, monthly and annual you do the math and see why they do it. EGWD has a monopoly on EG s water supply and until enough people stand up and hold them accountable they will continue to be disrespectful, uncaring and handle you with an iron fist. Know your rights unlike most public utilities companies that have immunity water does not! Learn the administrative remedies afforded to you and file a complaint with the CPUC. Exhaust your administrative remedies and sue them in court. This has to stop. They are nothing by lying corrupt conspiring thieves! Stand up for something or fall for anything. Good luck.

They are a horride place that knows they control if you have water or not. They have borderline illegal business practices and there is nothing you can do about it. I once went to city hall Elk Grove told it's private and there is nothing anyone can do about their price gouging and highly unethical business practices.

Terrible! The office ladies there are incredibly rude! They will often lose your payment and make YOU do all the leg work to prove it was cashed because they don't have proper accounting principles to locate payments.

I supposed to land to Sacramento at 3pm on 01/28/19 so I would have enough time to pay them at 5pm.
Unfortunately , I was delayed so I landed at 2AM on 01/29/19. I paid them right away and came to see them in the office at 7:30 as soon as they opened but they do not take any chance to stop the shut off process at all. They didn't care about customers. They only care about money. Awful

There should be a zero and negative stars option. Keep in mind...I have had many bad interactions before deciding to comment. No concept of customer service. Zero competency. I'm a single mom, I work 2+ jobs...I missed the 5pm cut off time to pay my bill while I was at work (by two hours) and was charged $100. I nearly begged to be taken off the shut off list before they shut off my water and was told "All I can do is try". I've been in customer service for 15 years and this is not the way to go. Highly unprofessional and rude staff. They have no concern about the elk grove community/customers. In addition, I've had the field service technicians treat me very poorly and talk to me very disrespectfully. This is completely unnecessary. I'm sure the elk grove community would be happy and feel as though they had a water district that they can trust if a team of professionals came in and cleared current employees out and replaced them with staff that has even the most basic of people skills if not superior. Otherwise, the current staff is in severe need of some cross-training including a customer service 101 course. These issues every one is commenting about need to be addressed/reported to put a stop to this. 4/23/2019

Terrible customer service, I called in to ask about my bill and how I could change the mailing address. The lady was rude and had a bad attitude, acted like I should have already known it could only be done in person. Even though they're backwards and technologically lacking, somehow I'm supposed to know that you have to do everything in person! They'll verify you over the phone and release private information such as your billing, but oh no... don't change a mailing address, that could be too sensitive.
