Elitch Gardens - Denver, Colorado Review

This place is starting to get rundown and no longer has an allure. Seems like most rides are down.

Fun place to go but food prices are outragous, I payed 15$ for 3 small sodas and even the worker was surprised at how much that cost.

Usualy awesome, but today almost nothing was open and it sucked

Typical amusement park expectations with the long lines, over priced food and what not. What is upsetting about this place is the rudeness of the staff and atmosphere. We will definitely not be getting season passes again.

It's a good decently clean park but tbh I'm scared of coasters lol

My daughter and I were visiting friends in Boulder and we went to Elitch for an afternoon. We loved it! I appreciated the simplicity and ease of getting around, it was clean, and super fun! we had a great interaction with couple of staff that made my daughter's day. Fun summer memory!

The workers that run the waterslides and lazy river today were very obnoxious and showed favoritism to only people that they knew even if they were breaking the rules. I didn't trust them they need more responsible employees with respect for all of their customers. Other than that everything else was great

Minus the lines it's a pretty fun place kids love it for sure. Swimming,Beer,food,games and rides.

Best attractions and water park theme park. I enjoy it and so the kids do

I spent well over $500 on season passes for my children to have an awesome summer. 3 of the 4 passes were purchased as congratulatory gifts for my sons. I take them yesterday 6-27-2017 and we're not there 15 min before I get notified by my step son that security and police and taken my son to their little room for trespassing! How in the hell is he trespassing when he has a season pass? Anyway, I go to the front of the park where my son is being held and knock on the door, one security answered and I told him who I was looking for, he tells me to hold on while he goes in the back to find out. 20 minutes later he comes back out with some ass hole cop. He proceeds to tell me they aren't releasing my son to me, HIS MOTHER because he's being charged with trespassing. Again I ask how is it trespassing when he has a season pass, he told me he didn't have to explain anything to me and walked away from me. Long story short, they mistook my son for another boy who indeed trespass earlier in the day, even though another officer confirmed my son wasn't the one who trespassed they said he can't come back for 12 months because he refused to talk to the police until I got there, I've instructed my boys to not speak to the police if they ever encounter them until I or dad get there. So he did what he was told, now he can't go back. He can't return because the police and security didn't like the fact that he did what his mom told him to do and waited until I got there to talk to them, once he knew I was outside he knew he could tell them his name, and he did. This place is a filthy JOKE!! Because dumb broad thought she knew for sure it was my son that they caught earlier in the day trespassing and it turned out it wasn't, now he can't come back and she still has a job of course.

Fright fest is fun and I had a blast. Haunted Houses and roller coasters is a great combination.

We had our company picnic here this year and I genuinely enjoyed our time spent here that day. We were able to ride a handful of the rides before the rain ended up closing all of them for a good while. We had been there since 10 am and we were starting to get tired so we were going to leave when it started to rain. When we left we were able to get rain checks on the fast passes that we bought right as it started raining. The only reason for the 4 stars is that the bathrooms were not very clean when we went to use them.

Funnel cakes are awesome and you must go to the best of the best FRIGHT FEST.

Amazing that this small of a place cost this much. Denver needs to build a bigger park. Overrated

Awesome rides! I always love coming here but the staff could be friendlier. Seems more about money than customer experience. Still fun though!

We had fun and got out monies worth (which was free because of a reading program my kids were in). If I had to pay for the going rate for this place it would have not been worth it. The place is lacking the charm of the old Elitch Gardens. The lines can take a long time even if they are not long. Even the carousel took a long time because the operator walked around at the speed of a sloth. Its almost like management told operators to get in as few rides as possible. If I take my family to an amusement park it will be Lakeside. Less expensive and not long lines, more character and cool operators.

Kim and Melany in the water park cabanas were excellent, they went above and beyond expectations. They remembered us from previous seasons. Melany was so friendly and even helped us after her break was supposed to start.

Good park but some of the staff was rude. Many rides had break downs. Lots of odd people.

It's not very big for an amusement park, or at least what I was picturing before I got there. I wish there were more fun rides, and not so many terrifying ones. We didn't go to the waterpark portion, but that's even smaller. All the food is really expensive, and there aren't many snack sized options to choose from. Most of the food is a full meal.

Other than the super long line we waited in for an hour to activate our season pass, the park has lots of small kid friendly rides. The season pass cup w unlimited 99 cent refills is nice as well. Kinda reminds me of Great America back in the day.

We re here in Denver on vacation and I took my little brother here but most of the rides were closed. Then we decided to go over the the water park section but they closed it due to weather conditions when there wasn t even a cloud in the sky. And when we asked for a refund they refused.

We got season passes. It was well worth it. I also recommend the food plan and Souvenir cup. Buying earlier in the season next yr.

You guys dont check bags and dont treat customer right

I planed to have a play date with friends at Eliches 7-18-16 .we are season pass holders and they bought the day pass to spend the day with us . we wanted to let the kids have fun. we started the day at the water park which went really great we did not have any problems everyone had fun. We were planning another play date since it was going so good.Then we decided to try a turkey leg the leg was very tuff we did not even finish it .So we did some rides which zombie workers who seam to be high on something were zoned out .we were rained out for 60 min .we proceeded to finish the day out with dinner and my friends had the meal voucher so we ate at the Ruslers food court .They were not busy there when we ordered. 3 kids chicken meals 4 burgers and 2salads .NOTHING WAS GOOD !!!!! the salad was soggy the fries were rubber the burgers were tuff. Then on top of that the attitudes of the employees was unbelievable. like were asking for them to do there job was a problem. we just wanted a cheese burger .They had bacon sitting there ready to go .so they were mad they had to make a plain one .Also no lids for cups or straws we had 6 kids !!!! we asked for new fries and they did make us some fresh fries but at this point the dinner was ruined. we asked for the management and she tried to do her best but only refunded cash bought food. Which is really a excuse to not return the rest of the dinner .which was $70.00 just for food . Then to have a meeting in the middle of the restaurant with other employees talking about us. the way they operate there is to point blame on the employee as to point them out in a line up type of operation .making us identify the rude worker who did not want to do her job. We left with a bad taste in our mouth .Upon leaving we realized we were being followed and watched by other workers. Which was not necessary!!!! the kids went to ice machine to get a refill and the worker made them empty the cup out. we were right there and hear comes management right there to put there 2 cents in .We bought the plastic cup assuming free refill. We would have paid for the refill but the worker made the kids empty the cup before we even had a chance to buy it. RUDE, RUDE ,RUDE .we just left they don't want our business .At that point the rides we all closed it was not even 7:00PM and kids could only play in the ball zone place. what a rip off .We were so embarrassed and disappointed in the whole experience .I feel bad for inviting my friends ,its too bad we will be spending our money else where. We are forgiving understanding people but they did not do enough to make it up to us. we all work hard for our money .had to go eat dinner after we left .thank you season pass holder

Last year I bought a season pass for Elitch Gardens. I really enjoyed their water park and the rides are fun, but I do have a problem with the way the staff treats their customers. On numerous occasions, I have experienced first hand the bad attitudes of the staff. However, their fright fest is absolutely worth going to! I went in one of their haunted houses and it was one of the scariest haunted houses I've ever been in!!

A circus that doesn't move. Rides are ok but a little dated. Food is as you would expect.

This place sucks everything is overpriced and no drinks exept theirs are .allowed and I was in the wave pool and the life guards didn't save this kid who was drowning so I had to I will never go there again

Fun for the family, go big with the season pass, it's more than worth it.

It can get a little chaotic and the staff isn't always the friendliest. But it's fun all in all.

Great park. The only problem is that a lot of the rides are often closed.

Definitely worth a day at $ 35. A good tip on my part ... Tickets should be bought online, otherwise the park costs $ 50 p.p.
The combination of theme park and water park is great. So don't forget your swimming trunks :)
During the week we had a maximum of 20 minutes waiting time.

I have not been to Elitch Gardens for 5 years, until yesterday. I had 9 people in my party, and an additional 2 of our party had Season Passes. Some of life guards and ride operators should not be working there. They are rude, they are clearly unhappy working there, grumpy, have no manners, yell when there is no reason to yell, disrespectful. It was not just towards us, it was towards everyone. Most of those jerks work in Kiddie Land.... why on earth would they put some grumpy butt working with the children escapes me! They need more younger peppy people in that area! I spent a lot of money there and to have anyone being a jerk is really unacceptable. Unfortunately, they are the only real amusement park in Colorado. Other than that handful of awful employees, the day was good.

Overall a great place for the whole family. Cool troops performing here, all kinds of different rides and establishments with good food.

This place is fun as heck. I highly recommend getting a season pass if you live within 70 miles or so from the park. It's well worth your time. It can get crowded which is to be expected, but sometimes the staff (which is mostly your local... Use your imagination) can be unbearable which is why I deduct a star.

My boyfriend took me there on the 4th of July for my birthday. Great rides, not too long of a wait to get on rides, and clean. We loved it.. we'll definitely be going back!!!

Fun! Lines were shorter than I remember, rides in good shape and are run pretty efficiently.
Food is overpriced but not as bad as some other parks.

Great place and great atmosphere. The only downfall is parking and trying to park when it opens.

Waterpark and dry land rides all in one!! Can't bring food unless you have allergies to what they sell but the food you can buy there is decent.

A elitch needs and update hadn't been in a few years but alot of rides were shut down and it wasn't worth what I paid.

They have lots of attractions shut down a lot of the time

Really was a let down compared to other theme parks I've been to. I guess growing up in Vegas where every building down town has its own roller coaster and mini theme park has my bar set high. But if you like dizzy rides, this place is for you. They had alot of rides shut down due to high winds, yet there was not a high wind all day...

It is great! Knuckle crunching roller coasters, a striking water park, and great priced season pass!!!!! The daily tickets are a little too expensive. What you pay for is what you get for the food. And their food is phenomenal. (Funnel cakes are way better than I expected) this year, if you have a season pass, you get a sneak peek party today! the water park is opening even earlier on may 24!!!!! Hope you guys have a great time!

Awesome place for a day trip and worth the price if you find some coupons. The only downside is the horrid bathrooms and terrible food and service for the water park cabanas

I've been to this location twice now within a week. Most of which I have noticed has changed since the last time I've been there. (When i was a kid.) No more free parking. That's very unfortunate because it can be pretty costly if you don't add parking to your season pass. Its great if you're here on vacation and only need it for one day. But those who live here. OUCH! Great food deals if added onto the pass.. But! Again OUCH! Be prepared to drop 100.00 on food. 100.00 on drinks unless you buy the elitch cups and get cheap refills. Gold cups i believe are free refills woo.. 12.99 a cup or so just for a regular. Yes you can bring it every time you visit. I did not enjoy the food myself and recommend people to stay away from the chicken tenders. My children and I got very very sick for 3 days. The chicken in the food court. The food stays outside just sitting so 90% chance your food has been there a while so yes. It is cold and probably stale. The manager yells at the teenagers for standing around while you are being served. Thats always nice. When we asked for a refund after a few bites of the food... We were made to wait around for 45 minutes. We were tried offered a remake of the food before they even understood we just wanted a refund and toilet time to throw up. It was very disappointing. Lesson indeed learned. If you haven't brought your own coolee in your car.. Plan a better food outlet. The burgers looked good but didn't taste so great. Lots of comments from many people. The rides are pretty fun. Waiting in line isnt so bad if everyone is at the water park. Even then.. Thats not terrible at all. The water is cold and refreshing. 10x more life guards. They're on top of letting kids know they need a life jacket and where to get it for free. Most employees seem pretty great. Great mood. They make you smile and they least acknowledge you when you're about to join in on a ride. I enjoy taking my kids there and we hope to go soon for another experience.

Great place but it does get really crowded so i would suggest you get there early!!
