This company is horrible to its customers, my brand new 2018 vehicle was struck at in my drive way and all they have done is give me half information, also charging me a bunch of hidden fees such as abetterment fee for the car parts that has less that 20,000 miles on it. Honestly I dont know if Iam being treated unfairly because of my ethnicity or other but i do plan on taking legal action , also been a customer since 2011 with 2 cars and a home God forbid if the other car struck my house I would be living in a home with a huge hole in it.
I've never had a bad experience. The customer service is great, whether you're filing a claim, modifying existing policies, or becoming a new customer. They promptly paid my claim in full, aside from the deductible, of course. They even provided great advice when asked.
Edit: spelling
Had the insurance for over 2 years and I never got any costumer support from them. My second year around they bumped up my Insurance by $400 for no reason ( No accidents or anything). I went through the process with switching companies and without me giving any kind of consent to renew they did and when I got my new insurance they charged me for a month of coverage. Just trying to get one last penny out of you. Horrible.
I've been with Electric Insurance for 30+ years. I have three accidents. The first one was my fault. They took care the claim and my premium went up for the following few years. No problem! Learned my lesson! The second accident was also my fault but I was able to justify it because it was on a snowy day. No premium increase! The third accident was 50/50 at fault. They guided me to fix the damage on my car and I paid for the deductible.
Nobody wants to get into an accident regardless who's fault. When it happens, I am confident in Electric's specialists to handle the claims.
I have been a customer since 1999. 3 vehicles on policy. NOT 1 loss, no tickets, safe driver. I made the payment 11 hours late and they want 560.00 to re-instate the policy. Very easy to say "we understand" and re-instate the policy. But their claws came out and they showed their true selves. Money before Customers. Employees and supervisors could care less about the reason. All they care about is the money obviously. Well, now you will be without any more of my FREE money.
BUYER BEWARE!!!!!! Their real nice if the money continues, but miss a payment by 1 hour and you will see the real Electric Insurance Employees rear their ugly heads.
They want you to be loyal to them but show NO LOYALTY to you at all!
Don't make the same mistake I made!
cheap insurance, poor consumer service, I had a car accident with one of your clients a month ago + and you still can't solve our case
I love my insurance company but unless you brought it with you when you moved from out of state, new policies are not available to WA residents.
Great company. Been with them over 25 years. Agree Dalton is great customer service. Others are great as well.
We have our auto and home insurance through electric insurance and they have made everything a breeze. From dealing with our mortgage company for us, to making sure we had the right coverage levels, to resolving claims, their customer service is always phenomenal.
At the beginning, they offered us low rates, and then raised them each year for the last 5 years (raised over all about 2k a year). With the way they were raising our insurance we would have sell because we can't afford the insurance. The only thing they tell you is to raise your deductible and it will be cheaper every month.
Every time I talk to Electric Insurance, I expect to be taken advantage of. I have a different insurance company now and saving about 3k a year overall.
These people will rob you.
I've been with Electric Insurance since 1986. They are great. No excessive increases, even with an accident. Great customer service. Ignore the one star cranks.
I was a client for over seven years. I bought a car on a Saturday and tried to add to my existing policy and I couldn't because they are closed on Saturday. I ended up having to get a policy from a new company. I tried to cancel and bring all of my insurance to the new company and was told they will send me information on how to cancel but never did. Good luck trying to cancel.
STAY AWAY>>>>>>>>>>>>This is the worst Agency and Company to do business with. No one ever communicates clearly and or follows up. It is mind bending that they would treat senior citizens in such a dismissive way. They should and will be reported to the various government agencies that regulate senior citizens being abused
This two bit company denied a claim with their own client on video admitting fault. Class organization.
Worst company ever! Started my claim back in February when the delivery team told me I had to cut my backsplash because they could not install my microwave. When they came back out, they informed me that it was not needed had the delivery team removed the microwave and actually measured.
Electric Insurance did not press the delivery company to make a decision when making this claim. Finally 3 months later I receive a denial, I appeal, showing documentation and never hear back. Then I reach out for an update when Jay Rinaldi and he calls me to say he forgot to call me and that he has made a decision and they don't have any proof that the second delivery person said it did not need to be cut and according to the delivery company they never said that.
Thank you for calling me a liar and accusing me of being a dishonest person because the Delivery company does not want to cover the small amount that I requested, literally 300 instead of asking for my whole backsplash . Not working with Home Depot or any company that works with this delivery company or Electric Insurance
Terrible insurance company. It's been over 2 months and they still haven't paid my claim!!!!! I wasn't even in the vehicle when it was hit. They suck!!!
We have had Electric Insurance for about 10 years. Today I needed roadside assistance and the experience was dismal. I was on the phone for 51 minutes most of it on hold while John tried to find a tow for my car. After about 35 minutes in, he finally said he would need to escalate my call. This should have been offered about 20 minutes sooner. I then spoke with Tiara in escalation and while she was easier to deal with, we had to Google a tow service to have her call. Then they still had my location wrong.
I don t understand what the problem was, my husband called a few weeks ago for a flat tire in our driveway & someone was there in 15 minutes, and today I was about 3 miles from home.
I don t know who you outsourced your Roadside assistance calls to, but they are terrible. The only positive thing I can say about this experience is that they both were polite.

Wonderful employees who go the extra mile to handle a claim.
Copied from my Yelp review:
Disappointing. I feel betrayed.
We had Electric Insurance on our cars for 13 years, and were enrolled in autopayments through our insurance agency. Around the time of my mother's passing (and transitioning the accounts fully understand my name), apparently they decided we were behind in our payments. I don't know what went wrong in their system, but they cancelled us, and refused to hear anything from my insurance agency or myself to work it out (and we were perfectly willing to catch up and continue), then threatened to put us to collection for the back-pay which after their forcing us to take our business elsewhere we didn't want to pay for the obvious reason that if they were gonna mess up and cancel us after so many years when we were already on autopay with them and didn't want to hear a thing about it from us, well we didn't want to hear a thing about it either after moving on to a better deal anyway. So basically, over the cost of a few months of payments in which nothing happened anyway, they pushed us from former customers who ended up finding a better deal anyway, to people and their friends telling everyone not to use this company and why.
Horrible, what a disappointment after over 13 years of having been loyal, sayisfied customers to them. Rude, unfriendly, completely lacking in compassion, and unaccountable for their mistake - such a significant decline from where they were. The whole scene has become downright criminal, but this was genuinely disappointing. Is this the kind of company you want to do business with?
keep finding reasons not to pay a very simple claim.....I've been told 2x in 2 weeks now the claim would be finalized by Friday. I call each Friday and they still put it off for one reason or the other........
Do not under any circumstances go with this company! In two occasions they have tried to put a surcharge for accident that were not my faults! They are in to make money and they will always try to surcharge you for everything. I am shocked. This is clear scam! They totally screwed me over, added 4pts to my record which I am trying to fight but it will take 8 months just to get a hearing! Shocked.
Very nice and very friendly staff. Pretty easy to access
Customer for over 20 years with both multi-car and home policies. After all this time being a stellar customer (no claims or violations) receive a letter canceling my auto policy. Reason provided is that they found out that one of my cars is not at the address associated with the policy. Reason for this is that one of my kids recently moved into an apartment and I forgot to notify them of this. When something like this happens, who thinks to call insurance to make this change? Assumed any of these changes would be reviewed at policy renewal. It totally slipped my mind. No reminder or warning notice was provided...just cancellation! Terrible way to treat an excellent long-term customer...stay away!
Had an accident with one of their insured which the police found at fault. Two months later still no payment or phone call. When I call them they tell me they are at fault someone will call me. They are a joke! I feel bad for anyone who has them as a carrier.
After being a member for 20 years Electric Insurance doubled my annual premium. When asked why, based on a very minor fender bender that happened last summer, my premiums were doubled. Only accident in 20 years and there was no damage to my own vehicle. Go figure.
The team supporting the customers is absolutely fantastic, especially Dalton. He has been the biggest support, and has always worked hard to make sure I am getting the best deal/coverage possible. He even sacrificed time on a Saturday to handle an emergency situation for me and answer questions regarding a policy. Dalton truly goes above and beyond to give everyone a great experience.
Very bad experience working with them as a client not a customer to file a claim. My wife had an accident and the crash report states it was 100% the other drivers fault and they even got a written warning for an improper left turn. At very beginning, Electric Insurance only admit 80% fault and eventually we settled at 90%... The adjuster or clams specialist is extremely unprofessional. They sent me a report with unfinished sentence......
[Update 1] They keep saying there is no Diminished Value loss because we use OEM to repair the car. I am now going to hire an auto appraisal group to help me to calculate the Diminished Value loss. I will keep updating the situation....
Electric Insurance has been my home and auto insurance for well over 25 years. They have been nothing but EXCELLENT. All work is done via electronic means, their rates are great, and their service is impeccable. I highly recommend them!
Excellent customer service by Dalton Royal. He went above and beyond to help me get best homeowners insurance.
I am not a customer but a client and as far as the claims department the adjuster I worked with is Mary OMG she was amazing and so professional and helpful but as far as Christian in the medical department worst attitude ever and for Adam with the rental department and Hertz just say I'm not a happy client and DO NOT recommend this company. Stay away from them and if you have to deal with this company get a lawyer as soon as possible.
Great working environment, a rare accomplishment in this industry.
Pirates and horse thieves.
Originally, they offered me low rates, and then raised them each year for the last 5 years. I now pay more than I paid with my old carrier.
We've had three (comprehensive) auto claims over the years which do not raise our costs. Each time, Electric Insurance under estimated the damage and underpaid the repair shop . . . making irresponsible and shameful excuses.
We recently bought a second home. We needed space and my wife needed some space for a personal art studio. We bought a house out of foreclosure and will be renovating it.. Electric Insurance refused to insure it (at any value) because of its age and condition.
Every time I talk to Electric Insurance, I expect to be taken advantage of. I'm ready to find a different insurance company.
These people will rob you.
SCROLL DOWN TO VIEW UPDATE ON POOR SERVICE:
PREVIOUS POST: I have had nothing but a stellar experience with Electric Insurance. My parents were GE employees who have had this insurance on their vehicles and home since the 1980's and this is the insurance I have had as well- for the past 20 years. Electric offers personal (real person agent) or online service as a convenience, which I like. I have had 3 claims with small fender bender vehicle accidents within that 20 year period and have had easy and fair experiences every time. The rates for me and subsequently my wife have been on the lower side and have never spiked or increased as drastically as those who have posted prior. 5 STARS (Now 3) for Electric Insurance from someone who has been with them for over two decades.
UPDATE: here's what transpired after a deer ran into our car. The experience was less than stellar. THE PRECEDING IS WHAT I WROTE IN THE ELECTRIC INSURANCE SURVEY OPTION:
"At first my claims representative spoke fast "trade lingo". Since this was my first major loss EVER it was confusing. I had to ask him to explain more. Then he started explaining using words like "grey area", "maybe" and "possibly" when referring to why your company might total our car. Since my car is a major investment and I cannot afford to replace it it is not comforting to hear such flippant use of verbiage. I wanted concrete answers and got none- especially when he was talking about Electric totaling my 50,000 mile $23,000 car and offering us a mere $14,000. It made me very angry! I realize it is easier (and likely cheaper) for your company to just cut a check rather than dealing with claims and body shop but I thought I was more important as a customer of yours for the past 26 years! Once I stated that the representative needed to be more clear about what EXACTLY was happening- he changed his approach and helped me to negotiate with the body shop to get our car repaired. I appreciate his help but will remember this experience as "the big insurance company trying to put one over on the ignorant yet still loyal customer". I once raved about Electric Insurance as each experience has been a complete success and left me confident my company was the best. Now? I'm not too sure you guys aren't like all the rest of them looking out for "the company" first and loyal customers last. I will post this as well to Google ratings and see if others have similar experiences."
