Unless you live in Boulder, or there's an upslope storm, there's really no reason to go to Eldora.

You need to show up well before 8a to have even the slightest chance of getting a parking spot; otherwise, you can expect to circle indefinitely before your 20m walk to the slopes. Once you click in, don't expect to go anywhere quickly. The lifts are 1960's vintage and totally overwhelmed by the crowds that show up on weekends, as is the limited amount of terrain. The lifts also break on a somewhat regular basis. If you're an expert, your terrain isn't really segmented at all so you can expect much longer lift lines than similar terrain at other areas. Speaking of the crowds, there's also public bus service from Boulder which contributes to the overcrowding problem and brings enough troublemakers to the place that the management has developed a very gestapo attitude towards its guests.

The only saving grace is it's really the only ski area that benefits from upslope storms so it's got that going for it. Hopefully someone will buy it in the not-too-distant future and make some very much needed investments.
