Efs: The French Blood Establishment
Etablissement français du sang (Efs) is the only civil operator for blood transfusion in France. It is a non-profit organization that collects, processes, and distributes blood products to hospitals and clinics across the country. Efs was created in 2000 by merging three different organizations: the National Blood Transfusion Center, the French Institute of Blood Transfusion, and the National Laboratory of Blood Products.
