Edward Hopper House Art Center Reviews

Edward Hopper painted many scenes of the hudson river, it's a shame the town that his house is located in has zero views of the hudson river and allowed developers to buy up and privatize the entire waterfront. If Edward Hopper had known what he known back then, he would have moved away demolished his house, and not have his great name associated with the town.

It is a beautiful museum. The paintings are lovely.

Thus is a little gem. A small house that takes very little time to visit. If you are a fan of Edward Hopper seeing the bedroom when sunlight floods in you will immediately recognize where Hopper gets his sense if light. The staff/docents are delightful and very knowledgable. Glad to have fibakky visited this historic place.

Hopper is a unique American art resource and it really adds something to see his art where he grew up and lived. Also, the place is run by a caring staff and features other good exhibitions.

Wonderful look into the upbringing and art of Edward Hopper. A true American Painter. Beautiful small museum filled with information both about his life an art. The town of nyack is beautiful an fun to explore. Highly recommend checking this museum out.

I very much enjoyed my visit to the Hopper house. Don't expect any of his larger or more famous paintings- but rather the home is filled with intimate views into his personal life and growth as an artist. I loved seeing a variety of drawings and studies of his, as well as some personal artifacts like a set of oil paints.
The center also has an exhibit for contemporary artists, which I was not expecting. This month's work was really quite interesting and played nicely off the Hopper legacy.
Lastly, they offer a great student's discount and the staff were incredibly helpful and pleasant.
A must-visit for any Hopper fan!

I'm a big fan of Edward Hopper. So I enjoyed this place tremendously. I managed to spend 2 hours looking around. But that was me taking it slow, reading every sign and watch g the video.

Really incredible to see the early influences of such an iconic painter. Great contemporary exhibit too.

there are not so many paintings. I thought 7 dollars are too expensive for this much of quality.

Was there early in the morning, the museum was closed. The building looks nice, some sculptures in the backyard.

nice house. hopper's sketches were from his childhood. none of his paintings there. installations were an insult to hopper's memory.

I didn't know about the museum until last week. What a nice little gem of a museum. The home is beautifully restored. It's not big but the displays are well set up and provide wonderful insight to the artist and his influences. Very enjoyable.

Attention museum closed on Monday and Tuesday! Very pretty house and garden however.

This was Edward Hopper's home until he was 28. When you see how the light plays in the rooms you can see how his painting style evolved.

My Dad's favorite artist and now mine! I was so greatful that by chance, while traveling I came upon this house. This is my third stop and plan on visiting again. I am a artist and Art Gallery Owner in the Fingerlakes.

Super helpful and loveky tour guide, beautifully kept boyhood home. Great to see his rooms and the added exhibition excellent.

More an historical house than a museum...original drawings, watercolors, and pen and inks but no original paintings in this collection...

It's a nice little museum. You can see Edward Hopper's bedroom (recreated), his high chair where he sat as a baby. Most of the art here is not Edward Hopper's.

A well preserved landmark with interesting info about the artist.

Amazing learning center and museum! Many works by Hopper to see and many more pictures since the last time I visited. A true Hopper lover must place Hopper House on their bucket list!!
