On the Tuesday "open evening" two of us showed up, and stood there prominently in a smallish room where there were a dozen people, mainly in a group chatting round a table. We were were clearly new to the place but were completely ignored. One person made eye contact but made no attempt to speak to us. We went ahead anyway and asked about machining facilities, and someone said "Oh, X isn't here tonight" and resumed their conversation. We left immediately, with the impression that Hacklab is a clique that's not interested in welcoming new people.

The Edinburgh Hacklab is a fantastic makerspace with great access to machinery and tools. Incredibly friendly people make for a fun and enjoyable open night.

Great selection of tools but very small space and people there are really unfriendly.

Great community with access to a lot of tools. Open night was a great laugh, everyone knowlagable and friendly.

Had a quick tour of the building, all the different equipment, for any kind of fabrication you could think of. 3D printer, laser cutters, wood and metal fabrication, electronics. You name it, they had it.
