This is an incredible place. My wife and I stopped by there last week during our honey moon. The staff were AMAZING. Very knowledgable and personable. They did not try to upsell us. In fact, they were very honest about certain plants not surviving the winter if left outside. We bought two Pawpaw trees and a persimmon tree. Never buying trees from Lowes again. I will definitely be back!

I used Edible Landscaping a few times last spring as we spruced up a lot of our home's landscaping. It takes us about an hour and a half to get there, but found it well worth the drive. I not only have been extremely pleased with EVERYTHING we bought , I learned so much about how to plant my items and care for them. Although I am not a gardener and usually kill all my plants, even my kiwi's and goji berry plants are thriving.

i would whole-heartedly recommend them!!

I did a lot of research before deciding on ordering what I needed from Edible Landscaping. I had actually seen some videos from them, and ran across their site several times before, so I already had them in mind. Plus, they were one of the only places, that had almost everything I wanted. Their selection is amazing, and easily one of the most vast in the industry. I made a pretty sizable order with them. I am happy to say, everything was packaged well, and even in the pretty rough trip it took in the summer heat, everything arrived alive, and well. At this point, if something doesn't make it, that's on me. I will definitely continue to do business with them, and would highly recommend them.

We ordered a Northstar Sour cherry tree last fall ...

We ordered a Northstar Sour cherry tree last fall which was delivered in September. It looked good, was planted promptly and watered carefully. This spring it leafed out, flowered (it had five cherries at one point), watered as the spring season was dry, then the leaves curled up and it died. We have had other fruit trees that we planted this spring that have all done well and have many years of working with fruit trees (apples, pears, plums, peaches, cherries etc). We notified EL as the tree was guaranteed for one growing season. Their offer was a new tree at half price (+ shipping - $25). So now we're up to $117.50, of which $50 is shipping costs, for a single dwarf cherry tree. We declined their offer/ We like the idea of buying local ( in Virgina, we're from Roanoke) but EL is disappointing in their approach to our problems and absurdly overpriced for what they offer. Superior customer service should accompany the prices they charge. We don't need them and they apparently don't need us. I'd give EL 0 stars if I could for this experience.

The folks seem knowledgeable. I have only met the owner and one of the young ladies who works here but my first impression of them is that they have a pretty good handle on what they are selling and how to take care of them.

The young lady (sorry, her name escapes me) who was obviously very busy preparing plants for the season offered to give me a tour of the entire place as it was my first time visiting (it certainly won't be my last). They were very courteous and willing to assist me in any way needed and allowed me to browse their stock at my own leisure without feeling pressured whatsoever.

They have some truly amazing plants in the greenhouses. I guess "amazing" is subjective to what you are used to buy some of the plants (Flying Dragon Trifolate Orange comes to mind) look like something straight out of fantasy movie.

I purchased some fig trees, berry vines, and a couple other items which after prepping and replanting I couldn't be happier with. They have a large selection of somewhat rare and hard to find plants as well as a multitude of things you just don't see in VA on the norm.

Some of the prices are a little higher but for the care that is given, being organic, and the selection, I don't feel that the prices are extreme at all in most cases. Some may disagree but frankly I am quite pleased with my overall experience so far.

UPDATE 2019 July 10 Still have not heard anythin...

UPDATE 2019 July 10 Still have not heard anything from this Nursery about the Persimmon tree that died back to the Rootstock. I since have read several bad reviews on these dishonest people and now this will move into the next phase of retribution for those that lack integrity. I assure you they will think long and hard before they ever deal with customers this way when I have finished my work!!! DO NOT USE THIS NURSERY!!!

l purchased 3 Persimmon trees from them last year, 2018. A Weber, a Ruby and a Meader. The Weber and Meader looked best when they arrived but I know that the 1st year that is usually how they grow. The biggest of the trees was the Weber and it looked the worst by fall. The Weber died and it was difficult to get some assistance. Actually the rootstock below the graft is alive but above is dead. It's been 3 days ago now I sent a email and they still haven't replied. I will be making a YouTube video narrating this process. I was a 1st time customer and am disappointed in the outcome so far.

I called ahead and should have known what kind of service to expect when questions were answered with you should just look online (which I had already done). However, we established they had a few trees of interest so I drove over. Hard to tell where to look for help and the fellow that it turns out does work there but initially seemed like a trades person looking at some utility issue glanced at me a couple times while I waited for him to finish talking to others and never asked if I needed help or acknowledged me at all, then walked off to do something for the people he was talking to. I didn't see anyone else who could help either. Wasted an hour of a day of vacation I took to work in garden. Was prepared to spend hundreds of dollars today and would have spent much more over time. Apparently, not interested in my business.

I ordered a seedling pawpaw in April 2015. The shipping was fast and the customer service was great. The plant was small but strong. It took a couple of months to establish. By September 2015 it had more than doubled its size.

We love this place. My family usually orders larger plants, but recently ordered 3 Kiwi vines in the 3 and 4 inch containers. We expected flimsy little plants, but instead received thick, foot-long vines. Our family has placed several orders of trees, shrubs and vines in the last few years and always receive healthy specimens. They come packed very well and the staff is knowledgeable. This is the go to place for unique edibles and cold hardy specimens. Awesome.

Ordered two trees. One is ok but it comes from another nursery, a nursery that also sells trees at home Depot I could have driven 5 minutes and gotten the same tree instead of having it shipped across the country and stressed out. The other tree was shipped and was poor quality it's dead after being in the ground a few weeks. The trees are very expensive in the quality is very poor. I contacted customer service but received no help. I will not be ordering from them again.

Large variety and selection. The location is full of mature varieties of the plants they sell to give you a better idea of spacing. Knowledgeable staff. It is outdoors on a hill so maybe not as easy for elderly or disabled to get around.

Micheal, George, and the whole staff are super friendly and knowledgeable about plants. They are very honest and straightforward which I appreciate. I live quite near Edible Landscaping and have had the privilege to go there several times. A friend of ours used to work there, and he recommended the nursery to us. I purchased a Meyer Lemon tree from them. It has done very well. On occasion it has been covered with clusters of fragrant flowers, and last summer through this winter there were 12 ripe lemons on it at one time! In all, through the 3 or 4 years I've had it, I've had 15 lemons to harvest and countless flowers. This spring I plan on getting two more citrus trees from Edible Landscaping. I have recommended them to several people and shown them my lemon tree, and they're all impressed. Good job on the great plants!

I have ordered many products from edible landscaping in the past year. The last order I placed there was a problem with the shipping. Two of the trees got damaged. I called edible landscaping told them about the issue I had and they quickly resolved it. They shipped me two more tree in less than a week. I was really impressing before with there customer service. They actually call you if they have a problem with your order. Other companies they just send you an email and your order usually stays in limbo for a while. I will order again and recommend my friends.

Ordered a couple hundred dollars worth of plants, I think. Never got a confirmation of any sort, an estimated delivery date, or anything. Tried calling the phone number, keeps going to a automatic Verizon voice recording. I buy lots of plants, all the time, I like the idea of being able to get so many edibles in one place. But I need to be able to get hold of you or at least have some sort of confirmation that my payment was received and an idea of when to expect the plants. i'll give you guys a better review if you can fix this. Really I just need to be able to call you to see if the order went through or not

I have not picked up my fruit trees yet, but I am very happy regarding my communication and experience with them on the phone. George made me feel like he really had my best interests in mind. The price was reasonable for the trees I purchased. I will update when I go to the nursery and pick it up.

Update: I went to the nursery and the process was very simple and I even had two little dogs greet me. The trees looked very healthy. I am very satisfied with my experience

Edible Landscaping has just about every non-tropic...

Edible Landscaping has just about every non-tropical fruitful shrub or tree you've heard about, and much more! The expert horticulturists here will show you several varieties of your favorite berry, nut, or fruit, and help you decide which is best for your garden or yard. They have something for every soil and shade level. This is the most exciting, unusual, and valuable nursery in the region. Go learn about jujubes, Japanese heartnuts, and gooseberries, and grab a Nanking bush cherry for your patio garden. You will be glad you went, and you'll go back.
