Run as fast as you can from this builder. The Potomac Crest homes in Woodbridge is like living in a cardboard box. Please note if you purchase a home from this builder it would seem like you and your neighbor live in the same home with a partition between your bedroom and their bedroom. You will be able to hear their entire conversation and smell everything they cook. Run as fast as you can! Invest your money in a well built home.
We work for Basheer and Edgemore and the consistently pay 6-8 months late. If you are a contractor I would not recommend working with them.
STAY AWAY. You earned your money, don t waste it with this builder...unless you like wasting money. Absolutely nothing LUXURY or GRAND about their homes. More like OVERPRICED and TERRIBLE QUALITY. 90% of the sub-contractors are day laborers working out of their trunks and not legitimate tradesman. Probably explains why there isn t a single straight wall or 90 degree angle in the house. They ll be your best friends until you sign the paperwork. They ll process your payments the second they can. Everything else, good luck. You ll have to scream, fight, scream some more, and then maybe 25% of what you PAID for will get done. Townhomes selling for around $550-600k, paying for the cheapest, crappiest quality of labor and it shows. Makes no sense other than they are putting money in their wallets. Literally got harassed while I was at the title company asking why the money hadn t come through...uhhh because I m still signing the paperwork??? Pre-settlement hit list, still not addressed. 90 day walk through, items still not addressed, 11 month walk through, items still not addressed.
The $1MM+ homes, I would say stay away because they use the same contractors in the townhomes as they do those homes. Overall terrible experience. Wouldn t trust anyone at this company with $25 of my own. But I signed the paperwork so they got what they wanted. Best i can do is warn others.
The community has monthly get together to air their grievances about Basheer. Pretty sad to say the least.
They have well built homes as per my experience building in the Maymont development in vienna , VA. As, but as expected, nothing s perfect. That s why you have a warranty.
B and E strong armed my husband and I into taking possession of the home when there were plenty of outstanding issues. With a promise to make good, we agreed. We were told that we would be in breach of contract if we didn t.
Here s were the tables turned. After we bought, we got some but not all issues resolved. At the one year walk through these items and more were addressed and listed. Contractually, they are obligated to fufill this list and that was the plan. I got excuse after excuse, unanswered phone call followed by unanswered emails, leading to now four years later I still have not had all my one year walk through issues resolved. Funny they answered my HOA last
Month who called about my shutters , but they can t call me. They told the HIA that my shutters were on the list . Clearly it must by a 4 year long wait list.
I have discussed with my neighbors, I am not alone . In addition, when I went to leave a yelp review it s like I could have written the review that was there but it was my neighbor, a stranger, beating me to the punch.
They are very nice until the closing then they become unresponsive, unreliable, and then THEY breech the contract on the home buyer.
I finally gave up trying to resolve this myself and went to the government agencies. I am in talks with a lawyer and media stations as well as they used consumer intimidatation to get both myself and the other yelp reviewer to take a house that wasn t finished, and then breeched the contract by not fufilling the corrections of the closing or the one year walk through.
I have built several homes in my life. This is a unique situation and an unfortunate irresponsible company taking advantage of individua families one by one. In general other builders have been fair and responsible to me and my neighbors, so please build your dream home! Just not with Basheer and Edgemoore or the dream will turn out to be a time consuming nightmare.
