Some sellers that try and sell you stuff on here and say they dont take PayPal they want cashiers check mailed or money order mailed to them they will not contact you back when you ask them why not PayPal and they will not respond to you back... SCAM..
I've been on ebay a while, and I've had good results with it, but what I really hate is their supporting pirates and profiteers during the COVID-19 crisis. A 4-pack of toilet paper for $32 and a can of Lysol disinfectant for $33. Five to ten times markup just to make a profit and rip people off. People with no morals or ethics. Ebay supports them because they make money at the same time instead of booting them like Amazon does. Despicable pirates, you will get yours in the end for ripping people off.
Vile, unlawful, unfair, unhelpful, cheating, lying, automatons. Not a brain cell to share between them. A scammer's paradise, with no help for the decent, and no consequences for the criminals. Customer service is zero, the simpletons either can't understand plain English, reply with idiotic typo ridden stuff like "I am pleasing to be helping with this unjustly item" from people called John Smith, Jane Jones and Peter Williams who all live in Delhi. Bizarre how these jokers haven't been taken down by some type of 'we've had enough' bandwagon by the Sun newspaper. Vile, simply vile.
Ebay used to be a place to go to sell stuff and make money. Now their outrageous fees coupled with Paypals "service" fees are just too much. Honestly 10% on a 400.00 sale in addition to listing fees and all the other fees they can dream up? Then another 16 or 17 dollars in Paypal fees in addition to having to wait weeks for your money? Then if you end a listing early, a fee for that? Forget it. I am done with Ebay.
I can't possibly say worse things about their customer service. As an ebay Power Seller, I still can't speak to anyone who has even a slight clue. They fail to honor their own promotions and then charge you unauthorized fees. When you call you are forced to document everything with no burden on them whatsoever. Even if you prove your point the best they will do is tell you that someone will review the matter within 3 days. This never happens, you will not be called back, you will not be emailed and you will not receive a credit. These people should be put in jail.
Ebay is not good for a new business. Be aware that if you are selling high dollar items like my business does you are limited to 5 items or 500 dollars in sales per month until EBAY deems you a worthy seller. For me this was 1 item per month- When I spoke to EBAY about increasing the limit due to the costs of the items I sell they stated I needed more sales to get a limit increase which amounted to I would need to sell 1 item a month for a year to be able to have my limit increased to 2 items per month- Ridiculous, I had the highest rating you can get as a buyer and now that im a seller EBAY feels its ok to do the following: 1: Speak in a condescending tone and state point blank that I need to prove I'm a quality seller -- And I quote "Worthy of the EBAY name..". 2: Unrealistic limitations for businesses that intend on doing more than $500 a month in web sales. (Any small business that intends on succeeding by moving quality goods should avoid EBAY...)
Ebay is great as long as you have zero issues. As soon as you need something worked out...it is a run around. Its hard to get good and accurate help. Simple tasks are made difficult. So I would still say its a good place to sell something, but just be aware of difficulties you can have.
I received an email saying I'm going to get $20 if I sell $20 worth of stuff on ebay. Then I sold 4 playstation 3 games so I can make $50 to get new ones. They ended up not giving me the $20 and charged me about 5-7$ on top of that. Also, they must have deleted my email on that account, because I couldn't find it anymore even though it was still in my email's inbox, but it wasn't on my ebay messages anymore. I also called them and they made it seem like I was lying when I still have the proof that they sent me an email. AVOID EBAY AT ALL COSTS! I'm going to put this review in as many places as I can so people know who they are dealing with.
Ebay sucks and not only has bad customer service, it has no customer service!
Absolutely abysmal wretched company with horrible substandard customer service. All their call centers are based in India or the Phillipines now, so you can't even talk to an American. Instead you get some brainless foreigner who isn't qualified to tie their own shoes much less trouble-shoot a technical issue. Ebay is a dishonest, unpatriotic, extremely disloyal company who cares more about profits than they do keeping their buyers & sellers happy. You can't even email them for customer support anymore, their website mandates that you call their phone # and you're forced to talk to one of their undecipherable clueless agents overseas in some third-world country, and after many many days of doing this, spending hours and many transfers, dropped calls, being hung up on, put on hold forever, etc, etc I've come to the inescapable conclusion that eBay simply does not care about their customers anymore. I couldn't possibly give this greedy mindless empty shell of a company a worse rating - absolutely a big fat ZERO.
The nice thing with eBay is you can find all kinds of stuff in locations all over the planet. There was a time when you could buy stuff and not have to pay sales tax. Nowadays, they charge tax. Delivery time of items varies, depending on location and how the seller operates. The problem with eBay is, some people renege and it does not appear there are any consequences for such behavior. I have been screwed over as a seller and also as a buyer. I sold a pair of jeans and the buyer did not pay, so that was a waste of time and effort. I purchased some nitrile, disposable gloves and the seller never shipper them. A week after they were scheduled to arrive, I contacted the seller and asked where they were. The seller said they were sold out and that I would get a refund. The refund went through a few days later, So I went weeks, waiting for an item I paid for, only to be back at square one. I have tried to deal with customer service in the past, but it is too much effort for too few results. It is really too bad because they really had something good going on for a while... These days, my eBay purchases are far and few between...
ebays death rattle is getting louder, wake up ebay and move your customer support back to the mainland.....15 years on ebay and ive never seen such malay,i have no confidence left.....
Customer service located in Philipines, Asia, even China, India, what a idiots who answering the phone. US support unreachable, rude, unprofessional... The begining of ebay was great, leter, nothing that a money making- for ebay only. They made it hard for small people and small companies. Who knows how much ebay make, recently they are dislocated the company in small European countries so it is not possible to see how much they really make, anyway we will find other solution soon, ebay is NOT forever.
I don't really know what happened to eBay. Customer service is really knowledge-less. They don't know what they are doing. They keep saying to fax valued and important documents including all the receipts of items over to them so they can know where you buy your authentic products so they can go ahead and buy them too so they can sell them as well on eBay and afterward they will suspend your seller account saying that you are selling counterfeited items that is totally wrong. BUT I have a good news that can be bad at the same time for them: in business, when you loose one fan or customer or seller, you loose 10,000 followers. One day eBay will fall if they keep doing this to people especially honest people. People, eBay used to be good at a certain time, but now it is about to fall. They been selling a lot of fake items like ( Nike Air Mag ) and so on. We need to stand up to be against that, because if we don't they will always do that to other sellers as well.
Pretty high risk business, have gotten ripped off numerous times, but some good deals overall. Unfortunately eBay management doesn't like to get involved in deals that go south.
It s like pulling teeth trying to get help. I need to return something. When you call they hang up if you don t know the extension number. I have been a good customer and no more.
well i have spent 5 days trying to find out why my funds are being held. i have been a seller for 2 years and now they are telling me in order for my funds to be released i must sell 25 items in 90 days. i am not an ebay bussiness and this is unfair being a 100% buyer/seller on ebay. was told on 3 seperate occasions my funds would be released but no help. tryed to call corporate after no satisfaction from cs. cant get anyone on the phone. ebay wonders why they are loosing so many people i guess its due to poor practices . can someone tell me what i can do? plz this is rediculous
You money grubing theives. I report a fraudulant seller with proof from UPS and you refuse to help. I guess I'm just one of MANY people screwed and need to jump on one of these class action suites. Go ahead and put a restriction on my account for posting this.
Their are people using ebays likeness to scam people out of money and they're doing nothing about it but give you a website to "file a complaint" !! Nevermind the money you're out of.
