I can honestly say that the folks working in the E.R Department are an exceptional group of individuals that make up one amazing team. They are compassionate, well trained and are true hero's that save lives every day and night..literally. They are all of them a great gift to this community. When your at your worst? They'll be at their best, standing at the ready to do everything within their power to save you and yours. I think that says it all. :).

DO NOT GO HERE UNLESS YOU HAVE NO OTHER CHOICE!!!!
On January 24,2019 my husband was taken there because of Necrotizing Fasciitis (Flesh eating bacteria), he had to have emergency surgery to stop the infection. On March 12&13 he had a urine culture and a bone culture, he was diagnosed with PSEUDOMONAS AERUGINOSA.
How is Pseudomonas aeruginosa spread?

In hospitals, where the most serious infections occur, Pseudomonas can be spread on the hands of healthcare workers or by equipment that gets contaminated and is not properly cleaned.

I have spoken with the hospital and Joann Cummings stated that "Our review concluded that we are unable to substantiate the origin of the infection in question." Now my husband did not go in there with that infection, and he has not left there since he was admitted, so how can they not take responsibility for their negligence???? Please be careful when entering this hospital it may be life threatening. If you complain they suddenly want to send you home so they can blame it on something else. I think it is time to speak to a lawyer about their hospital neglect.

If you're not missing a limb or dying, just head straight to the hospital or an urgent care. Docs in the ER just gave me pain meds and sent me on my way. Funny thing is, the pain meds actually made me more sick. So I left in worse shape than when I came in without a diagnosis. But at least it only took them 3 hours. Pretty disappointing

From the moment that we walked through the doors, we were greeted and assisted through the registration process. Then the nurses that prepped me for my procedure were the sweetest things ever! They were personable and really cared about my comfort. The staff for surgery was also very warm and friendly. I was taken aback by the genuine concern and care given to me over all. Thank you for helping me to quiet my fears and to feel comfortable and at ease.

My husband and I was in a car accident and we were transferred to this hospital for further treatments. From the time we walked into the hospital, every single staff members greeted us with kindness and care. My overall experience with Estern Idaho Regional Medical Center have been great and I would highly recommend sending your loved ones here.

I don't normally have a problem with this hospital but at approximately 11:45pm December 24, 2018. I went to the hospital seeking "help" and they said they weren't able to help me. I wish there was another ER so I could have gotten the "help" I needed.

The nurses who interacted with our surrogate, who had a negative attitude, were rude to us on the phone. Nurses are not to get personally involved in a persons personal life or choose sides. I would definitely not recommend this hospital.

I was away from home when I got sick and needed to get immediate care and ended up in the ER in Idaho Falls. The doctor s and nurse's were very caring and attentive to my fast deteriorating condition. I received immediate attention and the care I needed. Thank you for saving my life and the outstanding medical care your staff gave me.

Dr Gorman and cath lab staff were exceptional but the billing department needs HELP... we paid the remainder of our deductible up front to receive the prompt payment discount. Paid ( $4471.20) on 4-5-19 and here it is 5-25-19 and I have called them 5 different times and Cigna faxed an EOB to them. Cigna notified them the owed me a refund of over $1600 and they just sent me a bill for $9004.54... what a circus!
If it's not remedied in the next 7 days... the press and I will go visit the CEO!
That will be fun.

The only reason why I am giving one star is because of their labor and delivery nurses. They are amazing! The nurses after the baby arrives are terrible though! Not only that but their ER staff is the most unprofessional, unknowable, and lazy people I have met in a hospital setting. My husband and I have had the WORST experiences with either our kids or ourselves over the course of 10 years!

EIRMC in response to your reply, I have contacted JoAnn. Nothing came about it, nothing changed, it was pointless.

EIRMC is now seeing more competition in the area. So much so that they have spent thousands on new glowing signage, advertising their trauma and burn category. Maybe if they spent more on employees, with increasing pay scales and group insurance benefits, this would be a better way to show how much they care. They can't even get contracts for services in the area from certain specialists and anesthesiologists because of the bottom line. Unfortunately, anyone who is an employee or their family member covered under their health care plan, is left with little choice when seeking care, often getting hammered with a large anesthesia bill even when using EIRMC services, or being forced to utilize out of network physician groups- also a significant financial burden.

My mother had a bicycle accident in Wyoming and was taken by air ambulance to Idaho Falls in case she had bleeding in her brain. The nurse was very nice, however I was pretty disappointed with the experience in general. She had pretty bad road rash on her shoulder and no one bothered to clean it or even cover it. Her hair got stuck in it and she had to ask to have the wound covered. She was there 2 days and one night and the doctor visited once, at 6am when none of her family was there. She had a broken collar bone and broken ribs and we were never showed the x-rays. When we asked if we could see them, we were given a disc of the CT scan, which, to someone who isn't in the medical field, is absolutely useless. We STILL don't know if her collar bone is cracked or broken all the way through. We STILL don't know which ribs are broken. There was blood on her bed sheets and her gown and they never changed either for her. Also, the nurse came in with a figure 8 brace for her broken collar bone and it was too small. They said that was the only size they had! Lastly, they prescribed her Tylenol with codeine and she had an allergic reaction so I tried to call her doctor. I was never able to speak to the doctor but they prescribed her something else, again something not very strong. Not being able to see her x-rays and know in what ways her body is broken is extremely discouraging and makes me very uncomfortable. If we have a choice again, we will be going to the Salt Lake City hospital, and not Idaho Falls.

This hospital is just like the one in Pocatello. They look at you if you have insurance. But if you don't the let you sit and then only see for a couple minutes and then have the nurse give you something for the pain and then turn you lose. I don't like taking my wife to the hospital. Because of this. And I won't go. I have found one hospital that will take care of my wife but it is on Indiana.

If there was an option for no stars that would be my choice. Worst hospital we've ever been to. Test us like crap and then send a letter stating your staff treated us appropriately. Plus epidural doesn't work, yet still going to charge for it. Everyone do yourselves a favor and go to mountain view for labor and delivery.

They got me back quickly and had an IV in me right away. Unfortunately, they weren't actually sure what was causing such severe pain. Then they sent me home, still writhing in pain. The Dr said that the ER is not for diagnosing, but for ruling out anything deadly. Just a few days later I ended up back in the hospital (Madison) for surgery. I will not be returning to this hospital again.

Emergency room 5 different times. They give you th...

Emergency room 5 different times. They give you the ring around and suggest the same test that didn't work will work this time... emergency room and they treat me like I'm a mcdonald's customer. The last time they wouldn't help my emergent pain. It's all an insurance discrimination scam they say isn't there. This whole thing last time was even blamed on trump... in a hospital... throwing political bs on me to shrug me off. I told them i didn't want the ct scan that hasn't worked the last four times, but they gave it to me anyway because I signed a contract..... That's the reason? I have reason to sue for discrimination at this point! I was treated by pharmacists! They even took my appendix out because they needed to just 'say something!' I have hurt worse since then in the same area and was charged for it. If you are in pain, there's gotta be a better hospital within a four hour drive that will offer you physicians for assistance. These guys charge you for no help at all, and make you feel like they give you the bare minimum to get through the day. How am i supposed to get a diagnosis to get help with insurance when they won't even help with a diagnosis without insurance???? No witch hunt is worth writing off as 'just the way it goes' yeah I'm sure trump has as much to do with this bs as clinton and obama's perfect plan did.. But throwing this on them so I writhe in pain in the er???? How low can you get??? They offer you help with financing and that's another bs that takes so long they end up charging you for not paying in the process... and they still don't get back to you. This whole hospital is a scam. I bet they charge people for not being able to save them from imminent death.. Which isn't surprising for any hospital that makes money. But there has to be a better option... i've been in the same excruciating torment kind of pain for over two years and I need an answer now!!! This has crippled me and without a diagnosis I can't 'claim' that... I need help not policy!!!! These guys don't help. They're not a hospital. They're a pharmacy posing as a hospital. There has to be a better option for me... i am begging god for death at this point and willing to post live about it! Please don't support these vampires!

It was tops, well organized in every way except one. The document in check was too long and it required so many signatures that it was really unnerving. I couldn't possible read it all. I know you ask people to come early, but this document was hard to get through, and besides an agent called me the day before to check me in and I had thought i was all ready to go. Nope. I had to check in again and so that makes this legal document hard and scary and invasive. I don't really care about the reasons for it. Its just too much to anyone can do, so worrisome.

This place is a joke!!!! They are always so busy they can t even help you. I was diagnosed today with pancreatitis for the 6th time only this time they refused to admit me to help me with the horrible pain associated with pancreatitis. They sent me home with nausea meds and a couple pain pills. They said the reason is because they are just too busy and I don t need to stay as bad as someone else.
They also told me I could just come back in a couple of days if it didn t get better. Only thing about that is, it takes three hours just to get out of the waiting room and it costs me 5,000 every visit. They refused to listen to me tell them that I ve already tried all the things I m supposed to do at home and it s not helping. I cried and told them I was in too much pain to leave but they didn t care. I was due more pain meds and it took her 2 hours to get back to me. I would rather die in agonizing pain then go back to this hospital. No wonder people become drug addicts, our medical professionals Suck

I went in via ambulance into ER and cardiac arrested, they found I had a massive pulmonary emboli. They Saved my life! I was in ICU for 13 nights and every moment I needed someone - the nurses/drs were there before I asked for anything - the whole team on the ICU/ER were amazing!! had to have Physical Therapy there and another great team of Pulmonary Respiratory nurses. So blessed to have been in such excellent care and caring teams. All gracious and humble I am still in total awe of them. This was in August 2018 and I thank God for them through Him, everyday for bringing me back to life. Dr Miller is a rockstar with a rockstar team!

I was vacationing in Idaho Falls when I became ill, my blood pressure dropped causing 2 falls. I was taken to the hospital's emergency department by ambulance. My entire stay was excellent. I was diagnosed quickly with a bladder infection and treated immediately. All the staff were very friendly as they did their work. I especially commend Dr. Spears for his care and concern for me and my family (my brother and 2 daughters were with me).

The ER staff impressed me compared to last time I was there (kidney stone). This time it hurt like a kidney stone, 10/10 pain, but was in the wrong location, they quickly ran a CT scan, tested my urine and blood for what was wrong and came up negative with their tests. They think they know what it is (Gastritis), and the pain went away on it's own after their painkillers wore off.
I had 2 nurses that were friendly, one was a student from ISU. The doctor was nice, it was busy so I didn't want to take up too much of their time. I had a nice conversation with the CT tech, when I'm on painkillers I get chatty. And we had a volunteer come to our room, who was nice and got us some snacks while we waited for discharge. The discharge was a little slow due to it being busy, but that is understandable. They were clear on what steps I should take, including seeing my Primary Care Physician.

Went into EIRMC for 3 days in a row with agonizing pain. The staff talks about patients loudly enough for all the other patients to hear. The quality of care McKay Guthrie received at your hospital was wonderful. The staff was professional, well qualified, and very kind and gentle. They were willing to listen when he expressed a need for something, were always aware of family members who also might have been in need, and tried to make a difficult experience easier. The hospital itself was a clean and beautiful environment to be in. Thank you for everything that was done in our behalf. Annette Guthrie

My husband was admitted to eirmc on Monday June 22,2020 at 5pm. After several hours of waiting for a room they then told me they would be testing for covid19 because he had pneumonia and they put on 4th floor. He was quarantined with no visitors. They never took him out of his street clothes for the entire time he was there until Friday when he spilled water on himself. I had to take clothes up to him for his release which was that same Friday June 25,2020 at 5 pm. No bath or sponge bath, pain meds not administered as prescribed. They were incompetent and grossly negligent. Next time I will request Mountain View hospital because of disgraceful inept care at eirmc.

I have been diagnosed with Pancreatitis.. Went to the er tonight because I've been throwing up for five days. Was told my levels were 3-4 times over the normal enzyme levels of 200. But the Dr said because my levels have been up to 5600 at one point that they werent going to do anything..Was not given anything for pain.or nausea.. Was just given fluids. This Dr was absolutely ridiculous.. They treat everyone like drug seekers. I can't fake a damn blood test.. Tests showed I was having a Pancreatitis flare and they did nothing because my levels had been higher in the past. I will be filing a complaint against this doctor.

On advice from our insurance company, we went to the ER for evaluation and treatment, while traveling through the area. We received excellent support and care from nursing and other staff. I delivered my baby at EIRMC, and it was seriously in the top two best experiences in my life. I could not have done it without the outstanding nurses and CNAs in L&D and women center. To name a few that helped me.. Tami, Angie, Ressha, Daidrie, nicole, kelly, meisha and tiffany. J'lene was a life saver for me and helped me with my nursing. I would recommend her to anyone that struggles with BF! What an amazing team they have at ERIMC. Doctor Allphin was incredible and the anesthesiologist was a miracle worker.

I felt like the whole team listened to what my husband and I wanted. My husband was involved every step of the way. The hospital was super clean and the food was great. So just wanted to leave a big thank you for making the start of our little family something extra special for my husband and I. Thank you EIRMC!

There is one nurse and CNA on the fourth floor that shouldn't be in the healthcare. The male nurse that was to care for my husband during the day, humiliated and ridiculed him. This nurse telling my husband he was faking and it was all in his head and what he wanted was sympathy, and he needed to do things for himself and not rely on other to help him. Later that night we learned my husband was dieing. The treatment my husband endured throughout the day has had a devastating impact on my husband. Now having to work through the planning for my husband's death we have to work through the humiliation my husband faced with this nurse. I'm very angry, if this nurse treated my husband like this how many others has he treated in this manner. For myself I will never go to this hospital for anything ever.

Not really happy with the nurse hotline. I called cause my son was shaking uncontrollably for about 5 minutes and his temp kept rising I can't remember the'name of the nurse that I talked to but she talked to me like I was making the'whole thing up. She asked me how cold it was outside and when I told her she acted like I had my kid outside in the cold! Will not be calling again or using this services. Instead of helping she made me feel like I wasn't doing the right thing and that I was putting my kid in danger. In pretty sure my kid had a fever seizure last night but since the nurse just wanted to treat me like I was crazy and making things up I didn't really get any help....

The hospital itself was great very clean. Nurses were very kind and wonderful. But the billing department is so ridiculous! I had to fight with them for 6 months to adjust my bill to what it shouldve been with insurance coverage. Then they kept trying to hit me with late fees that were their fault to begin with and then for my last payment they never ever sent me a bill for it and just sent it to collections! I was furious! I had tried calling and asking what my balance was multiple times! So just know if you go here the service during your stay is great but just plan on at least a year of headaches from their pathetic excuse of a billing department and possibly ruined credit!

I'm a little mixed about what to say here. I earne...

I'm a little mixed about what to say here. I earnestly believe that EIRMC is the best hospital in the area, no holds bar. I have an autoimmune condition which has caused me to go a few times to the ER. I've even spent a night there after a surgery. I'd say 98% of the staff are very friendly and professional. (note, I'm writing this review as I got an email from EIRMC asking how my visit was and it sent me here). However, on my last visit, I was in so much pain, the paramedics had to give me the max dos of pain medicine to get my pain under control before I got there. When there, I started getting back into horrible pain again as the medication started to wear off and the ER doctors wouldn't give me any. Then they took some blood tests and said everything looked "fine." I just wanted to get the heck out of there so I could go home and take a bolas from my pain pump. A few days later, a rep from EIRMC called me checking up on me (which is a very nice and professional thing they do). I told him that I was not doing well and am getting worse. I have a MRI with sedation coming up next month and will be back there then. Anyway, I told him that I'm starting to get random bleeds, and the pain is worsening and such to the point where it's near impossible to sleep. He mentioned that one of my blood tests showed that my blood count is low. So I have to wonder, why did the doctor tell me that all the tests were ok? So, for that visit, I am very unsatisfied with EIRMC. However, on other visits they took really good care of me, and like I said, I honestly believe that they are the best hospital in the region. So it's really hard for me to rate and post this comment. Would I go back to EIRMC? Definitely. Do I trust them more than any other hospital in the area. YES. However, my trust took a hard hit with my last visit and now am sort of hesitant to come back again. I've been in debilitating pain due to a diagnosed medical condition for five years. I had 4 surgeries in 12 months. I have a pain pump and my health is worsening. I recently had a bad fall where I landed on my stomach and I felt something "pop" inside. It also did something to my left shoulder and nerves where I can only raise my left arm a tiny bit. Even with all that, now I'm worried that EIRMC is just going to start treating me like "Oh, him again." I can't don't want to go through that. The hospital is 45 minutes away from where I live and traveling is very hard on me. I don't want to take that long trip when I'm in terrible pain only to be treated this way again. So, I dunno. They are good, but not perfect. 4 out of 5 stars due to my last visit.

The nurses and Doctor Vega were amazing. They made sure I was okay and took care of me when I had pneumonia and there was some concern that I had covid at the beginning of the pandemic. My first stay was great and we had no issues with billing.

Then came Dr. Thompson. I was readmitted to the hospital for worsening pneumonia. My lungs rattled when I breathed out, and my heart rate was high. The first time he checked on me, he walked in, listened to my heart for 5 seconds, then said I sounded good and should be able to leave the next day. I was checked in in the middle of the night, and he wouldn't prescribe any medication until after dinner the next day, and I had to bug the nurses constantly for even that. My husband even came and waited in the lobby trying to bring me my necessary medication, which they understandably refused. In their defense, the nurses were just doing their jobs, and they were fantastic. Dr. Thompson just wasn't. He didn't check my lungs until after I had hounded him about the antibiotics I was supposed to receive, and not until my second day admitted.

And to be clear, no, it was not pain medication. I was told by the er doctor that I needed antibiotics and I have no thyroid, so I needed my thyroid medication. They didn't want me on asthma meds because there were concerns at the time that my medication might make covid worse, if I had it, and I accepted that just fine. But we were concerned that without thyroid hormone, I would have worse problems. I consider that negligence.

My family advised me to complain to the hospital, which I did, and he was a little better after that, but it was really frustrating when it became clear that I would have been better off at home with my husband and 4 children than in the hospital. Especially for the price.
