We took my little grandson Kingston to EIRMC when he was sick this past weekend. The nurse, Juanita was amazing and the morning following upon our return the staff who met with us treated us with kindness and explained everything about a virus in detail, to make his recovery possible. They followed up the next morning with two phone calls and this grandma was HAPPY! He's doing better. And back to his old self. Thanks again. Althea Sittre

I felt safe, hopeful and assured that the medical staff listened to me and would take good care of me. they did just that!!!! I would highly recommend EIRMAC. the financial Dept and admissions lack a sense of caring when I was very scared!!! they were all about the business and I did not feel cared for or appreciated!! rehab was great as well..the CNA nurses and doctors were the best!!!

One of the worst places to take anyone!

One of the worst places to take anyone!
My grandma had to be taken to ER and was misdiagnosed twice, She was getting worse after being there 2 day's in a row and finally after 2 day's an internal medicine doctor came in and took a look and found out yes the 2 doctors prior had not properly diagnosed her and sent her home.
Thankfully this doctor knew exactly what was going on and got my grandmother admitted.
That was the first time, Second time same exact situation and we didn't want to have to go there but where our transportation is limited and had to do what we had to.
Each and every time we would call and ask about our loved one and how she was doing and what meds they put her on.
Not a single nurse could provide us with the proper information we needed.
Nurses are ignorant on 5th and 4th floor, Seemed like every time we went to visit our loved one we had to stop and let them know and the staff was playing games on their phone and they'd get upset if you bothered them about going and seeing your loved one.
I would not recommend this place to anyone especially elderly people it's a nightmare, They love to snowball your loved one's so they don't have to deal with them.
Snowball for those that aren't aware is giving the patient medication that will pass them out or turn them into a zombie.
It's not a good place and if there was an ability to - star's I'd give them a -5 or as high as possible.

I came on a ambulance to emergency at hospital around midnight or a little after for consipation that I had very bad. And the nurse that was on till 3am left. Her name was BeckyShe were so helpful with me, did not make me feel uncortalbe. She put the pillow behind my back. She ask if I want to sit or lay down. She change my bottom because of the problems that I had. How caring and nice like her, I wish was everyone. World needs more nurses like her, the kind of one that really trying to help and give everything from them sells. Thank you so much for caring for me Saturday night till 3am Sunday.

Originally was quoted 2,600 for a surgery I was getting. 3 days before the surgery they called and told me it was gonna be 19,000 dollars when I told them I was quoted the 2,600 they countered with 10,000 and then wouldn t go down from there saying I was quoted an outdated price .

I canceled my surgery and luckily through a friend was able to find a place in utah that is doing the surgery for just under 3,000.

Avoid going here at all costs if you re paying out of pocket and don t have insurance. They will try to scam you out of so much money! Luckily I knew around what I should be paying from research I did or else I could have been in trouble. After this experience I will never go here.

Also this is the first one star review I ve written in my life but I guess that s what they ask for when they try to charge me 7 times more than they quoted me.

I had fallen on the ice and hurt my head and shoulder. The ambulance took me to the emergency room. The nurse, doctor and other personnel were very compassionate and helpful. I was impressed that I was seen immediately and was x-rayed, CAT scanned and out of there in 2 1/2 hours. The only thing that would have made it better would have been some pain relief before I was headed out the door.

We had a disappointing visit in the L&D department. Every night they seemed to be severely understaffed. We had no complications but they checked us out 6 hours after we were told to be ready to leave because they were running late .
We asked twice to confirm some prescriptions were sent and they confirmed. When we called to pick up prescriptions turns out they never sent them. Power went out, on Different occasion the computers went down.

The visit itself wasn't bad. The billing fiasco afterwards is. To make a long story short, I met my out of pocket max back in February of last year due to a shoulder surgery. I had another procedure done in November at EIRMC. All the costs were covered by my insurance, until I get a bill for $1500+. After going the rounds with them over it and them making claims that my insurance sent it back as "out of network" I decided to call my insurance. It turns out they are trying to bill me for the difference in the discount that my insurance has a contract with them for. They are not legally allowed to bill me that discount. Yet here we are. 4 months later and they are still sending me bills. My insurance company has talked with them twice now on this so I am not holding my breath.

Do yourself a favor and go to Mountain View Hospital for anything and everything you can. If you have to use EIRMC, pay very, VERY close attention to you bills and compare them with the EOB from your insurance. Makes me wonder how many other people they have tried to rip off this way, or have ripped off.

THERE ARE 2 AMA ZING NURSES THAT DESERVE THE NURSE OF THE YEAR AWARD. tAMARA ON THE FOURTH FLOOR AND ALSO jAYNE ON THE 4TH FLOOR. THESE NURSES DESERVR THE NURSE OF THE YEAR AWARD. SIMPLY AMAZING TRUE NURSES THAT CERTAINLY KNEW THAT PART OF RECOVERY MEANT PAIN MANAGEMENT. THEY KNEW WITHIN A 1/2 HOUR OF NEEDING MY PAIN MEDS THAT MY BLOOD PRESSURE SPIKED AND MY HEART RATE SPIKED AMONG OTHER VITAKS THAT WERE SUFFERING. THESE SPECIAL NURSES KNEW IT AND WERE ON TOP OF IT. THEY WERE IN COMMUNICATION WITH THE DOCS AND AS SOON AS THEY WERE ALLOWED THEY WERE IN MY ROOM GIVING ME THE RELIEF I NEEDED ASAP. . UNLIKE THE OTHER NURSE LINDSAY THAT WOULD NOT EVEN TALK TO THE DOC ABOUT MY P[AIN NEEDS. HER ANSWER WAS CANT HAVE THEM FOR 6 HOURS AND NOTHING YOU CAN DO ABOUT IT. I WAS TRANSFERRED FROM BINGHAN WITH A PAIN PUMP WHERE I COULD CONTROL MY OWN PAIN TO BEIN TOLD EVERY 6 HOURS. VERY UNCOMPASSIONATE NURSE THAT HAS NO REASON TO BE A NURSE WITH ABSOLUTELY NO COMPASSION. EVEN WENT THROUGH MY PURSE WHICH IS AGAINST THE LAW TO SEE IF I HAD ANY MEDS IN THERE. DID YOU KNOW YOU ARE NOT EVEN ALLOWED TO HAVE ASAPAREIN IN YOUR PURSE? SHE SAID IT IS EVERY HOSPITALS POLICY YET I COULD NOT FIND THE POLICY ANYWHERE ON THEIR WEBSITE. EVEN HAD HEAD NURSE AND SECURITY COME UP AND GO THROUGH MY PURSE. TOTALLY AGAINST THE LAW. THEN MY SON WHO WAS FURIOUS ASKED THE MAIN HOSPITAL MAN TO CALL US BACK AND NOTHING. NOT ONE RETURNED CALL. DONT EVEN GET ME STARTED THAT IT TOOK THEM 3 1/2 HOURS TO GET PAIN MEDS INTO ME AFTER A MAJOR SURGERYTHE 3 STARS BELONG TO TAMRYA AND JAYNE. HAVE EVEN BEEN BACK TO EMERGENCY ROOM SINCE AND THEY ARE OBVIOUSLY READY TO KICK ME OUT THE DOOR AS FAST AS THEY CAN BECAUSE I AM UNINSURED. MY DAUGHTER ARGUED WITH THEM THAT SOMETHING IS STILL WRONG TO NO AVAIL. WE WILL TRY ONE MORE TIME AND IF STILL TREATED SAME WAY WE WILL MOVE ON TO DIFFERENT HOSPITAL TIL WE GET ANSWERS TO WHY I AM THROWING UP BLOOD AND STOOL IS BLACK AMONG OTHER THINGS

Eirmc is a joke. I wouldn't trust them with my LI...

Eirmc is a joke. I wouldn't trust them with my LIFE! According to EIRMC's website, "stroke is a medical emergency requiring immediate medical attention - time lost is brain lost." Well on June 16, 2016 my father in law was rushed to EIRMCby ambulance. The paramedics recognized signs of stroke or a brain bleed. But EIRMC misdiagnosed my father in laws STROKE as a SINUS INFECTION! That's right, a SINUS INFECTION! He was sent home with nothing but sinus infection medication. The next day when his condition did not improve, he was rushed by ambulance to another hospital (Madison) where they correctly diagnosed him with a stroke. Now he may have permanent damage due to the "time lost". To add insult to injury he received today a $4,000 bill from EIRMC! This doesn't include the ambulance ride, this is all for their so called services in the Emergency Room. Keep in mind, this is after my in laws have spoken to EIRMC and they know full well he was misdiagnosed and received no real treatment. So not only does EIRMC have lousy doctors and staff, but they also have NO INTEGRITY!

I went in to the E R for breathing issues and minor pain associated with a fall. In the past, I have been dx. With "sympathetic pain". I just relocated to Idaho from Montana and this establishment was a last ditch hope for help. The doctor, who wasnt actually a doctor, was not compassionate, prescribed something for anxiety, and did not listen. His affect was flat and body language was condescending. I felt oppressed and marginalized as he was rushed and unconcerned about my fears. I believe the "doctor" thought I was med seeking and perhaps even profiled me due to piercings and tattoos I have. When the CM contacted me with info regarding surrounding medical services, he submitted, via email, an incomplete and inaccurate list of medical professionals in this area whom could assist me with my current issues. None of the resources were affordable for a single parent, just starting new employment, with no health insurance. Mind you, I am a mental health professional providing quality services in this community, at a reputable establishment. I don't get insurance for 3 months and am not eligible for state benefits. I rated my experience with 2 stars only because the gentleman who came to talk about the financial piece was compassionate, professional and demonstrated active listening. I am currently in an extraordinary amount of pain as I had to return to the ER for major pain to receive a shot of steroid shortly after. Although the doctor, who was actually a doctor this time, was detatched and probably thought I was med seeking (malingering) for the same reasons (profiling based upon appearance), which I was afraid to ask for anything other than steroid anyways. I would strongly recommend that if you are truly suffering, as a result of pain, go somewhere else! You will leave this place feeling marginalized, oppressed, valuless, and alone. Good luck!

I delivered my first baby there. I was so nervous about a hospital delivery. My concerns were:
1. My worries, concerns, desires would not he heard nor understood. I was worried I'd have a ton of nurses in and out just there to get their job done and collect a paycheck. I was worried they'd be bogged down with hospital procedures that they wouldn't listen to my concerns.
2. Having my modesty and dignity compromised.
Let me tell you - I was so surprised. Everyone was kind, respectful, encouraging, helpful, and happy. Everyone felt so personable. I felt at ease around everyone who assisted me. I honestly was blown away by the love and care I received at this hospital. The nurses truly care about their jobs and their patients. I loved my experience there and if / when kind #2 comes, you bet we are going to EIRMC!

Cari is a fabulous mammogram technician, she really knows what she is doing, and though this procedure is never "fun", she makes it as comfortable as possible. I drove over from Jackson Hole, and was quite impressed, since in JH they were backlogged till end of January. Honestly, I'll probably do my next mammogram at EIRMC Women's Imagaing next year too.

My husband had a seizure on sunday night, monday a...

My husband had a seizure on sunday night, monday at work he was unable to read anything, his vision was blurry, his entire left side was numb. He came home and was unable to move off the couch the majority of the day, later that night he had another seizure that caused him to fall off the bed and hit his head on the side table so we went in.
we were there from 10:45pm till 3:50am the nurses all seemed mocking and disbelieving that my husband had seizures ( he was diagnosed with epilepsy 4 years ago), we saw the doctor twice, every time he asked my husband to explain he would cut him off very rudely and tell him he didnt care about all the details he wanted a simple answer even though the full answer was necessary. he then came in again to give him two medications that are extremely addictive, can cause seizures when no longer taken, and can cause anger.
my husband could no longer walk, he couldnt even sit up without falling over. he hit his head multiple times, just from trying to get to the bathroom he would fall and hurt himself. he fell down stairs, he lost his depth perception and burnt his hair to the scalp while trying to smoke, and got angry. As soon as the pills wore off he didnt remember anything, and when i told him how angry he had been he poured them down the sink. The next day he suffered from withdrawals from the pills, he kept blacking out, fainting, and had cold chills.
we went back two days later when our primary doctor called and said they were worried he may have had a mini stroke and that from all the head injuries they thought he would have a concussion, and wanted him to go get a CT scan and EKG.
We went in, the nurses were rude and cut him off told him they didnt care his doc sent him in for a CT scan, they wanted him to tell them a symptom to put down, when he began naming symptoms he was cut off again said she didnt need a list and to pick one.
we get back to the room and the nurses came in and asked what was going on, I began explaining because my husband was having a hard time talking and concentrating. The nurses began talking to each other over me, and didnt acknowledge anything I said, then just walked out. we saw them twice in the first 20 minutes, once to be ignored, and again to put the blood pressure sleeve on my husband. Another person came and took my husband to the CT scan right after then we spent the next hour and forty five minutes waiting for anyone to come by.
The doctor finally came in, told my husband your brain isnt bleeding. my husband asked about if he had a concussion the doctor proceeded to talk to him like he was an idiot telling him "a concussion is a bump on the head, it makes you dizzy, it makes you confused, so yea you probably have a concussion, my solution, stop hitting your head." he then walked out.
The nurse came in to discharge us and began going through the whole spiel about if your seizure is more than one, lasts longer than 10 minutes or you are confused after come back in.
That is every seizure my husband has had in the past 2 years, and he told her so. she responded with "Really(in a very rude tone) then I guess ill be seeing you a lot, and walked out.
they treated us like we were idiots who dont know what a seizure is, like we were lying about the seizures, and NO ONE TALKS TO EACH OTHER!!!!! nurses and doc would come in and have no cue why we were in or have the completely wrong idea of why, they actually thought we came in for a headache at one point!
The main office staff seemed very nice, but as soon as you hit the ER you will be treated like an idiot who just wants pills.

If you want to push your call button 5-6 times and finally have a nurse come in and reply with what this is the place for you. If you want the doctors to not believe your pain this place is also for you. Nurses sit around and gossip and not do their jobs. If I could give them 0 or negative stars I would.

Recently I have been put thru the wringer and it was not great but I spent about 2 weeks in EIRMC and had 4 surgeries here and they took the best care of me. The best hospital and the staff that dealt with me were awesome.
I live about an hour from this hospital but if I ever have to go to the ER again (let's hope not for a long time) I will drive that long just to go to this hospital because they took the best care of me.

My little brother is total care disabled due to cerebral palsy and a few other disorders. We came in because he had multiple grand mal siezures and was non-responsive. The emergency room responded well until they transfered him to a floor. My mom was with him to help him communicate and they would not listen to her. They lost his medication, and when we got it back half of it was missing. My mom had to beg them to bring him food (formula) he could eat and then they did not help him with feedings. They would not bring him diapers and let him sit in poop all night. They did not help my mom fix this and she had to throw a fit to get a towel and some soap to sponge bathe him. Last, they did not check on him once and left an iv line in with no iv which popped his vein. They never even flushed the line to keep the iv line from clotting. They let him go 12 hours without any food or nutrition. My brother is not high maintenance. Those are all basic services that they charged us for even though they didn't do it. Never go to EIRMC if you can help it. Mountain View is much better and they actually care.

In the past when my mother Shirley Anderson, has to go the to EIRMC her care was much better. Although it would take a long agonizing 5 hours minimum to get an evaluation. She is 91 years old. You d think it was a matter of routine to do a UA and blood work. That was not done on her visit on May 11th. Because she has lung issues she was prescribed medication to try to assure her that whatever was going on would be prevented from going into pneumonia. We were never informed of what she had. I figured it was probably viral. Which could be dangerous for her. The following day and into Monday she grew worse. So I thought possibly she may have a UTI. I took a specimen into her doctor and found out, indeed she had a UTI. She has had a tough time getting over it. Had it been diagnosed if the proper evaluations and tests been done, this 91 year old lady may have been spared such discomfort. How would you have liked it to be your mother? So, yes, we were very dissatisfied.

Took my grandma this morning to get a surgery done. I got a call later that morning saying her surgery went well and she will be ready to be picked up in about 30 minutes. I waited in the waiting room for nearly 4 hours. No one called to let me know what was going on. Tried calling some numbers provided on a paper in the waiting area they wouldn t work. Asked a nurse if I could get some information and she said she would get back to me and didn t. I finally called my grandma who just got out of surgery and she answered and explained somethings were wrong. The guy who checked me in This morning called my grandmas room to tell them I was waiting for her and where to wait. They knew I was there waiting for her and no one would help me. When the nurse wheeled my grandmother out to my car she implied that my grandma wasn t competent to understand what was going on even though my grandma explained everything in detail of what just happened. I will never go to EIRMC again due to their rudeness and lack of diligence.

It was only average. They were nice enough, but they're slow. I would ring for the nurse and it would be several minutes before they would answer. The vital monitor would beep during the night because my oxygen levels would drop when I tried to sleep. It was a long miserable night. I told the night nurse about it and he blew me off. It wasn't till 4:00 in the morning when he finally put into standby. I thought I might get a couple hours of sleep. No. At 5:00 a nurse came in to draw blood. She couldn't take it out of the IV like other hospitals. No. She had to stab me. Needless to say I did not have a pleasant experience.

Not good. We haven't been able to get my husband's physical records as we are from out of state and wanted to give his EIRMC records to his in state physician. He was discharged 10 days ago with little or no paper work at all. I have been trying (still trying to get his records) released and they will not release them without a release form signed. How can I sign a release form when I am no longer in Idaho. Patient should have signed the release form upon discharge. I specifically asked for the actual files and was told he would have them upon discharge. Not so. There patient portal on line is a joke!! None of his records can be accessed and under the tabs everything is listed a unknown. No case worker or help has come forward. Very disappointed in EIRMC as I used to work there and was a proud employee. No longer happy or proud to have been admitted there.

This emergency room is a JOKE! Not every patient who walks through the door is a drug seeker. I came in with severe abdominal pain and it was over an hour before I got anything to ease the pain. The nurse was rude and outright accused me of faking my ovarian cysts for pain meds. I wasn't checked on at all. Good thing my life wasn't in danger. This hospital needs to treat all patients with some respect and not judge. If I could give it a 0 I would and the sucky part it's really the only hospital around

My best experience yet. Quickly and efficiently, I was diagnosed, treated and on my way. I can say that the nurses, physicians, & P.A.s took excellent care of me. I also had the pleasure to receive a check up call from the head of nursing, 2 days later. They let me know I was prescribed the best meds for my infection, and I'm well on my way to a full recovery! GREAT Job EIRMC !

I went to EIRMC for an outpatient tonsillectomy. I was checked in using an iPad by some polite young admins. EIRMC staff had called a few days previously to let me know my check-in time and take some of my medical history. However, at no time had the topic of hospital fees been discussed and so it was a huge sticker shock when I saw what the hospital would be charging for a relatively short procedure, even after my deductible and coinsurance had kicked in. I asked for a line item breakdown of the charges but the admin said she didn t have it. The hospital billing dept needs to be upfront and transparent about the cost days or weeks in advance instead of minutes beforehand. It definitely added a lot of stress and anxiety before an already stressful operation.

Nevertheless, the nurses, techs, and doctors were friendly and professional. Overall I would recommend the hospital to others as long as they ask plenty of questions about the fee structure before hand.

Extremely disappointed at the lack of fundamental care. I was a patient for 4 days. My gown was changed once. I was left to lay in urine and surgical discharge. I got one bed bath. I was put on oxygen with no humidifier. This gave me a serious sinus infection I am still dealing with. Day time wasn't bad but nights were the worst. If I needed assistance getting to the bathroom it would take 15-20 minutes for someone to respond. Sometimes they didn't disconnect the call line and would ask 3 more times what I needed. There was too much "giggling" going to think they were busy.

Very caring and personable staff!!! Our grandfather had been life-flighted in from a small town, and the moment we walked into the hospital (we drove) we were met with volunteers who were expecting us, and helped show us how to get to his room. He passed away, and the nurses and doctor were incredibly sensitive to our needs, and exercised extreme professionalism during an otherwise difficult time.

The nurses who took care of my mom were awesome. They are a five star. The director of the ICU told me that we would be included in end if life discussions and she didn't even call to let us know my mom's spouse was there ready to pull life support. We were told we'd be part of the conversation and we weren't. Be careful. They'll tell you what you want to hear but they did not keep their word. I'm very disappointed with eirmc. They need to keep their word even in these difficult times with visitor restrictions.

My husband and I both had exploratory colonoscopies this morning. Admissions personnel, nurses, and the doctors provided caring and highly professional services. We had a room together, plenty of warm blankets, and nurses that were able to take time enough to make us feel cared for. The anesthesiologists were very kind and the surgeon, Dr. Olaveson, stopped in after the procedures to give us an update on what he found. This is not standard practice in other hospitals. All in all a very "pleasant" experience. I am awaiting with interest the invoices for today's services to see how they compare with other Idaho facilities.

It wasn t busy the night I went in. I went right into a room and had a great nurse who was very kind and attentive. I was there for about 3.5 hours, which unfortunately is an average visit to the ER. The ultrasound technician that was on call was also nice and kind. The doctor listened... wasn t chatty or explained much, but he attended to the immediate concern and told me to follow up with my regular doc with a few suggestions on what to talk to her about. Overall, not too bad of an experience.

My grandma spent over three weeks at EIRMC and received phenomenal care! She spent time in Cardiology, Imaging, ICU, 4th floor, 5th floor, and had speech, respiratory, and physical therapy work with her. Not only is the staff at EIRMC at the top of their game clinically they were so compassionate and kind we were blown away! Idaho Falls is fortunate to have a facility of EIRMC's caliber right here at home. My family is especially grateful for the amazing staff on 5th floor who cared for her while she was on Hospice. The kindness and care they provided her as well as our entire family was amazing. The staff in the cafeteria also went above and beyond in providing that extra care at a very difficult time for my family. We will forever be grateful to EIRMC, the staff, and the physicians. Thank You!

Medical care was fine and the nurses (Elie, Natali, Abbey and others) were very helpful, as was Dr. Wacter. Indeed she was wonderful; patient and attentive.

I was not impressed with having to listen to Metallica in the operating room. The operation was stressful enough without the levity and banter between the nurses. Hopefully, my surgery went well. The surgeon seemed to think so and I'm feeling well since I got home.

Although I did not come to the hospital for the meals, your food service is erratic--I seldom received what I ordered and the quality of the food needs attention. And that is being charitable.

Your TV service is terrible. Either you cable is poor or your equipment is so dated a decent picture is impossible.

Some of this may sound petty, but when you are sick and in bed, you generally spend a lot of time watching TV and waiting...Meals are important not just for nutrition, but also to break up the monotony of the day.

Finally, while I know I was in the cardiac unit and not the general population, I discovered when I got home I had a very large bedsore on my left hind leg, which I could not see in bed or in the shower, which I took twice. I have had to have the sore attended to in Jackson at St. John's Hospital.

Eirmc Emergency seems to not care for their patients. My niece went many times for her to just be sent back home. She was seriously ill and always was told she was okay or it was just a simple ear infection. She had to be sent to primary childrens hospital where they are actually taking care of her and actually care to get her better.

I took my 4 year old in for fluids due to a tonsillectomy. He wasn't drinking. Our nurse rhett was so kind. He talked us through everything. He even called the next day to check up on my son to make sure he was doing ok. Eirmcs ER are quick to get you back and they listen to your concerns. I'll drive here over other hospitals every time.

They claim easy billing yet they are the absolute worst billing set up. Expect to get 12 separate bills from 12 different agencies for your single visit. I recommend going over your billing with a fine tooth comb! And be prepared to be sent to collections because one of those 12 bills somehow didn t get sent out . My experience: Yesterday we got a call from a debit collector about a debt, we were under the impression that we had already paid off. My wife has been hospitalized three times this past year, we went in on Dec 6th to EIRMC billing department and told them we wanted to pay them in full. But then yesterday we got the call saying we were sent to collections. We had received bills that stated they were from Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center and others from Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center - Behavior Health. We figured they were both from the hospital and was all paid off when we went in on December. Turns out the latter bill from the behavioral health is actually a group of doctors who work for EIRMC and bill separately. How we we supposed to know? When we looked over the recipe it showed billing for those doctors as paid. We didn t know that the hospital charges you to see the doctor as a facility charge and the doctor charges a separate fee. And why are the doctors billing under EIRMC s name without it going through EIRMC s billing department. What a joke of a billing system!!! It s set up to make you fail. If they want to claim easy billing then it should all be included in one bill.
