My experience at East West Wellness has been pheno...

My experience at East West Wellness has been phenomenal!

I originally started with their nutritionist/dietician Donna Sigmond to help with weight loss. I have now lost over 50lbs! Donna is excellent at not just helping you lose weight, but in keeping it off. She is also very talented in expressing very technical things or terms in a way that anyone could understand and she makes sure that you understand what she is saying before moving on to the next topic. Donna is also the acupuncturist at East West Wellness (I always joke she is a Jack-of-all-trades). She helped me kick a cold to the curb in one session! I have had acupuncture in China many times, and comparatively her skills with a needle are remarkable. There was NO PAIN! The calming aura of the room and heated treatment table put me to sleep every time. I feel like I came from a day spa, not an acupuncturist.

I have also had massage from both Agatha and Jason, and both were amazing. Knots and aches fade away quickly under their soothing ministrations. The atmosphere is very relaxing and both therapists have a relaxing aura.

I am also a huge fan of the in-house Infrared Sauna. It is an easy way to relax before a massage or to warm up during the cold days. It can help detox your body, boost your immune system, help with pain management and it burns up to 600 calories in an hour! I can hook up my phone to the speaker system to customize my music, read a book, meditate or take a quick nap! I look forward to my bi-weekly sauna session!

I have recommended this establishment and its practitioners many of my friends and family.

I just can't say enough good things about East-Wes...

I just can't say enough good things about East-West Wellness. Every time I walk in there I immediately feel at peace and know that my experience will be beneficial whether I am getting acupuncture, a massage or using their infrared sauna. I have had a number of unusual heath concerns Western medicine could not diagnose. It seemed a RX was the only answer which is not a cure but their way to mask a symptom, so when I learned about East-West Wellness and the practitioner there, Donna Sigmond, I was anxious to learn more. She does a detailed health history intake form which gives her a basis along with my symptoms and a thorough consultation. She explained so much to me about the body, the systems and how diet, nutrients, environment, genetics etc can determine so much of what happens to us and our bodies and therefore, so many of the symptoms it manifests. She suggested some simple testing be done to give her more information and guidelines for her diagnosis. Within a few weeks in clear written language, I found out I was gluten intolerant along with some low levels of necessary vitamins and minerals. Wow, how easy was that! Of course, now everything made sense as I learned all the symptoms I have experienced all these years was due to gluten and more recent symptoms, to lack of a few essential vitamins and minerals. I have been so blessed to find Donna and her amazing knowledge about the body, how it works and all the intricacies within us. Everything I have learned from her is fascinating and makes so much sense to me I can't imagine why more people don't seek out this approach to health care. I suggest to all of you out there that haven't found answers, relief from your symptoms and especially to everyone who has given up-please don't. There is a local practitioner who can truly change your life, your health and your mind set. It won't happen over night and you will likely have to make some changes but it is all so worth it. She has changed my son's life, as he has lived with diabetes for 8 years now, but only successfully since he has followed her recommendations along with a number of friends who believe in her as I do.
I have one further comment about posting reviews. I had posted one for East West Wellness on Yelp a while back only to recently learn that it isn't there so I chose to re-post a review on Google because I wanted my voice to be heard.

I have been working with Donna Sigmond at East-Wes...

I have been working with Donna Sigmond at East-West Wellness for the past two years to treat an autoimmune disease. Donna and her team have been great to work with. Donna integrates her expertise with acupuncture and Chinese medicine with Functional Medicine and the LEAP food sensitivity program. My diet has been completely transformed and augmented with micronutrient support. The dietary changes, regular acupuncture treatments and consulting have helped me move to a much more stable state with more energy and almost none of my previous symptoms. I appreciate how Donna understands and compliments the traditional Western medicine treatments I have received. Donna has been helping me to reduce my reliance on pharmaceuticals. Donna's deep understanding of autoimmune ailments and her consistent compassionate care and attention have made all the difference in my journey to understand and address my disease.

I had GERD,gastritis,IBS, stage 2 kidney disease, mild adrenal fatigue, was on disability and could barely function throughout the day. Went to over 10 practitioners and I will say Donna was the only doctor that I really trusted. She had my best interest in mind and was there via email and was very responsive in between our sessions to help guide me throughout the process of helping me heal and recover from myriad of symptoms I was experiencing. She listened openly and came from a place of understanding but was also strong in her coaching abilities and direction to assist in bringing me back into wellness.

She reviewed the gamut of testing from other practitioners and utilized what we already knew to assist in developing a case plan to regain health .Following the functional medicine approach and micronutrients as well as organic acids testing I repleted many nutrient deficiencies that could only be discovered with specialized testing and felt such a difference!! Most importantly I regained my energy, mood, and MYSELF to live again and that I am forever grateful for.

Thank you EWW!!!

I saw Donna, East West Wellness' owner who is a registered dietitian and acupuncturist, for over a year. I was having severe pain which alleviated primarily using Chinese herbs she prescribed me. She recommended changing my diet. After I began this new regiment, my pain started to dissipate. I no longer needed to rely on the herbs for pain. In addition, my level of energy and concentration dramatically improved. Even my emotional health improved. It took some time to figure out what the problem was. I've always felt that something was just "wrong," but I couldn't explain it. There is still a lot more I can do to achieve more optimal health, but I am many steps closer.

I have also seen Agatha, one of the massage therapists. She is definitely one of the best I've been to. Lisa, the physical therapist has a unique and effective approach to her work, and I left with several exercises she provided me with. I was having some shortness of breath where I felt as though I couldn't take enough air in. It turns out that was indeed the case, and Lisa showed me that my rib cage was asymmetrical, and in fact, one side was limiting the amount of air I could take into my left lung. I now use one of her exercises frequently when the sensation returns. I saw a doctor about this issue, and unfortunately I didn't get any resolution. It wasn't until several years later that I saw Lisa, who was the first person to help me with the problem. Bonus: She is also very patient and willing to spend extra time with you, if necessary, at no additional charge.

In addition, the infrared sauna is incredibly relaxing and the only one I know of that is publicly available in the area, and you do not need a membership to use it. Just be sure to bring your own towels because there is a fee towel fee otherwise.

I was having some stomach issues and sleeping problems during my recent stay in Boulder. A close friend recommended coming in for an acupuncture session. The East West Wellness center is absolutely beautiful. I loved the infrared sauna and the crystal embedded heating pad in the treatment room. The acupuncture session was virtually painless and extremely comforting. I definitely started sleeping better after the session and my stomach issues began lessening. Donna is super nice and really knows her material from the western scientific perspective and from the traditional eastern view. I'm excited to come back for another session in the future! I'd recommend checking out the awesome massage oil candles as well. Thank You East West Wellness!

I had shingles and had no idea what to do. My doct...

I had shingles and had no idea what to do. My doctor had given me anti viral medicine, which I was highly skeptical about. I started taking Red Marine Algae and began acupuncture after finding, Donna. She proceeded to prescribe me certain Chinese Herbs and some dietary changes. FOUR DAYS later all my pain subsided. This woman is a genius. She incorporates all aspects of healing whether it's a western practice or eastern practice, or combined, her way of curing people is how medical practices should work. If you have a dietary issues, go to her; if you have an issue with your back, go to her; if you have ulcers in you mouth go to her! Seriously, I've met some of her patients and have heard some amazing stories. The front desk people there are awesome, too!

The message therapy offered there is flawless. Whether it's deep tissue, aromatherapy, reflexology, or sports massage they do it all, and really well at that!

They're exactly what a holistic medical center should be. Anytime I need advice on food labeling or supplements or any local activity happening in Louisville, I go to Donna. Check them OUT!

I have a newborn who is 7 weeks old, and when I was pregnant I started to itch A LOT, everynight I had to have my husband just scratch my back for at least 10 minutes, I also had a little rash on my stomach which I had for awhile, before I got pregnant. I started helping Donna with your marketing 2 years ago, so when this started to happen to me I asked her what it could be, it was driving me and my husband crazy. Donna said most likely it was food allergies, I told her I am not allergic to anything. Donna said you may not think you are, she had me do a blood test to see what foods i was sensitive to. Sure enough it came back that I was in high red for cow's milk something I drank EVERYDAY! I stopped drinking cow's milk and changed my diet and had an amazing pregnancy and now we are watching for signs in the baby. I am SO thankful Donna at East West Wellness was there to help me out, my doctor just told me it was dry skin! Thank you Donna!
