DUVAL COUNTY HEALTH DEPARTMENT- Jacksonville Pre-Trial Detention Facility/Duval County Jail Reviews

Unfortunately, i spent quite a few hours in this facility trying to purge an inmate out yesterday. During this very stressful time and emotional time, every C.O. I encountered was professional, compassionate, and respectful. I never expected to be treated with such kindness. I was thoroughly impressed with the officers. From the C.O. at the information desk to the collections officers. I can't say I ever want to see them again, lol, but if i do I am sure they will still be as kind as they were yesterday. Thank you JSO for not living up to the negative hype which surrounds this facility. (Thank you to whoever was on duty 9/4 early AM-afternoon)

The view from the rooms was terrible for a high-rise. Will not be visiting again... (hopefully)

Crowded, Loud and stiff beds......Also the in house spa was overcrowded and I would also remind you...this is not a place you want to drop the soap.

And what is the purpose of the phone number. This facility does not answer phone, I don't even recall getting an answering machine. I can't even simply get information about my elderly dad. Sad case of help

Check-in process is horrendous, check-out is even more horrendous, no bellmen, no mints on pillow, no turn-down service, the food sucks, it's noisy, the tenants are always in a bad mood. I do not recommend staying here.

Truly appallingly run organization on the outside / bail side. It's worse than a Walmart returns desk after Christmas. Actually that's an insult to the Walmart returns desk. Officers on duty clearly could not care less. Sad bunch.

Roomy cells. Cheap rates better than any Air B&B. Open 24 hours a day. Corrections Officers are great people. Fingerprinting and photography are extra. They accept both kinds of people here misdemeanors and felons. Great riverfront view. Located near the historic Maxwell Coffee plant . Can hear the roar of the crowds as the Jags get beat from your cell.

Best place to go if you've committed a crime, will receive 3 meals a day and a nice clean green or grey uniform. The Officers will treat you with respect as long as you stay in your lane as an inmate and the medical staff is really nice too. I enjoy coming to this jail at least once a year.

Visited to see what all the talk was about.... no vegan options and 99% of employees had very poor attitudes, will not be returning.
