This is a great deal if you don't mind eating with some poor people, (and a few of us wealthy people who just like a deal.) $1.50 for dinner, or some of the other soup kitchens will give you a free ticket for a free meal.

It's an excellent place for the most vulnerable members of Durham Region to get a four-course meal for $1.50 or for free. The patrons of the soup kitchen are treated with respect in a clean environment.

Very warming experience. Meals are only a $1.50 and its usually fully loaded with meat, potatoes, vegetables, salad, and soup of course. Many people go there to get a good delicious meal. Bread shelf makes it easy for the poor and needy to get bread and treats. Usually they have free stuff for you to take home. The staff of volunteers are excellent so we all must not forget what patience is when we go there. After all the volunteers are people too.

The place is welcoming, clean, and great for the community. It's awesome what they do and hope they can continue doing it. I volunteered here with a couple of friends and it was an amazing experience. We met amazing people (except for one crazy guy) and I hope I can volunteer again.

Durham Outlook for the Needy is a non-profit organization that was established in July 1990 by a group of dedicated Oshawa residents. The organization's primary objective is to help those in need in the Durham Region. They chose St. Vincent Pallotti as their patron and example, who devoted his life to helping the poor and underprivileged.

The organization has been able to provide nutritious daily meals in a dignified manner through its team of over 900 volunteers each month from churches, numerous organizations, and individuals. The volunteers are passionate about serving their community and making a difference in people's lives.

The organization provides various services such as hot meals, food bank programs, clothing drives, Christmas hampers, school supplies programs, and more. These services are designed to meet the basic needs of individuals who are struggling financially or facing other challenges.

One of Durham Outlook for the Needy's most significant achievements is its hot meal program. The program serves over 1000 meals every week at four different locations throughout Oshawa. The meals are prepared fresh daily by volunteer chefs using locally sourced ingredients whenever possible.

In addition to providing nutritious meals, Durham Outlook for the Needy also offers support services such as counseling referrals and job search assistance through partnerships with local organizations.

The organization relies heavily on donations from individuals and businesses within the community to fund its operations. Every dollar donated goes directly towards supporting those in need within Durham Region.
