Dundee Rep Theatre Reviews

Thoroughly enjoyed performance of Message Received. The actors were excellent. Perhaps mics would help. Some voices were low and it was difficult to hear some of the children. Altogether very good. Well done!!

Great theatre offering a wide range of different types of productions from plays, dance and music. There is a bar and restaurant and the staff are always very friendly and helpful. There is a lift up to the auditorium. Parking is available on the side streets and nearby car parks.

Show was very good, however queue for drinks too long waited 25 minutes only 2 ladies on. The main door to the theatre should be opened at.least 20 mins before start of show again this was frustrating wait I g in a crowded foyer

Love the our willie play was really good and a laugh hopfully there more to come

Terrific small theatre that has had some really good shows. Only reason I don't give 5stars......not the most comfy seats.....wee bit cramped and I am not the tallest of people !

The Rep is a great cultural icon for Dundee. It attracts extremely high quality productions and offers a great all round experience for young and old. The Creative Learning part of the Rep is also a real selling point for this theatre as it has incredibly good links with local educational establishments such as the University of Dundee.

Oor Wullie was an absolute brilliant play.

As someone who got an Oor Wullie or The Broons annual for Christmas, the Actors/Actresses had the characters down to a T.

I forgot just how much effort the casts put into these shows, I think the last time me and my daughter went to a show at the rep was either Hairy McClary and Friends or Charlie and Lola. Which is probably around 4-5 years ago.

I certainly will look to get back in 2020.

Taking in these shows - The hard work and skill by the cast is brilliant. The applause by the audience shows how much it is appreciated, and certainly, The show I was at - I thought the roof might come off The Dundee Rep. the performance was well received.

Well done to everyone involved in the Oor Wullie Production, and to the Dundee Rep for the good facilities and organisation of these events.

A very nice theatre. I love the setup of the auditorium and stage, quite different from what I would class as normal. The staff were first class and very accommodating.

Usually have a fab time - the performances are well designed, the cast are amazing and the sets are extremely well designed. Highly recommend a visit here

A brilliant theatre, bar and restaurant. A great range of classes for all ages, really good food and atmosphere, and a great selection of shows both drama and dance. Highly recommended! Staff are lovely and really helpful.

If you don't come from a theatre back ground you'll know what I mean although the staff were friendly

The staff are friendly and welcoming.

The Rep is theatre itself has an intimate auditorium with comfortable seats and a cosy environment. You can hear a whisper from the back row or feel power in a roar.

On arrival after picking up tickets we were directed upstairs. There is very limited waiting space. Hardly more than a few tables to catch a coffee or food before the show starts. Come early and you will be rewarded with great food and nice coffee. Come late and it's queue central with standing room only.

Thanks to limited space, the toilets are only one cubicle in the gents and a "Stand up lavatory" big enough for two. The ladies I am told have limited cubicles. When you consider the footfall through here those of you with the bladder size of a peanut (like myself) planning is important.

Sorry I didn't see disabled toilet facilities but they were no doubt at ground floor access for ease of use.

I understand that the Rep's immediate future involves improvements in toilet facilities.

I was lucky to see Sir Ian McKellen on his recent tour. The acoustics are fantastic. The people behind the Rep have a happy family feel. I loved it.
The Rep is a great asset and I will be back.

Have just watched Yellow on the Broom and it was an absolutely fantastic production. Have read the book and they just brought it to life for me. Well done to all the cast

There are only 5 ladies toilets in this theatre which is not nearly enough when the theatre is full. The seats in the auditorium are extremely uncomfortable with very little space between them. For the prices charged for tickets I feel the facilities could be much better.

We had our work Christmas night out here, a pre theatre meal which was delicious and the service was very good. The show we saw was Oor Wullie and was lots of family friendly fun. I would recommend the restaurant and the show.

Lovely theatre. Great staff and very helpful. They way the stage is laid out it feels like you are right in the middle of the action.

Lovely building offering a variety of great shows, plenty of workshops and other events. I held the launch night for my jewellery website here in the bar area (which is great for pre theatre drinks or a coffee) and had a wonderful evening, the staff were extremely friendly, helpful and accommodating.

They also have a great restaurant downstairs.

Amazing!! I've been there two times on the same performance Christmas Carol and I enjoyed each time...a magic and positive energy!!! If you are stingy or just focus on money too much, it is a good therapy:))) excellent actors

Got a ticket today and loved the show..brilliant acting in a lovely atmosphere.

Very nice venue, great facilities and on top of that the show they put on was brilliantly done.

Enjoy going to shows here, usually enjoyable and professional professional. Drinks from bar can be a little expensive though

Great shows , I like the rep ensemble shows which are as always very very well done. The actors and actresses are magnificent in all that they do in particular Annie Louise Ross . What talent this woman has . Words cannot describe . She can act any part and character Splendidly

I had a small beer in the cosy bar before the performance. The theatre wasnt too big and a good view of stage . I will definitely be back.

Rep Theatre is a lovely place. The company puts on very good plays across the spectrum . Tonight it was a Scottish text adapted for stage - 'The Yellow on the Broom' . Excellent!

Some great plays but the seats feel like they were specifically designed to be uncomfortable, if this was not their intention then they really needs a refurb!

We went to see A Christmas Carol and it was outstanding. The Dundee Rep might be a small theatre but it's productions are first rate and up there with any I've seen in London.
The restaurant is excellent and there is a great selection of drinks for mid-session interval.

Great place to take in the New Year and have a Ceilagh

Dundee Rep is an excellent theatre venue. Good all round comfortable seating with good views from most if not all seats. Current show is the Brand new Musical "Oor Wullie" and I would rate it 5 stars, it was absolutely Excellent.

Just been to see The Steamie, it was hilarious. Such good acting. Would highly recommend

Excellent shows,very nice auditorium, but disappointed with bar facilities.

A very nice Theatre and the Musical was fantastic. They may have been School Pupils, but they sang and danced like perfessionals. They made you feel as though you were on Broadway at the Theatre. We wish them all the luck in the world. Thank You again for a Great Night.
