Dubuque Arboretum and Botanical Gardens Review

The gardens are immaculate and always beautifully landscaped. Each June all of the rose bushes blossom and the scent of roses is carried throughout the park. The Arboretum has live music each Sunday in the summertime. It truly is a gift for Dubuque and it's visitors.

Beautiful, free, and absolutely enjoyable. I love this place.

Beautiful gardens and water features. Plenty of shade and seating for relaxing and reflecting. Nice gift shop and visitor center. Incredibly well kept by clearly dedicated volunteers. We loved it and will be back!

Such a beautiful place!! They are constantly adding new things and there are just so many beautiful spots!! My family loves it!

This is a fantastic place to relax and see the beauty of nature. There are multiple garden settings, from a traditional English garden to a Japanese garden with a koi pond, to a large rose garden. There's even a few storybook settings beautifully brought to life. If you want to take a stroll outdoors there few places locally that can compare to this.

Cannot beleive what a gem of an oasis this outdoor space creates for all ages. Great treasure, free admission, kid-stroller-wheelchair accessible. Excellent rest areas to sit while kids explore rock paths and lovely koi fish pond where they may feed fish from the bridge! A wealth of botany learning and what looked like a gift store (*might be closed d/t Covid). Do look for this tucked away experience, you will be plesantly surprised!

Just absolutely stunning! Cant believe this place was free to walk around. So beautiful.

It was small but beautiful. I rated it 3 stars because the woman working in the office was extremely rude to us.

You can feed the fish for a quarter or two, bring some pocket change (if you have any during this coin shortage)!

I had a nice visit to this arboretum. There is a good variety of flowers, bushes, trees, etc. to take a look at here.

There is a plant for everyone here and the free music is a real treat too!

Hidden treasure. This place is beautiful and offers some nice free entertainment in the summer. Great place to get away for a nice walk with the family. They have a play ground area too for the kids. The free entertainment in the summer is great! Make sure to get there early to secure a good seat, as the lawn area fills up fast. And it's a large area, which speaks to the quality of entertainment!

We always enjoy our time at the arboretum. Whether it is time for our kids to play at the park or time to walk around and enjoy the flowers and even feed the coi fish in the pond.

Beautiful gardens. We were their in early Spring, and we can't wait to go back to see how the flowers have bloomed. They have koi fish that you can feed. Very lovely.

It was really beautiful! We especially liked all of the little details, like the lizard statue and the park with activities for our 1 yr old grand daughter to play with!

If you enjoy plants, flowers, gardens (several), a lovely walk outdoors; you'll enjoy this area. Very nice little gift shop. I'd say it's a "Must See" if you're in Dubuque. The web site also lists the special events, such as live music on Sunday evenings.

A gem of a botanic garden! Considering the size of the surrounding population able to support it, I was expecting something smaller and simpler. But I was happily suprised by the depth and breadth of plants and designs presented. Definitely worth a few hours of your time if you're in the area.

It's nice during the autumnal season. I'm sure it's better during the summer.

A work in continual progress, it seemed to me, yet various textured pathways and open grounds mixed in for the more formal or adventurous botanical curiosity seeker. One should visit at different times to get the full effect.

Great place to visit and learn. Can not beleive that only 1.5 paid employees manage. Way to go colunteers and donors!!!

The Japanese garden was the best. A lot of plants and trees had tags but not all. That was my only disappointment

Great place to walk around and enjoy nature. The Japanese garden complete with koi pond is worth the drive.

I always enjoy coming here. The area they use is larger than you'd expect. They have many volunteers help maintain it and they have playground equipment in another area of the park for kids.

Good place to look at flowers and let the kids get exersie on the play ground and eat a lunch.

It has cute things for the kids and has beautiful flowers and landscaping! We enjoy going there!!

This is a beautiful place to go relax and enjoy nature. This may not be the biggest of parks or the most impressive, but it is very well kept and very relaxing. There are many different gardens including the world's largest privately owned hosta collection.

Very beautiful grounds with a lot to see. Make sure you have a few hours to explore everything.

This botanic garden is on the outskirts of town, and is a work in progress. There are distinct areas, including a Japanese garden with pond and waterfall, rose garden and hosta garden. There is limited signage to direct you from one area to another, and thus you just wander at will. There is a cafe and gift shop. Nice spot.

Beautiful park. Don't forget to bring quarters because you can feed the fish in the pond!

Beautiful Arboretum. So many different sections in the park and koi ponds. Love the two children's story books. Can't wait to go back when the roses are in a bloom.

Long Ago I visited twice. Beautiful place. Truly a spiritual experience. Saw a Beatles tribute band play there on a gently warm Summer evening. Perfect place for photos. A happy place

Went there today and the leaves changing along with the fall flowers colors was gorgeous. Lots of people taking engagement photos and children's photo shoots. The koi pond was stocked and abundant with well cared for fish.

Beautiful place, nestled in residential area. The puzzle garden is fun to visit and the Japanese garden is so serene and is bringing joy and the feeling of peacefulness.

Very pretty, customer service when buying seemed very confused and didn't know what they were doing, other than that, very very beautiful place!
