Dismayed by a recent visit. There are no zero waste options here. Enormous plastic bags of oats sat behind the till waiting to refill the 'zero waste' dispensers (tip: buy oats in any other store in paper bags and there is no plastic involved). Kitchen utensils on the shelves behind the tills individually wrapped in plastic - plastic that is the removed before placing in a basket for customers to buy. Disingenuous.

Most food comes from Ekoplaza, an eco supermarket in the Netherlands or far flung countries. The food airmiles here are high.

Far too much focus on food that is organic or good for your health, no focus on the planet.

I just love the market and the food .The atmosphere is great and chatting to the stall holders about their produce is really interesting. I always come away with a smile on my face . My daughters love it too.

Friendly staff and a positive atmosphere. All the fresh produce from the co-op is organic, fresh and delicious. It is my favorite store in the area for daily bread and old fashioned organic fresh milk that creams on the top, just as it should.

The Dublin food Co-op has a lot of fresh veggies and other foods like bread. There is a nice place that serves breakfast and the pancakes there are amazing served with syrup and strawberry sauce! Good place for good natural foods.

I mostly go here to buy August Natura Equa fair trade Italian coffee beans which are beyond awesome. They also sell a large selection of organic produce. There is a cafe, and occasionally there is live music. It is a co-op rather than a conventional business. Sadly, they will be moving premises in the next year or so; hopefully to somewhere I can get to.

Went into the food co-op because a friend recommended the french toast in the little cafe at the back. It was excellent, two large slices of bread with sides of jam and maple syrup. Absolutely delicious.

Good produce but found the female employee very rude and condescending for no reason. I know times are tough because of the virus but taking it out on someone trying to support local suppliers isn't on. There's always two sides to a story but on this occasion I really don't know what I did to deserve it. I only went in for some eggs.

Sought out this place today, about a twenty min drive with the kids in tow, but I wasn t disappointed. Really clean, staff very friendly without hovering over you. Reading other reviews I understand that people might say it s not cheap (why would anyone think good quality organic food would be cheap?) but I wouldn t say it s expensive. It s cheaper than many health food stores I ve been in lately. Love that I can bring my own jars and fill them. Love that they have a huge range of household cleaning alternatives to chemical supermarket produce. Love the fresh veg. What these people are providing is way above what most shops are providing with regards to high quality food and care for the environment. Reviews might nit-pick at the imperfections but it s not easy to start up a business in Ireland and keep it running and making any kind of profit. So WELL DONE for doing it. I will be back.

Excellent range and perfect for sports people , vegans, vegetarians, the environmentally conscious and others. Organic HQ. Helpful and friendly staff and atmosphere. Huge choice and great location. Excellent use of space for the size of the outlet compared to amount of available produce. Highly recommended .

Indoor organic market with lovely cafe' serving great coffee. The selection of vegetables is quiet limited and more expensive than other organic markets plus not much else to buy in terms of fresh food, apart from ready to eat food. But there is a health food store that stocks a large selection of packed products.

Great selection of healthy products, mostly organic and fairtrade. Some are locally produced. There are vegan and gluten-free options as well. Pricing is fair as it is run as a cooperative. Some products are available without packaging to reduce waste.

Maybe I misunderstood the purpose of a coop. I was expecting mostly local produce but from what I see the vast majority of both the fresh food outside and the stuff on the shelves inside came from outside Ireland. Even things like carrots, which grow plentiful in Ireland, came from somewhere else in Europe. Given the high prices I d rather spend my money supporting local producers.

Great community, great variety of products and great quality of food. If you are looking for organic or healthy and you have not been here you should drop by. If you are interested in becoming part of an alternative shopping community, once where you can get involved and help grow you should for sure call down. Great cafe with great food, lovely activities also.

Dublin Food Co-operative is a community-owned grocery store that has been serving the people of Dublin since 1983. The co-op was founded by a group of like-minded individuals who were passionate about organic, vegetarian and sustainable wholefoods. Today, the co-op continues to be run by its members who share a commitment to providing healthy food options for their families and communities.

The Dublin Food Co-operative is more than just a grocery store. It's a place where people can come together to learn about healthy eating, sustainable living and community building. The co-op offers workshops on topics such as cooking with wholefoods, composting and gardening. Members also have access to bulk buying options which help reduce waste and save money.

One of the unique features of the Dublin Food Co-operative is that anyone can become a member. Membership is open to all individuals regardless of their income or background. Members have voting rights at general meetings where they can help shape the direction of the co-op.

The co-op's commitment to sustainability extends beyond just offering organic produce. They strive to reduce waste by using eco-friendly packaging materials and encouraging customers to bring their own containers for bulk items. They also work with local farmers whenever possible in order to support local agriculture.

In addition to fresh produce, the Dublin Food Co-operative offers a wide range of products including dairy-free alternatives, gluten-free options, natural cleaning products and supplements. Their product selection reflects their commitment to providing healthy options for everyone in the community.

Shopping at Dublin Food Co-operative isn't just about buying groceries - it's about supporting your local community as well. By shopping at the co-op you are supporting small-scale farmers who use sustainable farming practices instead of large corporations that prioritize profit over sustainability.
