It's funny how the first reviews that are ALL 5 STARS are from EMPLOYEES..not residents. I am a resident been at this property for OVER ten years. Professionalism is a JOKE. Maintenance is a JOKE. But they want all payments on time. Had my air go out on a day of 88 degrees NO ONE CAME OUT. That was over two weeks ago. Now my fridge had died in the middle of a pandemic annnnnnnd once again...NO ONE. Yet they go up on rent EVERYTIME it's time to resign a lease. Come up with additional charges like for trash and sewer buuuuuuut yeah...its time for me to go. I DO NOT recommend them to ANYONE. Did that once before...let's just say that person barely made it a year here before they got out..smart cookie!

They managed the building I used to live at (Metro) but that doesn't appear to be the case anymore. Each manager they assigned to the building was just a new flavor of incompetent. Elevator certifications expired for almost a year, fire system control panels alarming almost continually for weeks, a rusty water heater that passed inspection then started leaking the next week, un-flushed 'presents' in my toiled after a maintenance inspection, losing my lease and repeatedly losing other documents, letting parking garage passes expire, giant dog hair tumbleweed in the hallway for months, etc. The ratings for the place were propped up by people that were using it as a hotel. Whenever the ratings for the building would get too low it would get removed from google maps then replaced with a slightly different title; example first it was Metro, then Metro on Granby. They even tried to change the terms of my lease as I was leaving. Avoid.

I have been working for Drucker + Falk for a little over two years now and it has been a great experience. You can truly tell that they care about their employees which I appreciate. I started off as an Assistant Manager and within a year was given the opportunity to transition to a Property Manager roll. I love that there are always new opportunities within the company and that there is so much room for growth as they seem to try to promote from within as much as possible.

Update 09/01/21: my ac has been fixed and I wanted...

Update 09/01/21: my ac has been fixed and I wanted to give it some time to before I provided feedback. The apartment manager Felicia was amazing throughout the entire process. Her willingness to put in place a system of accountability going forward as well as keeping open communication helped change my mind about how I felt maintenance issues were gonna be in the future. She was her empathetic of my situation and provided solutions to remedy the problem and was on call if I had any additional issues or concerns. It took all of two weeks total to get everything fixed and I ve had no issues since. So far if it wasn t for her I don t think this place would survive. Thanks again Felicia!

Maintenance informed me that it wasn t an emergency that my ac wasn t working and it s currently 79 degrees inside. When I called, the automated system stated that anything over 75 degrees is considered an emergency to which maintenance will respond and come out. He informed me that it has to be over 85 degrees so he would have to come out tomorrow. I find it hard to believe that he would be comfortable paying rent and sleeping in 80 degree heat. At the very least a portable unit could have been offered to cool a portion of the home and make it somewhat comfortable. A little effort on his end would have went a long way. Not to mention, this was the second time I called as I got no response and 4 hours had gone by. This is the Buckroe Apartment complex in Hampton, Va. though it may not be your most lucrative complex that you manage, it still generates income and deserves the respect and decency of a maintenance person who actually cares about his job. I didn t expect him to stay and fix it but at least accommodate me with something to help until someone could come and fix it the next day or whenever. I m disappointed mostly I suppose as this isn t the first awkward interaction I ve had with a maintenance person.

I have been working for Drucker + Falk for 2 years now and it has been the best decision I have made for my career. I love my coworkers and I trust in my supervisors. I have worked for multiple property management companies and D+F is by far the best one to work for. I am so very grateful for all my experiences with them so far! I am excited about the future with this amazing company.

TL;DR The front office at one of their properties ...

TL;DR The front office at one of their properties (Camden Place) is incompetent and is now charging us an additional $1400-1500

We signed a lease back in early 2018 that tied us to an apartment from June 2018 to June 2019. We are students and were planning on moving back to Campus area but the new lease we signed started in August 2019. So, we asked (in December 2018) for an extension on our lease to August of 2019 stating that we signed another lease to start that same month. The office was gracious enough to allow the extension. We were still required to sign a 60-day intent to move out though. We asked them if we could sign the intent to move out that day (December 2018). They said it is company policy to have it exactly 60 days from the move out day (I don t understand why but we agreed). They even stated that they would provide a courtesy reminder 90 days from the end of our lease so that we don t forget. Fast forward to the extension months (June-August). Our rent was supposed to increase partway through June (to which we understood and agreed to), and due to the complexity of the rent over these months, we went down to the office to ask about our new rent amount. The rent was going to be different for each month (June, July and August). So, we had to stop by every first of the month to guarantee that we paid the correct amount. Not one of those times were we asked if we planned on renewing or terminating our lease in August. We never received our 90-day notice reminder and come late July, we inquired about the exact move-out day, to which they stated that we haven t submitted an intent to leave. We tell them that we stated back in December that we were intending to leave but they wouldn t let us submit it in writing. Moreover, they never reminded us at the 60-day mark. Their answer was that it was company policy to not take 60-day notice until 60 days out and the reminder is more of a courtesy than a requirement. On top of that, they tried to play it off as if they were helping us by ending the lease in late September instead of extending it a whole year. Their stupid company policy and incompetence has led them to hold us accountable for $1400-1500 of rent that we can t afford. I will admit that I forgot to submit the 60-day intent to leave, but why wouldn t they make a note in our folder that we planned on leaving in August 2019 when we stated it to them in December 2018 or why wouldn t they allow us to sign an intent to leave well before the 60-day mark, or why wouldn t they remind us when we met with them several times over the preceding months? AVOID THIS PLACE. The front office may seem nice at first but they are incompetent and will hide behind the legal documents instead of admitting their failures.
