Very nice hotel and good nightly price. Thanks for including parking unlike every other Chicago hotel!
I was here for a conference, and not a stay. So I can only comment on the conference room which was nice and well set up. There are no trash cans in the conference room or the hallway outside though which I thought was unusual. I thought the bathrooms were very nice though!
Well, it is the Drake...drinks were really pricey but the service was great. Just had drinks in the bar.
Gorgeous brunch location in Oak Brook. The food also was very good, especially for a buffet. They even hired a magician who gave us a little private magic show towards the end of our meal. Very memorable and fun.
Nice hotel at reasonable price. It is definitely old school.
The wedding I attended here was drop dead phenomenal. The sheer amenities were wonderful.
Convenient location. Clean and comfortable. Super comfortable bed.
Nice resort luxury place very clean and respectable
Great venue for a big Celebration event (350 guests)
They call themselves a "boutique" hotel. Not sure on the context they intended but I won't be staying here again. We got there pretty late at night. It was extremely dark and no clear way to enter or process to follow (if this is the Boutique experience they talk about, I'll pass)
Attended a wedding reception and stayed overnight. Food was pretty good, staff was very attentive and polite. Rooms were basic, nothing special, but comfortable. Hotel staff was friendly.
We had lunch there after visiting the local artisan show last weekend. They practiced good covid restrictions and we felt comfortable there.
Went there for an event, thru a radio station.(97.1) Called bacon bash! 20 restaurants through out the ballrooms and bar area. The Drake is beautiful and very accommodating. Enjoyed the event very much. Will go again next year. People we ran into said the rooms were very nice. They wanted to have fun and not have to worry about driving. Very smart!
Enjoyed the band, Eustacha. Tables nicely seperated. Fantastic burger and house merlot. Very attentive waiter.
Went to breakfast with Santa in a Friday with my two young girls (2.5 and 1.5 years old) and other family. It was awesome! Easy to get a picture with Santa and Mrs. Claus. Very beautiful. Did was delicious. Staff was exceptional. Will definitely go again. Heard Saturday was going to be packed. Friday was not crowded, easy to get to things. Oh, the kids' crafts were fun too. An all around good experience.
We stayed here for one night on a Saturday. The room was very nice. The grounds were beautiful. I would stay here again in the future
Very good ! A bit far from Chicago but I liked
The brunch was great
Was there for a wedding reception and the ambiance was amazing!
My stay at the Drake was lovely, with many great accommodations as well as a wonderful staff. Thank you so much, I will be returning again soon!
It was my first time at the hotel for a dancing/social event. The area was a bit tight but we had a lot of fun. The hotel itself was fancy but the style was 80s fancy. It's a little gaudy in a modern sense.
An old majestic hotel. It was probably stunning at one time, but it's lost its elegance, least to me. An update surely must be in its future. The grounds are still immaculate and the entry and halls beautiful. Our room was standard which was a disappointment, considering the price I paid. Expected much more.
Only used a ballroom, it was very nice. Staff was cool
Beautiful environment, cheap price and good service!
This place is a DUMP. We stayed in October and they had "turned the air off for the season" forcing us to sleep with windows open to cool the room down. Except the window didnt have a screen. Bugs flew in all night - this is worse than a red roof in. DO NOT STAY HERE
Great service! The front desk worker was extremely helpful and very pleasant. My room was nice, but it was definitely not the best hotel I have stayed in around the city. Bed was comfortable, but the bathroom was very vey small. Great location, but every hotel in Oak Brook is in a great location. I give the Drake 3.9 stars.
This place is old-school. 80's style fancy. The bar and conference rooms are good. Bartenders working the cocktail bar are on their game.
Not good if you are Muslim because no Halal food in or nearby
From the very start my experience at the Drake surpassed all my expectations. The staff was very friendly and helpful on the phone (I had early questions about parking for an oversized vehicle) and in person. I stopped at the bar for a drink and some food and everything was very reasonably priced, and the food was real- was better than the usual hotel quality food.
The room was clean and neat- the only thing I noted was that I could only find one power outlet (but I'm guessing that's because of the age of the building.) The property itself was close enough to Oak Brook mall that I could walk there but also far enough out that it was still quiet.
Finally, the complimentary shuttle service was very much appreciated. Being on the road so much, it helps to be allowed a few enjoyable things to feel human again. Being able to make it to a favorite coffee shop without driving the large truck I had through the backstreets to get there.
I would without a doubt stay here again- and in comparison to the other large chain hotels in the area, you can't go wrong with the price.
Staff is okay and the establishment does not communicate. We used this for our wedding block, but after we booked, they stopped answering emails in a timely manner. We were supposed to stay in a new building, but no one told us it wouldn't be ready and we were put into a normal room as our "wedding suite"with no warning. We went to the hotel after the reception, and 10+ person group of our guests and ourselves were kicked out of the bar so they could close early, even though we were still ordering drinks, newly weds be damned! The HVAC system went out during the two days we stayed there, and no one said anything. The rooms were sweltering and no one could figure out why. I'll never stay here again.
The grounds are beautiful. The rooms are nicely appointed.
We spent two nights here from March 8th to March 10th, 2019. This is an older, classic and traditional type of hotel. But it is quite elegant, even though it is a bit dated. However they are in the process of renovating every room and will also redo the front desk, restaurant, and the grounds. We got to see an actual renovated room which they're calling the Marilyn Monroe style. And we got to see pictures of the Frank Sinatra styled room. Both rooms offer more space, hardwood floors, updated bathrooms, yet still maintain the elegant charm. Despite some renovation already occurring, we didn't hear any work or were disrupted at any point in time during our stay. We actually didn't even know it was occurring until employees mentioned it. Now for the best part of our stay. It was definitely the people. Every single staff member went above and beyond, were gracious, courteous, and tried to make our stay as wonderful as possible. In particular was David, our waiter during high tea on Saturday. He was very respectful and kind and attended to our every need. Then on Saturday night, Juan in the bar was excellent. We had a great conversation which seemed genuine and real and I was disappointed that we couldn't stay longer to continue our chat. We also met Kim, one of the managers and she was also very kind and gracious and we really appreciated everything that everyone did. This weekend was my birthday so there were a few little extra things that we got, like free carrot cake during tea and a free drink at the bar. The beds and pillows are very comfortable, huge TV in the room, and the noise level from the hallway was good, but not great. However there wasn't a lot of traffic in the area of our room, so outside noise was not really an issue. So, kind of a long review but this place is definitely worth a stay if you're in the area. There are dozens of restaurants and shops and things to do close by, so you'll never be bored.
We recently hosted an interactive networking event for 50 or so people in the Three Oaks Room, and I wanted to thank you for the great experience everyone had. The continental breakfast was perfect. The room was beautiful, and set up just as we asked. The staff serving us could not have been nicer or more attentive to our needs throughout the morning. The process for arranging the room went smoothly, and our coordinator was very responsive and patient with us as our needs changed. We look forward to holding our next event at the Drake later this year!
This hotel is all about details. At the beginning I was scared for the red carpet with the shining vibe. Then the room was really nice. I loved the details, meaning a keurig with coffee and green tea pods. Four towels that really dried (you know what I mean). Decoration was great.
Finally, we had dinner and a beautiful restaurant, listening live music.
Lovely large array for brunch. Definitely a brunch we will revisit in the future.
Space was great and the Valentine's day performers were outstanding. The meal was delicious - we tried the bisque and the onion soups, which were great. The steak and salmon we delicious, and the lobster tail was out good too, though slightly overdone. Biggest problem was wait staff; they were friendly but disorganized. Had the impression that many were on their first day. Rookie mistakes like empty water glasses, forgotten orders, and confusion about what items were for which tables. But, it was a special event so maybe the regular staff was augmented by newbies for just the one day. Shrug. Will be back.again.
I attended a wedding here. The staff was very attentive and the food was good.
Rooms are nice and clean. Staff is great ay making sure you have everything you need.
Free parking behind the hotel entrance is actually off the street on the other side handicap accessible comfortable went for a meeting I've been there a few times wonderful bathrooms extremely clean meeting rooms are adequate bar is extremely nice price is a little high but not for this type of hotel
Staff was pleasant. Hotel was very well maintained, loved the feel and decor. I will come back whenever I am in the area. Thanks!
Service was very good, place was clean and organized.
A Wonderful Hotel For Relaxation In Fun But Karaoke Was A Great Time
Classic old world well maintained great staff entertaining jazz music wonderful location off the beaten path well worth visiting
Great place.excellent food n services. Rooms are classically decorated n spotless. Wonderful way to spend our 43 rd wedding night..just as great as first night there on our wedding night
Lobby band amenities are adequate. Rooms are average. Location and price are good.
Attended a banquet here...better than average food for a mass group...lovely ambiance
Very nice place. Our room had a funny smell when we got there and while we were out the front desk had people come and clean it for us which was very nice. We stayed for a wedding so the grounds for the ceremony and room for reception was beautiful!
Very nice hotel for a good price. There are a lot of good places to eat nearby.
The Drake Hotel is back in all it's glory! Beautifully and lovingly refurbished throughout the entire hotel. The guestrooms are plush and inviting; the banquet areas stunning; the bar area has added live entertainment and expanded. Last More
The Champagne Brunch was very good, although this weekend was sparsely attended and a few items (the French toast and scrambled eggs in particular) had sat too long.
But the rest of the food was excellent, and the staff well-trained and attentive. An off-hand comment by my wife to one of the carving station attendants resulted in her birthday being recognized with a song and a complimentary slice of birthday cake!
The staff was very nice and helpful. The location was also very clean.
Great service when very busy, nice singer this Friday night food terrific, nice presentation
I moved back to Chicago and has heard the Drake had closed but had reopened. Decided to take the family for a pre-holiday brunch and crossed my fingers that it would be as good as I remembered. I don't think the food choices were as vast as I remembered but they were still good. The service was attentive and friendly. The staff made it an enjoyable experience.
Restaurant service was terrible. Servers were visibly stressed and don t know how to handle a high flux of people.
Classy place , This clock was in my Room... Chewy approved
The management team is awful. Stay at the Hilton instead.
Best service ever. Waiters were so prompt with everything. Best dining experience in a longtime.
I was at the Drake last night for a social event with my company. The staff was very nice, the decor made it look very classy, and I had a great time. I cannot speak for the rooms because I didn't stay the night but I would definitely be back.
