I do not exaggerate when I say that Dr Hurlock saved my life. Anyone who has been told by numerous doctors that NOTHING is wrong with you, when you are sleeping 14hrs+ per night, joint pain, swelling, gaining weight like crazy, experiencing hair loss, having to stop to nap beside the road on even short drives (yes, that really happened to me), and SOOO much more, PLEASE KEEP READING.

I spent years in agony. I honestly don't know how many doctors I saw. Every single one came back with the same answer, "I can't find anything wrong... maybe you should try exercising more, eating less and losing weight". Exercise and eat less?! I was BARELY eating and drinking (I was never hungry), and exercise?! I could barely stay awake at work (with the help of stick pins that I'd poke into my thigh, I managed to get by for a few months before I could no longer work.)

I was about to completely give up. I didn't have a life. I couldn't stay awake or be pain free enough to enjoy life. I was ready to die to be perfectly honest. One day, something in me told me to look farther away (even though the doctors I had been seeing weren't exactly close either). I googled for hours and finally ran across Dr Hurlock's website. It was the first inkling of hope I had felt in a long time. I told my family that I knew it was a long drive (9 hours!!) but I couldn't go on unless I got help and Dr Hurlock seemed to be the person who could give me that help.

BEST DECISION I'VE EVER MADE.

As soon as I started telling Dr Hurlock my numerous symptoms she said, "You have ALL the symptoms of Hypothyroidism. I'm going to help you feel like yourself again". She prescribed Armour Thyroid, and not even kidding, within a week I felt like I was living again. As time went on, I felt better and better until it was like I was BETTER than the old me. I was able to go back to work, clean my house, STAND UP AND SHOWER, go a WHOLE day without a nap!! I was able to lose weight for the first time in... I have no idea how long actually, meanwhile I was eating MORE because I actually had an appetite again. My hair has grown back. I no longer ache and swell, and I sleep 7-8hrs every night, like an actual normal person again lol.

I'm begging you. If this sounds ANYTHING like you, please do whatever you can to see Dr Hurlock. You can have your life back.

Its a shame there are only only 5, stars! Dr Hurlock literally saved my life! I no longer live in Virginia but travel every her to see her because she is simply THE BEST! She treats YOU, the individual, not going by what a book or "normal test" says that all is well yet you suffer from horrible symptoms of hypothyroidism! She is the best!! She truly cares and is a rare gem! I am so thankful to have found her almost 20 years ago!

I have been seeing Dr. Hurlock for over 20 years and she has helped me navigate myriad health problems including cancer. She has always given me the straight story about my thyroid and ERT therapy. I am in good health today because of her care and have recommended her to many friends and family whom she has also helped. I highly recommend her especially if you have been frustrated with other doctors who tell you you have to accept feeling tired and bad because you re getting older.

I have been seeing Dr. Hurlock for several years. I couldn't believe that I actually found someone who listened to me. She treats my symptoms--not the TSH tests. She is very knowledgeable concerning thyroid issues and hormone replacement. I finally feel like my old normal self thanks to her. I moved 1600 miles away and I fly back every year to see her because I cannot find another doctor who is like her.

Dr. Hurlock was a God-send for me. I have worked in healthcare for the last 30yrs. Then I became one of those patients doctors like run in the opposite direction when the see you coming or see a note from you. Not Dr. Hurlock, she listens to you and works to find what will best help you and your symptoms. She doesnt give up. She treats you, the patient, and she is available and wants to hear from you. A remarkable healthcare practitioner in this day and age.

Had not slept in 18 months had untreated low thyroid problem that I never suspected and her hormone therapy has made me healthy!

I traveled over an hour to see a doctor that came highly recommended, Dr. Hurlock. I ve been having some very serious and persistent symptoms and I figured that I needed to go to the best doctor. I sat down in her office and began to tell her what is going on. The lady laughed the whole time. Not laugh like haha deserves you well but the laughing made me feel super uncomfortable. After telling her about my emergency hysterectomy (that was traumatizing and left me with PTSD and depression) that was the result of losing 3000ml of blood during a cesarean, she laughed again and said wow you really do have bad luck . And then proceeded to tell me, so nonchalantly, your ovaries are probably failing or going to fail . We gathered that she didn t have the expertise to help me as my case is complex. I will never spend another dime with that woman. Not one ounce of empathy, laughed at me as if I were a joke, and on top of it all.... suggested, in reference to my thyroid, just have it cut out, get rid of it . No healing steps, no talk about management first, None of that! She wrote down the name of a doctor who she says is the best at cutting out thyroids . Her advise is to cut my thyroid out and let it send me into Hypothyroidism and then come back to her so that she can manage it with medication because she deals better with hypothyroidism $200 spent on a doctor that I drove 1hr40min to get to then got stuck in traffic. I cried the whole way home. Our healthcare system is screwed up! I ended up going to Dr. Theodore Watkins in Washington DC and his regiment has helped tremendously. My goiter and nodules shrunk and I m feeling so much better.

I have been seeing Dr. Hurlock for 7+ years and my only regret is not having found her sooner. She treats my hypothyroidism and her solutions/approach have literally given me my life back. Dr. Hurlock is stellar at problem solving and her care has also enabled me to keep symptoms of menopause in check. Energy level, mood, bone density, achy joints are all greatly improved. A myriad of other symptoms have disappeared altogether such as heart palpitations and climbing cholesterol. I highly recommend this practice!

I can't be more grateful for finding Dr. Hurlock. I was diagnosed with hypo when I was 8, I've had to deal with doctors telling me that I was fine even though I was exhausted every day for most of my life. Dr. Hurlock was the first doctor who actually listened to me and made a gameplan toward feeling like a functioning human ought to. Her direct explanations are helpful and refreshing considering how few doctors take the time to do that these days. I've never had to wait long to be seen for an appointment, never had a bad experience. Communication and patience is key for finding what works, and it's so worth it.

Thyroid expert! If you think you may have a thyroid issue, go see Dr. Hurlock! She has changed my life. Don t waste your time with physicians that look at your lab results and tell you everything is fine. I went untreated for years.
