We went to see the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band for the second time on 11/10/13. They were great as usual. What bothered me is that in the multiple shows we have seen in the past, the food was exceptional - and the menu choices were varied and gave a great choice. Always fantastic chicken fried steak, and then a chicken, fish and something else. This visit the food was just not good and the menu selection was even worse. The menu offered the usual chicken fried steak but the other three choices were lamb, salmon and duck. 3 of the 4 of us in the party had the chicken fried steak. More ended up in the napkin, unable to be chewed, while the other had the lamb shank which produced about 4 bites of fatty meat. Very disappointing to say the least. I think there has to have been a change in chef and not a good one. I was so embarrassed to have invited another couple and raved about the food only to have this happen. Then their bill came to the tune of over $300 or thereabouts and I felt terrible as the food had been so bad. Even the dessert - lava cake - the "lava" was still so cold it wouldn't come off the fork. Something has to change because the price and the food don't add up. Very disappointed - never had this happen before.

Great chicken fried steak, BBQ, chicken as well as great desserts. Oh, how could I forget the coffee. Very good! Being a musician and me playing there, we were treated like royalty. I always wanted to play here and it luved up to the hype. Thank You Dosey Doe's

We went with friends to hear Hayes Carl. The entire experience was fantastic. The building is beautiful, very rustic, very Texan. Staff was incredibly friendly, as was the owner. Food was absolutely delicious with very generous portions. Coffee was perfect. Can t wait to come back!

I love this music venue! We had previously seen one of my wife's favorites here - Wynonna Judd. This time I got to enjoy one of my all time favorite performers - David Wilcox! A terrific evening. And the chicken fried steak was very good.

This was our wedding reception venue and you went above and beyond our expectations. Making our reception so awesome that nobody will ever forget. The food was great (brisket and chicken) the drinks were ice cold, with excellent wine selection, and all the guest cannot wait to come see a concert there. Hands down the best staff (Gabe) and best customer service I have ever seen. By far, this was the best decision we made for our wedding venue.

Although the place itself is pretty cool, I had a very unfortunate incident with a cheeky waitress that added herself an extra digit in front of her tip (and she didn't even have the decency to add "1", but instead, a greedy little "2", so I ended up paying $20 something for only one beer). I hope it was a one time only thing cause it's a real shame. The location is fun and interesting.

Always a fantastic place to see a show! Great musicians, intimate setting, good food and friendly people. We have been to many shows and have never been disappointed. And, if you live in The Woodlands area, it's right in the neighborhood.

My husband and I both ordered iced vanilla lattes and they were the worst lattes either of us have had. We couldn't taste the espresso, and while we were watching the barista make our beverages it was obvious that they didn't have the proper training to use the machine. The espresso was super underextracted which causes it to taste watery and weak, and the milk wasn't frothed but more heated with the frothing wand until it reached a boiling point. So it was basically just a hot cup of milk that sort had a weak espresso flavor.

We made our first trip to the Dosey Do Barn to see Candlebox play an acoustic set this past week in the Woodlands. I was not prepared for the awesomeness of this venue both in how it is setup and how it can deliver such an intimate and pure sound. The host indicated that it seats about 400 guests, many who are on the first floor seated at long tables. The tickets required a reservation for your seat in the restaurant, which turned out very nicely. I liked being able to guarantee where I was going to be sitting. They have built a balcony area just above the raised stage on the first floor. We chose our seats here on the far corner to the right of the stages front face. These were some of the best seats in the house as we had a table for two and we could easily watch the show and hear everything perfectly, while not being crowded at the longer tables with other guests that filled the place. We could not stop talking about our experience and told many friends and co-workers. We will likely watch their event list to try and revisit in the future. All of the staff were helpful and friendly. We had pretty good service from our waiter who was helpful and attentive. When the show begins though, the waitstaff do fade back and try to interrupt as little as possible until between songs. But they alerted us to this when laying out the rules to the show at the beginning. The Dosey Do takes the no talking policy pretty seriously and will ask you to be quiet if you are being disruptive given the nature of the acoustics in the barn. This is a good thing given you are there to hear the show, and not converse with everyone throughout the set. I did knock them one star though. You can arrive early for dinner, which we did. We ordered the ginormous chicken fried steak dinner and a catfish sandwich meal. Both of the dishes were lukewarm. I was convinced they cooked the chicken fried steak ahead of time and over held it. It could have been good if it was hot and fresh. I personally found the dinner sub-par, especially given the costs. My wife did order drinks through the night and was generally happy with most everything she received, although she thought the sandwich could have been hotter, but was good. We will probably choose to eat elsewhere in the future and then make it in time for the show. We absolutely want to return and hear more music here!

Went for Brunch Sunday the 4th of June about noon. Ordered 2 scrambled eggs, bacon, biscuit, potatoes. Eggs and bacon were good. Biscuit was HARD, potatoes were cold. Poor service. Good atmosphere. Will not be returning.

I expected much better food especially for the buffet price. Bacon was har as were the biscuits. Ordered over medium eggs..completely overcooked first time and replacement was barely cooked...eggs at a breakfast place should be easy order....disappointed.

Alright venue for listening, definitely has some prominent stage obstructions in some areas though. Service is up and down. Visited for The Rippingtons in June 2018 and attentiveness was not one of the qualities of my experience. While several other tables around my own were being served appetizers and salads, we had not even yet been greeted for a drink order..... Clearly this was disproportionate to policy service, but my experience all the same. And this was for my birthday, my dad's treat, one of his favorite bands.

If you have not yet been to a concert at the Big Barn, you are missing a real treat. Nearly every seat is good with the best seats about 5 feet from the performers. And the place seems to bring out the best in them. Food is good and staff top class.

Was there for private event. Venue was kinda cool. I m sure would be good to watch a real concert event. Food was pretty awful. Everything was over cooked. Not sure if this was catered in or came from somewhere else but it seemed like it was cooked there.

Nice Texas house, but the food is Rhode Island size. We paid $350 for a BJ Thomas show with dinner. The food as ok but looks like we were in a French restaurant- very small portion. Next time if you have a Texas appetite remember that the portions here are Rhode Island size.

A bit pricey, but a great, intimate performance venue. Tickets included a prix fix meal before the concert. 90 minutes of nostalgia as we listened to the songs of our youth! Follow their listings to choose your next outing.

I was there last night to see "Killer Queen". The service was lousy, and had to flag down a waitress, and then it took forever to get a drink and finally a menu. After arriving before 8:00 show time was 8:30. Eating was out of the question. Oh yes, the waitress never came back. The band might have been great but you could never really tell. The sound was awful and you could see the vocalist singing but you couldn't hear it half the time. The over all sound was terrible! Then finally, after the show, the waitress finally shows up with the check. My first and LAST Time there. A High Priced Rip Off.

This place has the best acoustic in town, no matter were you sit in here you have a great view. Also there food is all good I've tried about everything they have to offer. This place is expensive though. But a great place for a date with your ole lady and new girls to impress.

Supposedly this place is good for concerts, but their service is terrible for breakfast. Their juevos rancheros are delicious, which is the one good item on the menu, and the one good thing we have to say about this place.

Twice now, we've sat there waiting to be acknowledged and finally decided to walk out and go somewhere else. Last time, we waited forever to even be greeted by a hostess (which never happened), and as time passed with employees walking around failing to greet us, we left.

Today, we were actually seated (yay!) and were their fourth table of customers. There were four servers working. Two of them even walked right past us without so much as a "hello" or "someone will be right with you."

If it takes that long to even be acknowledged, who knows how long it takes to get food! Really frustrating.

I m giving a five star because the venue for music is awesome. If I could give a separate review for the restaurant it would be a 2. I went for the music and had a good time but the food was cold and service was a bit lacking. I ll definitely go back but probably eat beforehand.
