Great find while walking around Vancouver. Wonderful little family restaurant. We had a great time and meals.

Great find while walking around Vancouver. Wonderful little family restaurant. We had a great time and meals.
I highly recommend this place as one of the best south Indian restaurants in Vancouver serving delicious chicken wings and fish pakora. I visited the place along with my friends today, I loved the ambiance and the seating especially beside the big window steals the lime light. Though there is a delay in serving the food we will not even notice it as the place creates a great atmosphere for spending some quality time. Its worth a wait for the mouth watering food and worth visiting to this place.
The waitress was so kind. She gave me gulab jamun on the house since it was my bday! The food is good and well priced.
Wow! Impressed by the replies on the reviews, planing to be there but I don't think so its worth,As per my perception, restrictions and asking for how many portions, sounds odd to me
Davie Dosa Company was worth the visit because the HOUSE SPECIAL SPICED MASALA was prepared beautifully. It was prepared with crunch and texture, and the service was wonderful with genuine warmth. My taste buds were so happy, that I ordered some dessert(carrot halwa)! I will definitely be back again, before heading back to Seattle! Now I am having flashbacks of my visit to Mumbai and Goa.
Super place for genuine southern Indian cuisine. Very tasty and large portions too. Highly recommended!
The food was one of the best which I've had in Vancouver. Dosa quality was comparable to India's finest restaurants. Chicken biryani was Tamil style and tasty. Would love to visit again.
We ordered quite a few dishes from uber today for $40. The quantity was very less and the quality of the food was worst. Please never ever order from this place. They give uncooked food. I ordered Manchurian which came out as a uncooked cauliflower. The cauliflower was also not fresh and had stains. The naan were so bad. Worst experience ever.
Wow.. Amazing the food was very delicious south Indian food very tasty good luck
Always my favourite south Indian place which makes me feel like home. Dosa is not too oily but super crispy and the flavours of their chutneys and sambhar are well balanced. Ever want to feel good out of this covid do visit its worth.
First time to try dosa. It was tasty, fun and the server was kind and patient to explain the dish to us.
Hot preparation; delicious; lot of choices; enjoyed;
I've never had a Dosa before and it's definitely worth trying. It's very tasty, the lamb inside was soft and tender and I especially like the coconut sauce. I can't comment on how this Dosa compares to others since this is my first, but if you've never had one, I recommend coming here and trying it!
It's okay--you can easily get much better Indian food anywhere in Vancouver. The flavours are kind of muted, the bread side is more like a pancake, and the serving size is a little small for the price.
This place is sooooo good. The dosas are amazing and the lamb biryani was delish. Servers are very nice and totally organized. Highly recommend this place to anyone that loves southern Indian food. A great addition to the west end!
Food was not that good. Did not meed my expectations. Naan is fake, tastes like its made from potatoes, not from flour.
Great food and ambience in restaurant. Staff was nice and down to earth. We had a friendly conversation with the restaurant owner before we left.
Really great food and amazing customer service. Sharv is very friendly and accommodating.
Delicious food, excellent service, COVID safety properly followed. If you wish to have an authentic dosa of south India then this is the best place to visit. We had a great time with our friends there. Owner of the restaurant is very nice and friendly. Highly recommend this place!
Great food, friendly people, great addition to our Davie Village.
Really loved the Butter Chicken Dosa and the service was great! Delicious!
These people know what they're doing, hands down!
I walk in quite often now, Kinda became a regular since my arrival in vancouver a couple weeks back. Everytime I am welcomed with smiles, good conversion and delicacies from my home, forcing me to write my first ever review....But I know these people have earned those 5stars!
Am from south India and so are these people ....i just moved to vancouver and this was my first stop in vancouver and i know that in my stomach that it was the best decision so far! It's not too pricey for a fine dining ambience in downtown vancouver per se. It's an open kitchen so you can pretty much see what's going on in there and it looks clean and classy. They welcome you like family and I've had long chats with the owner of the restaurant who's also the Bartender (gentleman fixes the perfect drinks )
The food, I've had almost all the dosa's they serve, because everyday they have a special dosa on a discounted price and it's different everyday! Every dosa is served fresh, cooked to a perfect crispy crust which breaks in your mouth like crackers and the meat is tender and flavourful. Am not a fan of spicy food, so i had to ask to bring down the heat before i ordered the first time and i was served exactly what i wanted, every time after that, never had to ask twice. Excellent service. The appetizers were crisp and were made how it should be made. I recommend the house desserts because they're delicious. I've had talks with the chef('s) and i can vouch for the authenticity of the taste because they simply know how it is made the original way!
I love this place the food is amazing authentic and tasty.
The owner is friendly and the overall atmosphere is great.
Cilantro wings and the lamb curry are amazing
Very bad service they don t even know how to talk to customers. Very disappointed
The manager is worse instead of apologize they don t even serve you next .
They pretend they don t even see you.
Never ever go there again.
They need some kind of training.
What is customer service
Was about to go across the street to Davie Dosa & Currie and they were closed, apparently due to health inspection issues. So ended up here. So glad I did because the dosas turned out to be the best I ve ever had in the city. Was very well-made, great ingredients.
The owner was charming, very caring and attentive.
There are people on here who are giving fake reviews. If anyone gives less than 4-stars they probably haven t even been here.
Best Indian, atmosphere and service in the city without a doubt.
Most authentic dosa close to downtown! I usually go to Dosa factory or Madras Spice on Main. Living downtown, I can t believe I found such a great place for my weekly masala dosa. Humble staff and great service!
Fun fact: The owner owns Dosa factory too!
All staff are fantastic , food are so delicious and an amazing presentation and great atmosphere.
Everyone must taste precious of Davie Dosa.
Best dosa I have ever eaten in Vancouver!! Great ambience. A+ customer service. Highly recommended.
Food was horrible and service was okay. Nothing special.
Authentic taste. You can never get wrong with masala dosa
Delicious food, perfect service and great prices. Will definitely come back.
Just came back from having an amazing experience at Davie Dosa Company my first visit here. I was excited to try this place after hearing about it a few months ago. The first dosa spot downtown exciting!
We were welcomed by a very friendly owner, Saravanan who was very courteous and helpful start to finish. I ordered the Fish Dosa and my friend ordered the Cauliflower Dosa - both were a 10/10. The sambar was the best I've ever had and both the chutneys and sambar were of generous portions. The chef even came out to greet us and check to see how the food was tasting. I was thoroughly impressed by both Chef Leveil and Saravanan, you can tell they have a true passion for food.
Homestyle, healthy and delicious. I cannot recommend Davie Dosa Company enough and can't wait to try more of their amazing flavors.
Highly, highly recommended.
Great service, particularly staff Hari treated us very well. Authentic food. Love the parathas here.
Well, If you are a south Indian you will be disappointed by the dosa in there. I tried Dosa twice there and it was bad both times. . Salty hard Dosa, salty Sambar and bad coconut chutney. Probably food might taste better with beer hence high ratings.
They serve delicious south Indian food. If you get a chance to have a word with the owner/chef, that's cherry on the cake.
This place is in no way authentic or original South Indian food. Quality and quantity - very poor. Seriously, they don't even know to make the basic biryani! Long wait time. I would give zero stars if possible. I won't be going back that's for sure.
Friendly staff, quick service, cozy atmosphere and DELICIOUS food!!
Amazing food, inexpensive and great service! So happy to have this in the neighborhood, hope it sticks around also veggie pakora was delicious!!!
Great food. Excellent staff. Best South Indian in Vancouver
We split the Masala dosa, then shared the lamb curry - Flavours are amazing! Going back to try the Byanis. Great menu, something for everyone - staff was great.
Best customer services by the staff and best food in canada
( MAC'S STAFF )
We had our India trip renewed , we had Masala Dosa , we enjoyed even though it was made to Canadian standards, but overall we loved it, specially the Kulfi !
Why would people give this place 4.4 rating?
We ordered Medhu Vada and dosa and was surprised at the first bite. Neither was cooked well and coconut chutney and sambar was just lifeless - no smell of coconut and sambar was dilute.
easily the best indian ive had in a loooooong time -- had chicken pakora, butter chicken, house masala dosa, and chai tea -- i live close by so will def be stopping by again for either a sit down or take out.
Whenever we think about celebrations, Davie Dosa is always our first choice. From the starters to the Desserts the quality and taste of everything is outstanding. Extensive, seasonal and high standard Menu is filled with variety of Indian cuisines and desserts. Be it veg or non veg, Davie Dosa will never run out of options.
Food is always fantastic and no matter what i order i am always delighted with my meal.
Do yourself a favour and visit this lovely place to enjoy delectable, mouthwatering and flavorous food.
thank you for delicious food and good service. Was happy back to this place
Gotta love dosas. Everyone should try it once in their life. Reminds me of home.
It's a very average place with average food.
Location is good since it's pretty close to Stanley park and English bay beach, but that's the only highlight of this place.
We ordered a dosa, uttapam, rasam and gajar halwa.
I don't recommend the halwa at all, since definitely it wasn't cooked fresh, they didn't even bother to warm it up well
Dosa and uttapam had a sour note to it, sambhar had some rotten ingredient in it, rendering it inedible. Rasam was the only thing I enjoyed here.
I don't recommend this restaurant very highly.
Neighbourhood Gem
We ve tried the pakoras, samosa, dosas and briyanis. All great. Spiced wonderfully. Portion is great too. You can take some home but you will most likely eat it all there. Reasonable prices compared to others on the strip.
The owner and his staff are wonderful, friendly, warm and accommodating. I also love that they play awesome soft jazz while we are dining there.
We will keep going back for sure.
Welcome to the hood!
Poor value. Dosas come to the table looking huge. Open them up though and there is Very little filling. I was very disappointed. The plate is clearly intended to look large . But it is all crepe and very little filling.
Great food and service, would highly recommend...
Everything perfect. Such friendly staff.
So great to finally have an amazing Indian food restaurant on Davie Street. Super friendly staff & fresh flavorful & tasty food.
The chef went out of his way to make sure everything was great & they loved that the neighborhood folk were coming by.
Definitely our fave place in our hood now.
A great place to eat varieties of authentic South Indian food in Vancouver downtown. Definitely do not miss this place specially if you like Dosas
Authentic south Indian cuisine, delicious dosa with quite a wide range to select from
HOSPITALITY is top notch at this establishment.
Authentic food truly stands to its authenticity!
Davie Dosa is my go to since they opened 4 years ago, the quality and consistency is undeniable.
If it s your first time trying Indian food or you are looking for that curry fix, try Davie Dosa!
Sugar, spice and everything nice in my books
Delicious. Authentic. High quality ingredients. Food cooked with love.
my favourite Indian restaurant room door dash , they make amZING dosa and I love the butter chicken
Too salty food. Don't choose expecting a good meal.
Amazing experience with authentic and tasty Indian food!
Wow!!! Hard to find authentic dosas when you grew up on the mean streets of Bangalore and dosas were your bread and butter! This place is awesome. Also perfect for date night with the decor, dim lighting and chill jazz music. The have a full bar as well and weekly specials. We had the cauliflower Manchurian and a couple of masala dosas and they were delicious. The staff here are super friendly and ready to help with suggestions if this cuisine is new to you. With the closed tables they were really Covid safe too. Get a dosa now, thank me later.
You are in Vancouver and you want to try Indian food, you cant miss the most authentic place "Davi Dosa". It's been a year now I am visiting this place, I strongly believe that they are carrying the southern Indian food tradition. You can't miss the Dosa & idle and Indian beer .
Are we allowed to give ratings in minus !
Ridiculous customer service ever seen
They Don t even know how to talk with a customer.
We ordered one manchurian and we found that with very less quantity and we asked them is it full plate.
They replied should I bring you the big container for that with proper gestures
That was not something cool if he thought he was tryin to do so
Great food and friendly service. Good portion sizes. Had a spiced masala dosa, and the spiciness was quite mild.
If it was up to me i would give 0 stars. These guys are giving dosa curry(sambar) in the name of soup. The masala dosa was over cooked. The "65 chicken" was way too salty and i hated it. I would be okay with waiting for an hour if the food was decent enough (it wasnt). It looked like 65 chicken was holded and warmed up again for the plate. Sorry for a bad review the but the kitchen staff has a lot to work on.
I have visited here couple of times. I like the food here. To have authentic dosa, one should visit this restaurant. I also tries curry combo here which is the perfect combination of rice, curry and dosa. Must visit place for best service and food! I wish good luck to entire team there.
Excellant everything, we will come back for our friendly neighborhood restaurant.
The place seems really warm and welcoming. Great food and service. Their chutneys have authentic flavours and the home made pistachio kulfi stood as the show stopper. Must try and Highly recommended.
The owner cares about the quality of his food and service. Enjoyed the food for lunch. Ordered chicken 65 and masala Dosa. Was hoping the masala was a little more flavorful and spicy, but I would still come back. Lots of gluten-free options!
I love the food and the staff are amazing :) The place is very homey and has such a relaxing atmosphere! The shrimp curry and gulab jamun for dessert are highly recommended.
Tried this restaurant for lunch, great food, good ambiance and service. Many drinks to choose from as well, will definitely be back!
Delicious food and the best customer service I have received in a while. The masala chai was a show stopper
Hi I follow Davie Cosa ...online...I like the environment ..here they serve healthy food not only that not adding any artificial colorings and taste improvers and also the dosa making videos are really interested to see again and again..Davie's deepawali and pongal celebrations were in different level...you can feel Indian food taste in davie dosa @ Canada ..I would like to visit the place soon ... All the best ...keep it up...
Really Tasty food. Thanks to Saravanan the Warm hearted Owner.I highly recommend
Our favourite Indian place! Lots of choices for gluten free people and vegans...and the food was great, too
Food was amazing! Best dosa I've had in the lower mainland. Appetizers were excellent as well. We've been back several times and have not been disappointed.
Family owned, quaint, very attentive and excellent food.
Davie Dosa is an exceptional restaurant! The quality and flavour of the dishes are outstanding. Truly a crown jewel in the Davie street area. Their buttery curry cottage cheese dosa sends me to my happy place every time. You can tell that they use the best ingredients in their well-balanced dishes...one of my favourites.
nice and professional staff and the place is fully neat and clean. been here 2 times this week and will be back for sure
