So this review isn't by a customer but rather a person who visited family who work there (multiple occasions). So what I can say is that the Dorchester appear to take care of their staff fairly well - at least as far their canteen goes. The food is really good and there's lots of it. I can only imagine if that is how they feed their staff, then they must feed the guests very well! My uncle has run the barbershop there for years and is certainly top notch (I realize I'm biased but he literally takes years off my father and other uncles when they go to him). Definitely worth a visit!

I only know this place from the perspective of an employee. I do not recommend night shifts, a lot of work, I had the impression that work was pointless because day by day I was able to find this place in a deteriorating condition. Day shifts get more per hour but good English is required.
Pretty tasty staff canteen!

Excellent. Only two complaints: having a confirmed booking for a park view room with two beds, neither was available on my first visit. This was rectified on my second visit.
Why, in their beautiful bathrooms, do they have a foot-bath, but not a proper bidet?
Excellent service, super-fast laundry. very pleasant personnel

My friend and I went to the Dorchester in October for afternoon tea to celebrate our retirements. The ambience, food, and service were outstanding. We were fortunate to have two excellent servers: Denny and Francesco. They made the experience memorable - we've attended several afternoon teas over the years, and this was in a class of its own. Hopefully, the management will recognize these two gentlemen for their outstanding service.

We arranged a surprise birthday party for our mother at the venue. The venue and service we received was fantastic. The family and friends were impressed with the overall experience. I would highly recommend the venue as it is easy to get to. Also parking facilities which can be booked in advance. Can not say enough about this venue.

The Dorchester is one of my favorite hotels in London to have afternoon tea at! The room is stunning, the service is impeccable and on point! I took my mom there for her birthday, and we were very well taken care of.
The sandwiches were a delight, the pastries wonderful and the chocolate cake was a beautiful surprise at the end.
We were entertained by hotel guests parading down both aisle in stunning Indian attires on their way to a wedding.
I recommend The Dorchester to many people who ask me where to have tea in Mayfair.

The Dorchester is one of the most iconic hotels In London and a place of pure class and elegance. The staff are extremely friendly and helpful at all times. The decor is classical so although it feels slightly old this place would look odd with modern furnishings. I only went for afternoon tea so I can't comment one the rooms or the diner service. However the afternoon tea is delicious! The sandwiches are very good quality, a great tea selection from around the world and cakes to really finish you off! At Christmas's time is very festive and there is always a display at the entrance. This year saw a huge ginger bread dolls house replica of the hotel. It goes without saying the Dorchester goes the extra mile!

Afternoon tea was amazing. Staff could not have done any more for us. We went for my husband's birthday and were treated like we were the only ones there. They even gave my husband a birthday cake. Food was sumptuous and elegant and the silver service impeccable. Best afternoon tea we've ever eaten and experienced

A vegan afternoon tea. Unfortunately a let down. Coffee (latte) was very mild in strength, and I had one option for dairy free milk...soya.
Sandwiches had a good, albeit, conservative selection of fillings.
The scones were terrible, such a shameful effort, unrisen and chewy....and the 'cream', well i had a scoop of "spread". So very disappointing.
The cake selection was a feast for the eyes but not cake, more exotic morsels.

Personel of the hotel is very friendly and helpful. The rooms are little bit small but very comfortable. Service at the hotel is wonderful. The location of the hotel is perfect. Rooms are also clean. Food is excellent. The personal and hand written welcome message from the group manager is a small but very important, well thought detail, and explains a lot about the management of the hotel.

An unforgettable experience. The foyer is incredible with many fresh flowers on display. We had afternoon tea on the promenade and encountered excellent service, fantastic food / hand-crafted cakes, scones and live pianist.

Stayed there just because the ritz wasn't available for one night , a given name by some sports cars at the entrance and nothing more. No class , rooms normal , nothing special , breakfast mediocre , lobby is a bus station , staff irritating , especially in The so called Michelin stars restaurant. Bathroom in our room wasn't a 5 star at all. Wouldn't go back unless forced again.
