Absolutely delicious, best steaks in Scottsdale! Can't beat Chicago-style cuisine!!!
Great service from our waiter Sam and the rest of the staff. Our food was great. You have to try the onion strings. We felt we were back in Chicago. A very nice evening.
Old school dinning....
Good size portions ~ done just right ~ helpful knowledgeable staff ~ great location in Old Town Scottsdale ~ try it out before it is torn down in either one or two years.... depending on how soon they build the hotel the property sits on.
A staple for prime rib in South Scottsdale for years. They have great ribs as well. The atmosphere is an upscale sports paraphernalia and dark cozy dining all in one. Reservations are recommend. Valet is optional & they don't open until 5 pm. But unfortunately, like many places in South Scottsdale, it will be going away within a year or so to be replaced with either a hotel or more damn condos. So don't wait too long to go. You'll miss a really good & famous restaurant.
Food great service fantastic wonderful dinner with friends
Staff was excellent and food was outstanding, will definitely go back.
The NY strip was perfectly cooked and delicious! The burnt onions were amazing and should be paired with every steak. Also, very refreshing to have a from scratch made ceasar salad, which seems quite rare at most like restaurants.
Great food and appetizers. Service was quick and food was hot! Will definitely go back there soon.
Priced on the high side, but good quality food, and this is also the place to see the local baseball players, coaches and owners. Must make a reservation and don't be shocked at the bill...
It's been around for a long time ,was busy I had the Caesars salad a friend had the filet he wasn't impressed with presentation all in all was good ,I'd go back
Great atmosphere!! Love all the sports memorabilia. Staff super friendly, our waitress was awesome. Had the beef "flinstone" rib was so tender and flavorful. Great experience all around.
Awsome during spring training. Met Willie Mays. Great food, ribs were awsome.
Sports enthusiast heaven. The food was average. The service was good but like many restaurants they really try to rush you. Pricing was odd as the side selection was priced for two. Parking was outrageous valet $6:00.
Had the pecan encrusted rainbow trout. Perfect taste combination.
Legendary Scottsdale steakhouse, sadly closing on April 10 (knocking down the building to erect a new hotel). Very good food here - good prime rib and steaks, and the original sauce on the baby backs is outstanding. The signature attraction is the incredible collection of sports memorabilia. If you want to go before they close, your best bet is to arrive at 4:45 when they open, and get bar seating, which is FCFS.
Enjoyed my skirt steak done just right service was good my drink unfortunately was terrible didn't know old fashioned could be so badly made.
Fantastic place. The chopped liver appetizer is the best. For the amount of people served on a weekend the food and service is outstanding. Parking is a major problem.
Great steaks & good services. Prices fairly reasonable and the place packed with all sorts of great sports memorabilia. Definitely recommended but a stuffy old world type of atmosphere. Been there numerous times over the years. Always consistently good.
A great place that is covered in sports memorabilia and has amazing food. The restaurant opened in 1981 and has a ton of character. Make a reservation.
Our go-to restaurant for the best ribs and steaks in town! And we are there for every big and small occasion! Best service too!
The food is excellent...especially the baby back ribs. I had the au gratin potatoes with my ribs which were perfectly cooked. My only critique is the server had almost no knowledge on the wine list or scotches on hand. It is definitely worth the visit.
Too much hype over mediocre food at best. It feels like the old chefs retired and the new ones have no clue. Simple as that.
Great place with extensive memorabilia collection and good food. You never know who you may run into.
Favorite place to go during Spring ball in Scottsdale. Tons of memorabilia to see and you never know who you will run in to there. Food is pretty good, too
Always fun to dine here. Great food and awrsome service. Wish it wasn't closing soon.
Perfect steaks as always.this is my first choice for steaks
Food was ok, French Onion Soup wouldn't know never came, service eh, heard it's getting torn down and replaced with a hotel, probably a good decision
You will not have a better cocktail or steak in all the Southwest. This place is of the charts. We go every year 8-12 people and every steak is perfectly cooked every time. If there is a better place for a steak in Phoenix we have never found it.
Wonderful atmosphere. Just get there before April. A tradition this great needs to be experienced.
Great steaks. Cozy atmosphere. Friendly service. Book and enjoy. If you do like huge portions they happily split a steak between two. Loved it.
If you are in Scottsdale you have to eat here. The food is the best and the prime rib is excellent.
Fun place to check out all of the sport memorabilia and possibly spot a sports broadcaster or two. The food is just average but it is worth the trip.
Food and service both very good. Booked thru Don and Charlie s so for the $20 credit advertised. Was told the $20 did not apply on Father s Day. Did not see the exclusion in the fine print at bottom of offer. Waitress and Hostess said no problem as we could get the open table credit for the 100 points from the manager as you cannot get both open table credit and a discount. Understood.. The manager was unsympathetic and said it was our fault for not reading the fine print in the ad and offered us no discount or open table credit. Cannot fathom her overt rudeness. No way to deal with the public. Will not go back as her attitude was a turnoff.Too many more accommodating restaurants in Scottsdale.

A world-class steak and a world-class sports memorabilia collection, need I say more?
Great food, service, and atmosphere. Don & Charlie's has been a Scottsdale "must do" dining experience since 1981. Never disappointed...Gotta Go Enjoy!!!
Went there to use a gift certificate I was given. The steak was no where near the flavor or quality you would expect for the price charged. The best thing we had was the baked potato. Glad the dinner didn't cost me much, and won't return.
Food and service was excellent! Only complaint would be the noise level....being a sports bar atmosphere, it was difficult to carry on a conversation at the table. Perhaps it was just a busy night but I got the feeling every night was busy. Ironically my husband and I realized, after making reservations, that the restaurant could have been named after each of our dads. Tons of great sports memorabilia too.
Best meal I've ever had in Arizona. A must for sports fans as the memorabilia collection is second to none.
Excellent food, good service (spoilt only by our waiter constantly sniffing).
First time to carryout in all the years of visiting D&C.Thanks Phil.Always great.
Love this place...best food...great service...Gina was our waitress...fabulous service
All I can say is the food is great and the atmosphere is nothing short of eye candy extravaganza. Go if you enjoy a good meal and sports memorabilia.
This is a really cool place for special occasions. It was my husband s birthday and my in-laws took us here for the first time. The kids had a blast looking at all the pictures of all kinds of memorabilia. It s a great place for all ages. The food was a bit underwhelming but still very glad I went.
4.878 stars. Fantastic.
The staff gave me all I ever wanted. I would rate the steaks as something special; something sacred. Don't be mistaken, the service didn't leave me crying; in my eyes. I will love and eat at this restaurant; until the end of time. Or, until it closes.
Also, no evidence found that the women's bathroom was haunted.
Artichoke and spinach dip, onion rings, coconut shrimp. All were spectacular and served expediently and hot. Niko was a knowledgeable server and gave stellar service while remaining unobtrusive. 5 stars all day long. Thank you Don and Charlie's for having great food all these years.
That was our last time at Don & Charlies since it is closing April 10th. We have 30+ years of wonderful meals(birthdays and anniversaries ), terrific atmosphere and the best service in all of Phoenix. We will truly miss Don and his great restaurant.
Mediocre steak. Too long of a wait for the quality of food.
If you love prime rib then this is the place to be! Of course, the entire menu is phenomenal. Try the dry rub ribs! And for dessert, don't forget the banana cream pie! I'm not a desert boy, but this thing is amazing!
The food never fails to amaze. One of the absolute best dining experiences available in the valley. We keep going back and it always makes us feel good.
Loved the nostalgia of D and C. The food was also very good, albeit, quite expensive. Too bad it is shutting down. A spring training iconic destination.
Awesome restaurant and great place to meet and see Spring Training baseball players.
Fantastic filets!! Great atmosphere. Reminds me of Chicago!!!!
Food was cooked perfectly. People are great. Donna our waitress was wonderful.
Every time we are visiting Scottsdale, we eat at Don and Charlies. We have been going there for about 10 years now. Always the same: Good quality of food, great service, prices are reasonable, and fun atmosphere.
Steaks are a quality cut. Ribs are tender. My husband and I highly recommend Don & Charlies.
Too bad the place is closing after 40 years in business. Could spend a whole night just looking at all the sports memorabilia that they have collected during all that time. Overall the experience was great, the food was good but a little pricey, however the portions were rather large and the service was good.
I go there simply for the chopped liver but everything is great!
Delicious food, great service and beautiful ambiance!
Really enjoyed the charred ribs, service was very good. We were a bit underdressed so ate in the lounge rather than the fine dining area - that was good too.
Don & Charlie's is one of my favorite restaurants. I stop by every time I come to Phoenix. BBQ Ribs and Chicken fantastic!
So long to one of the best steak houses in the area. Bring torn down in April for a high rise hotel. The rumor is that a smaller version will occupy the new facility. Will not have enough space to display all the fantastic sports memorabilia.
Have been to Don & Charlie's many times over the last 30 years. I went this last week as a remembrance and farewell. The food was as per their usual, amazing and delicious! The service was spot on and anticipated any needs we had. I will miss Don Carson's place when it closes next year.
Best prime rib of all time and you'll find more sports memorabilia here than anywhere else!
This legendary restaurant deserves every 5 Stars that it has always received! Don Carson, you are the man! Excellence all around!
The Restaurant serve great tender Steak... It was so delicious and outstanding.. The function was clean and neat.. Good furniture, tables and chair. Staff were really nice and attentive.. All were GREAT!
If you love sports especially baseball, this place is incredible. Great food but the memorabilia is unbelievable
Great food and service, specialties for me are their Chicago take-out style bbq ribs and broasted chicken. They're nice and tender with unique cooking techniques. Check out the Hall of Fame case on the way in.
My husband and I decided to try this restaurant and I must say it was the best decision. The waitress was very friendly and explained everything well since this was our first time. The steak I ordered tasted great and hubby enjoyed his ribs. The pricing was great too. Very relaxed but upbeat spot. We will defiantly be trying it out again. The menu has a lot to offer. Parking is limited, but they do have valet. There's not much sitting in the front when waiting to be seated but the girls in the front made sure I got a seat since I'm 9 months pregnant (so kind of them) but there is a bar on the left side before entering the dining hall, where in sure ppl can sit n wait. All in all great place.
Pricey, but good food. Deli style coleslaw was very good. Fries were great. Seated quickly. Other than the price it and being a but cramped space wise, a great restaurant.
