This place has been at the same location with the same food for over 40 years. There is a reason. It is absolutely awsome. 3 generations of my family have eaten here and it has never disappointed

I love going here for some really good Italian food. The Lasagna is off the chain! The owner often comes out to personally greet us. If we are not satisfied with anything they bend over backwards to make up for it. Even though I tell them its not necessary, they insist on making it better anyway. We use this place for our special date nights.

First time here. Came for lunch I was seated promptly and immediately attended to by a wonderful waitress named Katie. Told her it was my first time at the restaurant and she immediately gave me some history on the restaurant as well as some of the favorite items. I had the individual pizza and salad lunch combo which was fantastic. The meat toppings on the pizza for very flavorful. She also brought me there tomato bisque soup as she wanted me to try it at no charge. I will definitely be back and I'm looking forward to trying some of their pasta dishes

This was our first time to try Domenico's, and we are super particular about Italian food.

Oh, my goodness! The food was simply amazing! The tomato bisque soup is a must-have on any visit here, and the chicken parmesan--my husband's "go to" dish--was far tastier than typical chicken parm. The portion sizes were hearty and, to our surprise, the dishes are reasonably priced, too.

The service was impeccable. The greeters seemed genuinely happy that we stopped by. Our server, Daniel, welcomed us warmly and was attentive but not intrusive and effecient. We also had a very nice chat with Lance, the owner/manager, when he stopped by our table TWICE, and he made a point to commit our names and faces to memory.

Before we could request the check--surprise! We received a huge serving of tiramisu and two spoons. It was heaven in an extra large ramakin! I've never cared much for tiramisu; now I realize how delicious it is when it's made right. It's now on my must-have list at Domenico's, too.

Wow! This place is a great find. We are anxious to return and sample the other items on the menu!

Service and dinner was delicious. The owner came by to check on us. I haven't been in a long time, but I'll definitely be back
I had the rigatoni with sausage and a creamy and flavorful tomato sauce. They cook like I cook...really good pasta.

We have visited Domenico's many times over the years. My mom grew up in Belmont Shore and managed the movie theater down the street. She told me it was the first pizza in Long Beach and she'd never heard of it before Domenico's opened.

I have been going to this restaurant since I was a small child. I've taken my own children there for many family dinners and special occasions.

I look forward to eating here again soon. Big shout out to Domenico's management for offering Gluten Free crust on their delicious pizza menu (small and medium only). It is very good.

As someone who grew up in NY I'm a little snobby when it comes to Italian food and had basically given up on finding good italian in the area before I found this place less than a mile from me. A friend from Lake Arrowhead told me about their pizza which I got takeout about a month ago (incredible by the way... not "NY pizza" but delicious in it's own way) and my wife loved the interior picking it up and said we had to try dine in.
Well we ate there last night and it was nothing short of incredible. The interior is awesome, very comfortable and unique. And the food was just phenomenal. We got the basil gnocchi pasta with sausage and holy cow was it good. We also both got French onion soup because i have to get that everywhere I go and it did not disappoint. Everything was really great including the service (thanks Daniel) and I look forward to trying everything on their huge menu again soon. Here is a picture my wife drew on the back of a kids menu.

Not handicap accessible. It has all the charm and class of a great old school Italian restaurant but there is a big bathroom problem. Wherever owns this restaurant has made a ton of money. It is very successful. Not investing into the bathroom upgrade conveys a harsh attitude of the owners towards wheelchair users. They must have paid huge legal fees and say in countless meetings to win legal battles by grandfathering the building so they would not have to comply with the law. That energy could have been used to just fix the bathroom.

We went for an early lunch and the service was really good. The atmosphere was excellent, very cozy, dark and quiet with booths, curtains and carpet. Our entrees were okay and soup was good but the bread did not taste fresh and the vegetables were terrible. The vegetables had no flavor as if they were boiled. The waiter asked if we wanted parmesan and I expected him to bring the grater to the table but it's just a shaker jar of dry parm. Overall we enjoyed the authentic ambiance because of the old school vibe but will probably not be back since it is more just an Italian themed experience and not a culinary one.

Parking is always a problem. Server wasn't very attentive or friendly. Food usually is fantastic but tonight pizza was undercooked and tiramisu dessert was ordered for take out and it was slopped and smushed into a small plastic container couldn't even tell what it was. Aesthetically unappetizing. We invited grandpa to cheer him up a little grandma's funeral just 2 days ago. So this was a disappointing first impression for grandpa.

Domenico's has been a Belmont Shore staple since the 50's, and my family has been coming here ever since then. Even though we don't live in the area, we still make the 30+ minute drive a few times a year. We love the Domenico's special salad, and the pizza with ground pepperoni. The service is always great, and both the owner and manager usually come around to check in and greet us. This place is consistently good and never disappoints.

We were walking around shoreline village when we came across Domenico's. The owner Mike so graciously invited us to take a seat and was very kind in introducing himself and making us feel comfortable. He was kind enough to give us a background of his delightful business. He recommended the sausage tomato cream and the the salad with the garlic cream sauce. We ended up having both and some sauted mushrooms, calamari, tomato bisque, ministrone, and the chicken piccata. The food was absolutely delicious and I recommend eating here at least once, it is worth the wait if there is one. We will definitely be coming back. The waiters are friendly and considerate. Jeff was our waiter today, he was very enjoyable. Thank you all of Domenico's staff for the enjoyable evening and the cook for a meal well made.

The mozzarella sticks are crazy good and large!! The pasta was great, i feel like I need to try the pizza again because the one I had was just overpacked with tomatoes. It was definitely belmont shore though because it was too expensive to encourage me to go back.

I love this place! It's been my favorite since I was a kid. Definitely a must visit! I highly recommend getting the ground pepperoni pizza. Make sure to ask for their complimentary soup! I always get minestrone but I believe tomato bisque is available as well. When they bring the basket of bread out at the very beginning ask them for the house dressing to do with it! I eat the dressing with everything! The bread, the soup, the salad, and the pizza! Delicious! I even buy a jar to go

About Domenico's Italian Restaurant

Domenico's Italian Restaurant is a family-owned and operated restaurant that has been proudly serving Belmont Shore since 1954. With over six decades of experience, Domenico's has become a beloved institution in the community, known for its delicious food, warm atmosphere, and exceptional service.

One of the things that sets Domenico's apart from other Italian restaurants is its commitment to using only the freshest ingredients. From the tomatoes in their sauces to the herbs in their dressings, everything is carefully selected to ensure maximum flavor and quality. This dedication to quality extends to every aspect of the restaurant, from the friendly staff who greet you at the door to the cozy dining room where you can enjoy your meal.

Of course, no discussion of Domenico's would be complete without mentioning some of their most famous dishes. The Ground Pepperoni Pizza is a particular favorite among regulars - with its crispy crust, tangy sauce, and generous toppings of pepperoni and cheese, it's easy to see why this pizza has become such an icon. Another must-try dish is their Giant Mozzarella Sticks - these crispy fried sticks are filled with gooey melted cheese that oozes out with every bite.

But perhaps one of Domenico's best-kept secrets is their Creamy Garlic Dressing. This rich and flavorful dressing pairs perfectly with salads or as a dip for breadsticks or vegetables. Made fresh daily using only premium ingredients like garlic cloves and extra-virgin olive oil, this dressing alone is worth a visit to Domenico's.

In addition to these signature dishes, Domenico's also offers an extensive menu featuring classic Italian favorites like spaghetti carbonara and chicken parmesan as well as more unique offerings like seafood risotto and eggplant rollatini. And if you're looking for something sweet after your meal (or just need an excuse for another visit), be sure to try one of their homemade desserts like tiramisu or cannoli.

But what really sets Domenico's apart from other restaurants isn't just its delicious food - it's also its commitment to creating a welcoming atmosphere where everyone feels at home. Whether you're celebrating a special occasion or just grabbing dinner with friends on a weeknight, you'll always feel like part of the family at Domenico's.

So if you're looking for authentic Italian cuisine served up with warmth and hospitality in Belmont Shore (or anywhere else), look no further than Domenico’s Italian Restaurant!
