Dolphin Bay Resort & Spa Review

The location offers beautiful Pacific Ocean views and the outdoor seating is protected from winds by glass. The lunch menu has a nice assortment of salads, sandwiches, and entrees. For dinner enjoy the fresh seafood.

Perfect sized pool and no chlorine! Cleansed by saline solution. Decent sized hot tub too!

Love the spa. The massage I received was amazing. I also used the infrared sauna. It is a very nice spa and would highly reccomend if you are in the area.

Great spot right on the bluff and it was perfect weather that day. Ordered the mixed nuts and olives off the happy hour menu and the nuts were good however the olives were just a bowl of only kalamatas which were hard to stomach.

Love this place, friendly people and beautiful location

Fun, large suites that are well laid out and nicely accommodating. Pool occupied hours of time when the kids weren't going to the beach. Still very nice during the winter holidays.

Came here with the family for a little get away. Really liked it. Awesome resort set up, nice rooms, good service. Restaurant and bar were good. Easy access to the area and perfect view from our room!

A fantastic property that will put you at ease the moment you arrive. The staff is very professional and helpful in every aspect whether your stay is 1 day or 1 week. Our suite was equipped with all we needed and more. We will be back in the future...real soon.

The location and grounds were very nice. Enough parking provided and great views. The only problem was staying new the laundry room woke us up several times. During the night.

It's an all suite resort with a great atmosphere. The rooms are huge with full amenities including kitchen and laundry, the restaurant is very nice. Great spot for spending a night as well as a vacation!

Very nice and simply fantastically located hotel, right on the coast. Also culinary of the finest with very nice staff. Free valet parking, a beautiful outdoor pool and the spa make the most of the good impression. A dinner on the terrace by the sea, with windbreak, heating and wonderful sea view should not be missed!

I recently spent 2 nights and 3 days in a 2 bedroom suite at the Dolphin Bay Resort. The overall experience was great and I would recommend anyone looking for a resort like experience come try it out. I do have a few negatives that I believe should be mentioned. First the wireless internet service at the resort is very poor. They utilize a few long range access points to try and provide it to the whole complex. They are do not protect this wireless signal so anyone can join it whether you are staying or not. The upload and download speeds are very poor so much so that I could not stream Netflix in my room at 720P resolution. The second negative would have to be the TV setups in the rooms. They are Vizio flat screen tvs in each room and even though they look nice the controls for the TV are horrible and the charter cable setup is not much better. Having to press the power button hard multiple times to get the TVs to turn on is not a pleasant experience. Now these are pretty minor inconveniences compared to the overall experience I had but for the price I expected more. I hope this review helps bring to the attention of the resort so they may improve it for future guests.

Room was very roomy and luxurious! Beach access, but elevated enough that the ocean waves didn't keep us awake. Highly recommend this hotel!

Attended a baby shower here and I have to say this place is very nice! Beautiful spot right on the cliffs and everything is top notch.

A friend introduced me to this place...now we don't want to stay anywhere else!!

Room was very spacious with new appliances, door leading to a walk along the bluffs, a private beach, etc. Highly recommend this place.

Suites are surprisingly large at 1,600 sq ft. Staff are extraordinarily nice. Lido restaurant is good for both dinner and breakfast. Great base from which to drive around exploring. Solid WiFi.

Great location, friendly staff, and beautiful resort. In November 2019 my husband and I (with our small dog) stayed 3 nights in an oceanview suite. The staff was amazing! The grounds are well maintained and beautiful. Our room was spacious & stocked full with everything we needed and more. The kitchen was equipped to make any meal possible. We ate dinner one night at Lido, while the food & service were perfect, it is a little pricy.

The food was okay, but a bit overpriced. The view could be nice in the summer, but not so much in the winter with the sun setting so early.

Rooms are very well-appointed and ready to cook and entertain in right away. The view of the ocean is breathtaking, and the overall environment is Serene and calming. Everyone, from front desk to spa to restaurant staff, is very helpful and nice. In short, it's a great resort with everything you need to decompress and enjoy the coast!

Enormous, modern suites and a lovely location, but the best part is the first-rate staff who always remember and welcome us on arrival, and respond to my family's most finicky questions with patience. The nicest place to stay in the Central Coast

Food was good, appetizer never came out, salad and entree came out at same time for two different people. One person's salad was served as an entree. The dining room manager was the one who brought the food out and didn't understand what was going on and why we would be upset. They did comp our drinks. Probably a good thing since she ruined my mimosa by pouring more champagne in it without adding orange juice.

This place capitalizes on the amazing view. The Sunday morning brunch at the restaurant was phenomenal! The cost was up there, but worth it for all the food!

we love the Dolphin Bay - we tell everyone about it. We have been going back for 5 years on our way to and from San Francisco and/or other adventures and it is a great place!

if you decide to dine at the in-house restaurant try the brussel sprouts.it might sound really simple, but it might be one of the best things on and already over the top menu.

if you drink, and you like tiramisu, try the flatliner. It is very sweet, but a really, really fantastic dessert drink!

I must say that the Dolphin Bay resort was one of my favourite hotels to stay at. The rooms were beautiful, the view was magical and the staff had made me feel right at home. We stayed in the pent house suite and it was perfect for out family get away!

Absolutely beautiful place to stay and the food is out of this world. Staff is fantastic they really deserve 10 Stars!!

January 2018: "Restaurant Month"...We came out for a romantic dinner and sat outside. They had heaters and such a beautiful scenic view. The food was amazing and our waitress was incredibly personable as well as doing his job well. I would highly recommend to anyone to eat here. We even took a walk on the walkway along the beach after our dinner.

Clean, well equipped. Weather didn't cooperate, but that's not their fault!

Awesome very large suite, great view, top class amenities. Restaurant / room service is delicious. Huge warm, lit pool, large spa, nice fire pit and large property to walk around. Beach access, free valet. Top notch resort 7 minutes from downtown Pismo.

It was so relaxing! Love the view to the beach, the cleanliness and great customer service. We enjoyed the healing, therapeutic sauna. 30 min.

Great hotel. High quality staff and food on site. The views are breathtaking and it's in a convenient location.

The reason I'm giving 4 stars is the WiFi is not fast and the water pressure in shower was not great.

A comfortable and gracious resort and spa with a wonderful view and great beach access. We've been back over ten times and can think of no better resort on the Central Coast.

It was the best experience I've had in a long time! It was an ultimate dining experience.

Went out for a dinner with my girlfriend on 05/12/17. We got helped almost right away when arriving and got a table outside. The food, wine, and service was excellent no complaints what so over. Will be coming back for sure in the future and hopefully next time be staying with them over night. Its a lovely view. A must see if you ask me

Massive room with an ocean view. Great pool just set back from the cliffs. Sunset was cool in the evening. Loved it.

AMAZING! Everything from the staff to the soft robes is top notch. I hope everyone gets a chance to stay here at least once in their life. We'll be back.

I went to the Dolphin Bay Yesterday and they have one of the nicest views along the cliffs in Shell/Pismo Beach! It was an extra bonus to enjoy there spa and resort! Got a babysitter and spent the afternoon treating myself and one of my new friends in the area to their Spa! It was amazing, to say the least! Afterwards we had lunch at their delicious restaurant. Their Salads are amazing, and so are the drinks. It was a bit warm, but much nicer than a few miles inland weather wise. I would recommend The Dolphin Bay for the Resort and Spa, the Food and Drinks, the Service and wonderful views of the Pacific Ocean! I think I'll take my husband there on a date night and stay in one of the Ocean View rooms during Mid-Week (prices are high, but lower mid week) and you seem to get your money's worth for an overall experience!

Surpring coastal jewel with incredible views, solid dining options, great pool/beach combo and high touch service not found at most Pismo spots.

Probably the most exquisite luxury resort on the Central Coast of California. Too top that, the service and attentiveness of everyone who works there is 100%. always making people happy and comfortable with their stay

It's expensive, but I don't think there's a nicer hotel in the Pismo Beach area. The rooms are spectacular as well as the views and the swimming pool.

Lido is a great high end restaurant with a patio view. Their wine selection is extensive. My wife and I got the salmon and hiramasa. The food, service and view we're all great. And don't skip the deserts.

Great, clean suite. Friendly service. Only stayed one night. TVs could have been larger but not a big deal since you're there to enjoy the view.

My wife and I stayed here for a night on our drive up the PCH. The property was amazing. We enjoyed walking our dog along the path! And speaking of dogs, they did a great job of making our pet feel welcome. They gave her a bed, treats, poop bags, etc. We had dinner and drinks at the restaurant, which was nothing to write home about... but overall the experience was fantastic

We rented a suite here last year for a photo shoot for our company. The rooms were prefect for our lighting needs and the view from our balcony was gorgeous. The rooms were large enough for all the flat lay displays so the shoot went much more smoothly than if we had needed to keep moving props around. What I had not expected was an amazing and complete kitchen! It had everything we needed tp prepare the fresh food and flowers we used for the photos. And what a comfortable oasis. We really enjoyed relaxing there after the shoot and enjoying the ocean breeze. I would love to come back for a personal getaway!

Brunch was really fun with great views on the patio. We were a large group and even though the service was attentive it was still a little slow. We did the brunch menu which was excellent and the mimosas were constant. I would definitely recommend, but make sure you are not in a rush.
