A beautiful landscape and really good if you are looking for ski lessons.
Good resort with nice runs - would have rated 4 but could benefit from more cashiers and help for rental shop to speed things up.
Small resort, friendly people, fun locals, and 4 ft fresh snow made for an excellent day.
It's closer than Tahoe and about 2/3rd the price. They also have a great deals for beginners. For more experienced skiers it might get a bit boring after a few days.
The snow is amazing. Got a first run on Sunrise >> Sundown yesterday morning...Pure corduroy. Stunning!!
Had a terrific time watching the kids in ski school. The kids ski school program is top notch. They even worked all day with our teen who had a two hour lesson. Can't wait to go back.
Great ski resort just big enough to have a full day of fun
Family place. Close to South Bay. Good place for beginners and intermediate skiers. Low snow in dry seasons
Bay areas best kept winter secret resort. The place is an absolute gem only 3 hours from the bay and both lift tickets and rentals are incredibly reasonably priced. They do a fantastic job grooming the slopes. The biggest advantage to Dodge Ridge is that CalTrans does a solid job keeping the roads clean and plowed so even when the other resorts are closed, Dodge ridge is open
My family loves this place, it's the perfect size resort and a quick drive up from the Bay Area. Lots of elbow room and perfect place to bring people to learn to ski.
Perfect spot for a beginner. It isn't as crowded as Tahoe resorts and there's lots of open snow on most weekends. If you're just starting out, check out their progression pass - insane value for money and it'll help you level up really fast.
Prices are very cheap compared to other ski resorts and is very close if you live in the Bay Area... great for training, and pretty decent for experts
Love it for a few things,
proximity to the Bay Area,
great cordial people who run the place,
a lot of lesson options for all ages and
nice slopes giving you the biggest bang for your buck!!
Loved this place when went in December holidays for a day trip.
This place is great for Ski enthusiasts ranging from beginners to experts. Their customer service is excellent! You can pretty much rent all the gears required and they provide paid lessons for beginners as well. There are 8 trails ranging from easy to expert levels. Great place for family!
Really nice smallish (for California) resort that's 3 hours from SF and Silicon Valley.
The last place we got to ski this season . Thank you for staying open so late, can't wait to go back.
There are better and there are worse. I learned to ski here, the instruction and the team are good, but it is really too low in elevation to have great snow.
Over priced. Poor management. Lack of concern for employes.
Great place to go ski and get away from the valley.
Under Trained Staff ! Family with small kids need to be careful to avoid any fatal accidents. In general i don't leave negative feedbacks as personal experience will differ. The lift operator on the lift 2 was seriously under trained and we almost avoided a very serious might be fatal accident. We asked to slow down to board the lift chair the lift attendant instead of focus on the skiers was trying to be cool and the lift hit us and we fell. It happened twice as we fell instead stopping he let the second lift chair hit again this would have been fatal if we did not have helmets and avoided the speeding chair by luck other might not have the same luck. But said we tried other lifts the attends are courteous and helped all the way. If you are going with young kids please be careful of the attend and don't be shy to make it clear that you need help even if it needs yelling. I don't think this guys care you might be sorry and spoil Wonderfull skiing experience with nightmares
Quite nice for a small ski place. Had a good experience in here when I took a ski lesson. The coach was nice and patient.
Snowboard instructor was great, very fun to learn from.
Dodge is a great resort for starting skiers and snowboarders as well as the more experienced. There is a good amount of parking and the lodge is great. You can see those on the trails from the lodge and the food is good. The staff is always happy to help and respectful. The slopes are great and I will definitely be returning.
This place is awesome. Close enough from the Bay Area for a day trip. Leave @ 6 am, on the snow by 9, get a full day in, leave around 3, and home for dinner. Beats 8 hours stuck in traffic going to Tahoe.
Its great but snow fall has been terrible and wasted $300 this season
The number #1 ski resort hangs down. Lowest price and shortest distance from Bay Area. Lots of blacks for the experienced. Very reasonable price for beginner lessons.
Great option if you are looking for a place that's super close to the bat area. We went there for MLK holiday and wasn't crowded at all. Affordable and convenient.
Awesome snow, great slopes, friendly staff! Definitely coming back!
Restaurant was awful. Slow and flies every where...
Great food. Family friendly. Amazing staff. 5 stars!
Relaxed family friendly ski resort. Great intermediate and advanced runs on the backside.
Great mountain for snowboarders easy terrain no lift lines great value
Nice place and really cheap to compare with South lake Tahoe. Friendly and family environment.
Took my 10 year old grandson for the 1st time and he took to it like a duck and water we had an amazing day I love dodridge
Had a really good time here. Staff was very friendly! It's a perfect mountain for every level of riding. Perfect for beginners and the black diamonds on the back side are a blast! Best priced mountain around!
Amazing scenery, good weather, great snowboard/skiing routes for all levels of difficulty. Great vibes and good people everywhere. It opens at 9am and closes at 4pm. So go as early as possible and enjoy the ride.
Not too crowded even when parking lot is full. Get there early or you end up parking in the street. Shuttle bus is offered to take you to your parking spot on the street. Lessons, rentals and lifts prices are on the high side. Lots of places to sit, plenty of food choices. Snowboard rental staff doesn't seem to like her job. Some good runs and some kid friendly runs.
Pricey but great slopes and not too much people like Tahoe.
Great family friendly resort! Close to the Bay Area!
Always fun at dodge, especially when all lifts are open
Great snow! Very kid friendly, kind staff and super cheap tickets! We love Dodge ridge, it has excellent food and yummy yummy pizza! They slow lifts down so it's easier for kids to get on. They have perfect slopes too!
Even though we've been there during the high season, everything was very organized. There's a lot of room to ski, and the instructors are great.
It's a beautiful place with good amenities, a sports store, and awesome crowds. Definitely recommended!
Sooooo much fun. We had the place to ourselves. I love Dodge Ridge!!
They are not built to handle the holiday rush!!! Did a day trip on President s day with my brother s family. Checked in my daughter, nephew, and niece at 850a for their 930a half day lesson. They did not get their rental equipment until 1130a!!! And we booked them a half day AM session which was ending at 12p! They were patiently sitting waiting their turn to get fitted, as if there was any kind of system at all, until finally my sister in law spoke to staff. UNACCEPTABLE!! How can you make a 6, 7, and 11 year old sit there for over two hours completely ignoring them?! They had no system whatsoever. Only 2 or 3 people fitting the kids for skis, boots, and snowboards. Then kids that came in way later than ours somehow ended up getting their equipment and out to the snow before our kids. And their claim of 6-8 kids per class because Appropriate class size is important for learning ... I call BS. When our kids finally got on the snow at 1145a, their class size was 18 kids! My kids instructor Isiah was completely overwhelmed, but he was our ONLY positive moment in our HORRIBLE experience there. They seriously need to get their sh*t together. Definitely do not recommend coming here on a busy weekend. And definitely do not take children s lessons here at $158/child. This is our first and LAST time at this place. Will post this same review on Yelp.
This is going to be my go-to place now onwards! Great slopes for all ages and shapes nice management and good instructors as well as services! It is less crowded compared to few other hot locations. Ski rentals and ski lessons are available as well. Nice locations to visit nearby if you are not into skiing or snowboarding!
I'm a very novice skier, green is as difficult as I will attempt. Basic ski lessons from Dylan helped build my confidence. We plan to return.
Amazing ski resort close to Bay Area.
They do have amazing ski runs
They have teaching class
And ski rentals and restaurant at the site.
I don't ski but I love stargazing. Quiet And peaceful.
Forget the weekend
IT'S CROWDED
Great place to begin and improve. Had short lift lines on 4/13. Get there early for close parking or pay for premium parking.
Really friendly resort, with good prices for the area. There are limited runs though, with a few being closed. A great place for beginners.
Local resort, family oriented, bit dated but nice. Needs more grooming on runs.
Depending on the time of year, this is a fun resort. When there's enough snow, the mountain isn't as crowded as the Tahoe resorts. The runs are generally pretty short, but fun. Only a few are really technical, and those are little a off of the main trails. The lifts can be slow, but that's what you get with a small mountain.
The snowboarding was amazing. We went on a weekday so it wasn't crowded. The slopes were amazing, just about no ice patches any where. Food was good as well. My only issue was how many blantant racists were there. A truck was parked in the parking lot with "muslims go the f**k home" and another group of people kept calling this mexican guy a whole lot of racist terms as well, while me and my friend stood right there, and were mexican. I was mugged the entire time and the only friendly face i saw was a drunk old lady. If there was this many racist aholes while it was slow, I can only imagine how many are there when its busy. Ill make sure next time to only go when im with my white family. Apparently they're the only ones accepted.
The only ski resort I have been to. Which is saying a lot because I have been skiing for 28 years.
Super friendly - always open - even if HWY 80 is closed. Convenient.
Great price on tickets and the drive isn't bad from the Central Valley and Bay Area. It's a small resort but there are runs for every level and the lines aren't bad at all.
Brought my Grandson to Dodge Ridge age 11 to take his first skiing lesson. By the end of the day instructor Jeffrey had Indigo going up the chair lift and skiing down. It was thrilling to see him be so successful. Big thank you to Dodge Ridge for the lessons, for the easy rental process and the very organized fun day. What a gift.
Dodge is a great family resort. It's bigger than you might think and you don't have to deal with the Tahoe crowd. A mellower experience all the way around!
My favorite ski resort. Employees are all locals, food is pretty good and no big crowds.
Dodge Ridge is a family type ski resort. It has easy runs up front and medium runs towards the back. Boulder creek canyon in the back is the most difficult ungroomed runs. I would say this resort is very geared towards young family's. The kids have a place to ssd's kid or board and so do the adults . Its usually not crowded or long lines.
Awesome place I go with Mother Lode Adventist Junior Academy every year
It has a very homey feeling with lots of great runs! The staff are very polite, a few of the workers were rude. It is very fun to ski there and the slopes are fun some of them are very icy but most of them are fun!!!
They definitely need more employees at lifts to help little kids. Currently not safe at all.
Would have liked it better if there had been an area for children to go sledding instead of having to use the side of the road
Nice small resort. Great slopes for all ride levels. Also the closest resort to Stockton, Modesto, Tracy and the Bay Area.
Had a lot of fun there. Compared with other snow park, Dodge offers more free practice area for beginners. We went there not on the black out date. There was not too much crowds even on Christmas day. Three hours drive from South Bay. Good location for one day trip.
Took a bus load of kids there. They had a great time.
