Definitely the best Portuguese language school I've ever seen, at least in Rio de Janeiro. The teachers and staff are very attentive, not to mention the cool atmosphere among students from all over the world. In addition, the school pays special attention to speaking Hispanics. I always recommend it to my friends. It sure is worth it!

This is a great wee Portuguese language school, I would really highly recommend it to anybody wanted to come learn Portuguese in Brazil. Super well structured, high quality teachers and a lot of extra events in the afternoons (free samba classes, free capoeira, football games, walking tours etc). There are a big range of students here from all over the world, ranging in age from probably about 20 to 60, from people travelling who want to improve their portuguese, to people wanting it for their careers. They even have an intensive class for people who already speak Spanish. Don't consider anywhere else in Brazil, Caminhos is perfect.

The staff is amazing helpful friendly and cool! Love Bell Davi Zanskar Agatha! The teachers are really good in what they do! Learned a lot and felt very comfortable with my Portuguese (I took intermediate) The location is amazing - few blocks to beach and the subway in Ipanema! The activities are fun and great way to socialize and meet new people from all over the world! I am planning another month or two again soon! Love you guys and only great things to say to you always! The school is a great place to meet people, explore the culture, the city and learn the language for travelling purposes, casual conversations and simple communication. If you want to properly learn Portuguese at a higher level then you must do a lot of self-studying and/or you should consider enrolling in a university.
It has the best location, a great atmosphere and affordable prices which go to a good cause.
Caminhos is an incredible organization! They are truly committed to their mission of engaging with local communities. Caminhos is a wonderful bridge for folks coming from abroad to experience Rio in an authentic, thoughtful and community-oriented way.

Simply the best place to learn Portuguese in Rio. They gave me great language skills in a matter of weeks, and hooked me up with a host family who are now wonderful friends of mine for life - just back from being best man at one of the wedding of one of the family! Cannot recommend these guys highly enough - the real deal in every way :)

Initial Review:
I was a student for 2 months at Caminhos. Teaching was good, so were the teaching materials. Staff was very friendly, however, I paid for 8 weeks of group classes and took a break after having taken 7. I approached two different members of the staff in person on two separate occasions about my remaining lessons. Apparently there was a problem with the system which didn't show my remaining week. Both members assured me they would get back to me after having talked to the administrator, but they never did. I am disappointed in the administrative staff and was especially hoping that at least by the second time I approached them, this would be taken more seriously
Extension: A couple of days ago, after I wrote my review, I was approached by the owner of the language school. He apologized for the problems with the administrative staff and said that they just had a change in staff and thus encountered some problems. He offered me full compensation for my remaining classes and was very understanding of my situation. I wasn't expecting that and I now genuinely believe that it was a mistake and that Caminhos aims to provide an excellent service in teaching and administration. Thank you!
